The wonderful experience started even before we arrived. Their pre-arrival communications assured us our upcoming stay was in the best hands...and upon arriving, we quickly learned that the accommodations, culinary experiences, and Islay insights for all our local day trips would be world class; and, they were!!! Glenegedale House is such a cozy, inviting house, exceptionally well-appointed throughout, including the wonderful bedrooms that inspired us with a real sense of tranquility. Glenegedale is also surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of Islay. Graham and Emma are excellent chefs and each meal was a culinary masterpiece...incorporating fresh-caught seafood, other locally-produced foods, and Islay's amber elixirs into an amazing experience. From Graham's special Islay porridge, to the seafood platter that included scallops someone on Islay dove for that day...Graham and Emma make each guest feel extra special. We will never forget the presentation and the deliciousness of each meal. Their knowledge of Islay and their deep relationships across the island, also added to our visits to historic sites, distilleries, and craft shops. We amended some of our itinerary, based on their insights and we're so glad we did. They've given us a much better appreciation for the island and the people of Islay. This was an extraordinary experience because of our stay at Glenegedale House. We give Glenegadelle House (Emma and Graeme) our highest recommendation and will definitely be back as soon as possible.

The room was incredibly spacious. The best shower I've ever had outside the U.S. -- hot and with excellent water pressure. Great breakfasts as you'd expect (my personal recommendation is the French Toast with cheese and tomato). Golfers who've been to Bandon Dunes, it's like staying at The Inn, but with friendly, warm personal service. *Perfectly* positioned about a three wood and a nine-iron from the pro shop at Portstewart and only a 10-minute drive to Royal Portrush. Will DEFINITELY be back here with friends on our next trip.

The rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfasts are delicious and healthy. Ernestine's scones -- Oh. My. Goodness. So heavenly. The house is just far enough from the bustle of the town, and about 30 minutes from Giants Causeway and the Rope Bridge. You would be hard pressed to find better accommodations for the value. We definitely plan on going back.

This was the best bed & breakfast experience I've ever had and ruined me for the rest of my trip. Andrew and Allison were the ideal innkeepers. Warm and friendly and amazingly accomodating. And if you're a whiskey lover, Andrew has a vast knowledge of whiskies. If you're going to Islay, I hope you like whiskey. I was booked for a single room and wow. King size bed and a room almost as large as my first apartment. And the bathroom, just gorgeous. Just a slight warning, if you're a shower singer, sound travels. I enjoyed a morning serenade from a couple of the Swedish guests on our tour. It was a nice way to wake up but not everyone is as willing to explore others' musical talents. Each morning, they set us up for our day of whiskey drinking with a full English breakfast (delicious) and the offer of a dram of whiskey. I passed for the fresh squeezed orange juice because I'm a giant lightweight. Our last night there, for a small fee, they provided us with delicious house made sushi, oysters and seared scallops. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. As much as I loved the whiskey tour, I would come back to Islay just to stay at Bowmore House. It's worth every penny.
