Attention to detail is the only thing stopping this from being a five-star review.
For our US readers, the Premier Inn is a budget (but the upscale cousin to the even more budget UK Travelodge) hotel chain. We chose the more upscale as, well... we're on holiday and didn't want to go completely on the cheap. We also chose a Premier Plus room, and that is what this review is based on. I didn't see any of the regular rooms.
The Premier Plus rooms have more amenities: a Nespresso machine, iron and board, included Ultimate Wifi (payable with regular rooms, but free, slower, wifi is also available).
In the bathroom: Nice hand and bath soap. No lotion or shampoo. Large towels.
Was nice to have: Real mugs and glasses. Very small fridge, and just large enough to wedge a bottle of wine and a pint of milk in there.
Would have been nice to have: 2 seats in seating area instead of one of us being able to sit in an armchair and one having to sit on the bed.
Back to the attention to detail... we didn't get the Ultimate Wifi information on check-in and I didn't remember it being included until the following morning. There seemed to be something missing from the amenities every day. We were missing coffee and tea one day, then tea spoons the next day. We always seemed to be popping down to reception for one thing or another, but otherwise a good stay and close to town. read more
