Poor facilities (no gym on-site) and a pretentious, over-priced restaurant serving minute portions of poorly prepared (but well presented) food. I had the Suffolk Lamb, but it was over-cooked and fairly bland - not good for a minute portion costing over 20 GBP (before sides - it doesn't include any vegtables to speak of).
Internet access is extra - something which is not made clear on their web site. The wired and wireless access is provided by different companies, so you pay twice if you have to switch between them.
My premier king room was 175 GBP a night. The room and bathroom were good sizes. The bathroom was lacking the quality of fittings that I would expect at this level - cheap tiles, bodged silicone sealant and a broken shower tap. My room also got a moderate amount of noise from the A14 (I did request a quiet room).
The staff were friendly, but overall, it's very expensive and not really up to the standard of some (better located) chain hotels. read more
