We went out and around in Caernarfon and had pretty good food. The service staff was pretty bad in general and acted like they were doing us a favor and pretty much went out of their way to ignore normal requests. It was almost like they from the hospitality program at the local high school. For instance we ordered a more expensive bottle of AOC wine. Bottle was opened before it arrived at the table and the wine was pretty bad.

This was booked on Expedia and looked to be a great spot based on 884 Trip Advisor reviews and 4.5 stars. Errrrr wrong. Room smells like cheese and is hot as balls. There is an "A/C" in the room but the control to use it is kept at the front desk and they'll bring it to you so you can use it, but it goes back with them. Well, after all that you find out it doesn't work any way but they'll bring you fans, but no outlets near the bed to plug them in. Furniture is filthy, old, and dirty. Spots on walls and doors. Pillows are a joke. Don't book.

If you can manage to snag a table outside you get gorgeous views of the castle walls and the water. Ordering food and drinks was a bit of a pain, as it was all at the bar and the bar was packed. Hot, sweaty and very average!…read more It is what it is but certainly not worth £80 a night - we cancelled after our first night as it was so hot and the windows can only be opened an inch. The shower room is tiny and i barely fitting under the shower head being over 6'1 and the water seemed to overflow every time i had a shower onto the bathroom floor. The place is very basic , uninviting , receptionist was there to do the job and not much more, not very welcoming and very basic in every way - If it was £40 a night then I would say its well worth it but for £80 you expect a lot more than this - no breakfast , no restaurant! It is like some office complex that has been converted into myriads of corridors and small rooms! They even had a fan installed and switched on when we entered the room presumably because of the number of complaints of the heat and inability to cool the place or even open a window properly or have any form of balcony to sit on! My advice - go for a B&B or something off Airbnb as I found quite a few nice places but the girlfriend insisted on booking a "Hotel" - This is more like a hostel than a Hotel - I was half expecting to be drugged, dragged away and tortured in some basement torture chamber lol
