Good coaching and good workouts. I would recommend PKP as a supplement to athletics and/or running.

This place is where private personal trainers take on clients who do not have an affiliation with Planet Fitness. You can pay $5 per day if you want to meet occasionally. What the casual person may see upon entering: You will hear lots of grunting and weights being dropped. Do not be intimidated. The folks (men and ladies) are doing this for competitions (usually). The place may seem run down (older weights / machines). Do not let this deceive you. The place may seem small. Again - do not let this deceive you. They have smaller rooms / areas. They do have classes upstairs that seem pretty intense (not my cup of tea). Why 4 Stars: 1. I followed my trainer (which means I chose my trainer at a location where we could work out). My previous trainers were great but I did not necessarily like the gym (too crowded or not enough room to work out). 2. Equipment variety. Example - Cardio Equipment. Usually when you go into a gym, you will have a treadmill, a stepper, a recumbent bike, bike, elliptical) - All one type. Amerifit provides a variety of machines such as Cybex. Cybex is your traditional elliptical but you can control the elevation as well. They also have machines that will simulate ice skating 3. Intensity - You do see people seriously working out. This can either motivate or intimidate you. It motivates me. I can also see folks doing exercises correctly. 4. The folks are nice. All the associates I have met are very nice. I apologize to the serious body builders for writing this review, but I think this is a very good secret to share. Find you a trainer, meet him/her at Amerifit, and workout. This is not a chain gym where everything is new with standard (usually leased) equipment.

I won't do that - no lunks! - so we have only the outside today. The thirty minute circuit worked well for me today and then I was able to pop into the locker room for a decent shower. Good changing area and the hot water worked well. Definitely a good stop. One caution is the parking area. It is narrow and you must follow the directional signs. There is absolutely not enough room to fit two cars past each other and I did have some challenge finding a long enough space for the Sprinter van. Myself and friend go together to the Castle Shannon Planet Fitness which is the most conveniently located location for the both of us. However, we have tried and visited a lot of Planet Fitness's in the Pittsbugh and Erie areas and the cold hard fact that Castle Shannon owner has to face is this place is way too small, machines and weights appear as crammed in a small place, the locker room is very small and often hard to find a locker, especially in the evening hours, and the parking lot is a nightmare to find parking. Rite Aid, just across the street is now an empty building and is just asking to be moved into. Let's just do it owner of Planet Fitness, let's make the move and make your customers happy. The current location is just to small for the volume of customers that visit there. All other locations I have been visited are great compared to this one. Come on, just admit that this one needs to move to a bigger location to .

The renovation has been slow and uncomfortable to workout. Jan 24th there was very little workout equipment. Feb 22nd there is more equipment but still only 4 treadmills. Still very much under construction and a note that March 1st my couples membership would increase to $75 ($49.99 + $24.99) monthly. I spoke with the new fitness manager who advised construction should be complete by June. I requested my membership was cancelled with the customer service person at the front desk that day. My credit card was charged on Feb 28th. My husband emailed today March 2nd and I will follow up in person to cancel my membership.

I know about how people love that new, well-greased equipment. I know about how people like their nationwide memberships and multiple convenient locations. Greentree doesn't fit those descriptions. At all. Which is actually why it's so awesome. From their simple, easy-to-navigate website: "The Greentree SportsPlex has always prided itself on being a friendly multi-sport family fitness facility, catering to the fitness fanatic, weekend warrior, and young athlete alike. Our staff is comprised of professional athletes, former collegiate student-athletes, and exercise enthusiast who take pride is helping our members with their fitness and health goals, no matter how small or large the goal is." Hidden at the top of a windy hill, this place is the epitome of of gritty, down-to-earth fitness. I have attended Marcy's hardcore Zumba classes on Mondays, and she is a rockstar. I've been to my fair share of Zumba classes, and her choreography is challenging yet fun and very dance-oriented, which I love. She integrates her dance background very well, and her song choices are always top notch. She also adds a great ab workout at the end. Kids run around getting ready for soccer practice, and there are activities for people of all ages and walks of life. Drop in classes are only $7, which is less than many fitness centers' package classes. The facilities may be older, but they are very clean and they provide towels if you need them. Accessible and caters to exactly the audience that its mission states it caters to. I like it.
