Not an impatient sigh to be heard so definitely a good start. Around us was a complete mix of people, ladies having coffee (never understand people who go to a pub and have coffee but let's not judge), young guys having lots of pints and other families. We were lucky in getting our seats at the window and enjoyed the beautiful views of the sea and cliffs, just breathtaking. I was equally delighted by the fact thatthey serve mini bottles of Chardonnay as most bars seem to serve only that vinegary muck known as sauvignon. The kids were quite noisy but not out of control noisy and everyone seemed happy with that. Well, I was anyway. Only downside was that they had no crisps which for us are a must when you're not having a meal. A great spot for day drinks for a family ot group of friends.

There was a moment of shock for me when I asked for Colman's mustard, which is the greatest mustard in the world and beef as good as this deserves Colman's, and I was told they didn't have it. As I was taking in the enormity of this shocking claim she re-appeared just moments later with a plastic pot of Colman's, so I shelved my plan to burgle a local supermarket and splurged a dollop on my plate. Another plus was when we ordered diet cokes we got the 330ml tins very well chilled. So many places now just pour from two litre bottles with no fizz left. The filet with the Bushmills whiskey black pepper cream and roast mushroom tomato and rocket was seasoned a little better but the cream was lacking some punch. Good but not great. It all sounds good but doesn't feel like elevated cooking especially for the price. Finally the desserts were split. We ordered a shot of the Bushmills 10 yr to go with the butterscotch sundae which made the sundae perfect. Without it I'm thinking way too sweet. The milk and honey delice was disappointing. We ate the ganache and left the rest. The crust had a strange herb like flavor that was very unappealing.
