It can get crowded at times, but that is expected. This gym has the feel that 5-10 years ago it was amazing, but that nothing has been updated since. The 2 stair masters have had the same "broken" signs for 4 months. At this point, fix them or honestly just remove them from the gym. It's a tease. Multiple other cardio equipment broken, only a few bikes are operational. Cleanliness is average. I've never seen more than one person working at a time (almost always a teenager) so maybe cleaning happens when they are closed? Not sure. The cleaning wipes are consistently empty and water spills occur without being cleaned up pretty regularly. Overall - it's a fine gym. It does technically have everything necessary, albeit a lot of cardio equipment is not functional. The free tanning is a plus, if you're into that.

That said, there are a few issues that genuinely detract from the experience. First, the dress code. I was asked to get off a treadmill mid-workout because my midriff was showing. I wasn't aware this was against the rules. I wear standard gym attire and don't typically comb through fine-print dress codes, so being stopped in the middle of a workout felt unnecessary and frankly frustrating. I disagree with this policy and think it's worth reconsidering. Second, the app is extremely inefficient. To check children into childcare, you're required to sign out and back into the app, which is inconvenient on its own. Combined with the fact that there's little to no cell service in the building, it becomes a real hassle rather than a helpful tool. Lastly, the amenities are unreliable. The hot tub and sauna are frequently out of service due to maintenance. At this point, it feels more like the expectation than the exception. Overall, the gym has strong potential and some real positives, but these policies and operational issues make it difficult to fully enjoy or justify.

Now the not so good. If you are not able to come after 10:00PM and before 7:00AM, this place gets extremely crowded, especially during the week days in the early evening hours. The Corporation keeps attracting new members, so the crowds are growing. Equipment does break down and if there are only 1 or 2 of a specific machine, having one out of service causes natural delays. The vast majority of members simply do not care how long they linger on a machine. They watch videos, check DM's, read emails, etc. It is nothing to have a machine tied up by the same person for 15-20 minutes. So if you are the type of person that wants to pop in for a quick 1 hour all around workout, Planet Fitness is not your place. If you don't mind spending 2 or more hours in a very leisurely workout, This place is for you. Especially if you have to have constant contact with the cyber world. You also have to be able to tolerate being around people who do not wipe down their equipment after use even though there are ample cleaning station throughout the place.

I stopped in today, took a tour of the facility, and joined. The place is a lot smaller than H-Trax, and doesn't have as many amenities, but it is very clean, and the employees are friendly. So far so good. I will write more after I have had a few more workouts ... Cheers!
