Poor show ... child's goujons and chips
    Stephen L.

The Bayview hotel is one of our family favourites. Good wholesome food in a great family atmosphere. However, tonight one of us went home hungry. Zoe got chicken goujons and chips (at 5.95) and received 2 goujons and a cup of fries. I was so surprised at the size of the meal that I asked if the portion size was normal. "Yes" was the response. Poor show Bayview. BTW, the rest of the family had exactly what they expected for 3 adult orders.

Although I did find the Carrick -a-rede rope bridge and Dunluce Castle slightly more interesting The causeway is a nice stop for a midday meal particularly because they allow you to use your parking pass for a rebate on the restaurant bill. Just remember to bring your stub in. Ireland is not really known I think for its iced coffee drinks so probably steer clear of ordering an Iced latte. Not horrible, but not great. The food however, was pretty tasty. We got the Carmelized onion and goat cheese tart And the Pan seared Rockville farm chicken. Both were done well, and the price is paid. If you can eat in the back of the restaurant, it probably has slightly more character as the front has windows only looking out to the parking lot. Parking is free for guest of the hotel. Otherwise you pay 10 pounds.

We got a triple room with terrace, and the terrace overlooks grazing pastures and a breathtaking coastal cliff trail. A hot, cooked breakfast is included which is nice as the hotel restaurant is one of only two places to eat up here. You also get an audio guide free at the visitor's center if you show your room card. A great place to stay if you want to see Giant's Causeway and also a nice "home base" if you want to explore Northern Ireland.

The Inn has a restaurant and bar lounge with live music and there are fireplaces throughout the property. When I found out how much he paid for the room I was in slight shock. I guess the only room left at the time of booking was a large two story suite with a loft bedroom and bath, and a living room and bathroom downstairs. The accommodations were rustic wood with modern touches, tiled bathroom, etc. We arrived at the property later in the evening so we dined and then listened to live music in the lounge. The bed and linens were the finest in all of our Ireland stay, but the large King bed was divided with two mattresses. The view from the suite was looking into the interior garden and was quite peaceful, charming and breathtaking. For the price of the stay, I expected things like unlimited complimentary bottled water, and hotel staff at desk when items were needed after hours. I did love the calming balm that was put by our bedside, a mint/herbal balm to rub on temples prior to sleep, definitely the best nights sleep of the entire trip.

We could have settled for a night out, but we decided to really push the boat out and go away for the night, and carefully ignored the smutty sniggering from our less refined friends. We decided on the Bushmills Inn and booked a double room. Imagine my delirious excitement when the very friendly young chap at reception told us we had been given the bridal suite. We waited for him to say 'suckers, only joking', but that didn't happen and he did indeed give us the keys to one of the best suites in the hotel. It was just beautiful, a huge room with vaulted ceiling, massive bed and a full size sitting area with an open fire. All of the furniture and curtains etc were plush and luxurious and I could have spent all my time in the bathroom. The bathroom was also huge, very traditional in style with a lush free standing slipper bath. The rest of the hotel was lovely too and we had to work hard to get round and sit in all the public areas - the bar, the library and the sung downstairs. We ate out elsewhere for dinner but our breakfast next morning was fab - the full Ulster and it was tasty, not greasy and beautifully presented. All in all our one night stay was pretty much perfect - good service, good food and a wonderful room. I would absolutely recommend the Bushmills Inn for an overnight treat for locals and tourists alike.

The dining room is cosy and modern with a flat screen tv displaying a constant video of a fish tank which is quite relaxing. My meal came the chips were better than last time the chicken goujons were ok but I wasn't keen on them, the garlic dip was nice but the crunchy pieces of garlic were a bit much, the side salad was nice but they didn't put any dressing at all on it so it was a bit bland. Nice hotel , nice decor, prices are reasonable. Steps entrance to front or ramp entrance to the side. The food has improved a bit from last time but I wouldn't be in a rush to get something to eat in the Adelphi, good place for a quick drink though, bottles of wine from £9. Parking on street. I wrote in our reservation notes the night before asking if we could check in a little early to get ready for our wedding and within an hour of submitting, their staff called and told us they would be more than willing to help out! We arrived to this adorable nestled hotel and checked in with ease. The moment we got to our room, I honestly shed tears of joy. Not only was the view of the coast breathtaking, but the incredible staff here had complimentary champagne waiting for us! We had an amazing wedding day and headed back to the Adelphi to inquire about fun spots to visit in town. They directed us to the Springhill pub down the street where we were greeted by an amazing group of soon to be new friends and had pint after pint in celebration. The next morning we headed down to breakfast and were so pleasantly surprised at how accommodating the staff was to our dietary needs! This was the first place on our entire trip that was able to give us the full Irish breakfast catered to our vegan diets. They even went so far as to put together a breakfast in bed tray for us to take up and snack on while we packed up. I cannot rave enough about this perfect hotel and hope anyone that reads this review heads up to Portrush to check it out. We will definitely be coming back every year to celebrate and will be sure to stay at the Adelphi! Thank you all again for your amazing hospitality!!

The Causeway Breakfast Grill includes everything in an Irish breakfast, lots of protein and a couple bits of carb: sausage, back bacon with a fried egg, chewy potato bread and yeasty soda farl, grilled tomato and mushrooms as well. Other options include pancakes, an okay smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, and surprisingly delicious milky Porridge. There's a Continental Breakfast buffet that's open to everyone, and it has all the staples. Cereal, yogurt, and toast are sprinkled with a sparse selection of fruit, and a few pastries that run out fast. The coffee is awful. I don't think anyone here knows how to make coffee. Make it in your room or just have a nice cup of tea. Most of the food is alright, though, things like the Roast Silverside of Beef Sunday can be quite bland. The beef is tough, the Yorkshire pudding is great, and the Brussels sprouts are steamed to a dreadful pulp. There's a caramelised onion and goat's cheese tartlet that's more like a quiche, filled with fluffy eggs and plenty of creamy cheese, and it makes a nice, light lunch. Fish and chips is always a good option, and the Open Steak Sandwich is my favorite thing by far. The McAtamney's rolled rump is quite tender and the peppercorn sauce is great, with a lot of fresh black pepper for flavor. Afternoon Tea is only for two so if you're dining solo, not only are you lonely, you also don't get tea. It's a fun selection, enjoyed the sausage roll and smoked salmon, and scones are always lovely. The cheesecake is freezer-burnt, but everything else is alright. If you want dessert, the Bushmills Pecan Nut Pie is the only one I tried, and I love it. It's basically a a pecan pie, but that happens to be my favorite pie, and they make a good one. The rooms have no refrigeration so you're mostly eating here if you don't want to drive elsewhere. The food is okay overall, but the prices are rather high compared to less touristy location.

The hotel has a very nice bar and sitting area, and if you're coming in with a group, it is ideal. However, the bar is really just a service bar, so if you're alone, you'll have to deal with sitting at a table, and perhaps taking up more space than you would like... Still, overall, it is a pretty good experience.
