Pittsburgh FIT is such a welcoming environment for people at any skill level. I decided to join a 6-week challenge because I needed an extra kick in the butt to get motivated after some weight gain. I've since joined as a member. There's a variety of class times to choose from, from early in the morning to late into the evening. The 9:30 a.m. class is my normal class. The workouts are always a fun challenge and there's always different. They combine cardio, weight training and body resistance exercises, and everything wraps up within an hour. Trainers always go over all of the movements, usually with pep and a smile, and will correct you to ensure you have the best form. In the past, I've been a part of big box gyms where you lift and use machines at will. While they're cheap, I made excuses not to go because it was always the same motions. But Pittsburgh FIT has challenged me athletically for the first time in years. There's always the push of trying a little more if you can, but adjusting any movements so things are best for you, too. I love weight lifting, so I usually go heavier for those parts of the workouts, but I have a jenky ankle after a bad sprain last year, so I opt out of box jumps and things that are tough on those joints for something a little less straining. My husband an I joined this gym for a 6 week challenge. We both needed to lose weight and get in shape. They gave us a meal plan and the classes are coach led the entire time. We met our 6 week goals and decided to join the gym to continue our healthy and fit journey. We absolutely love it here and cannot say enough good things about this gym. The coaches are amazing. So knowledgeable and so encouraging. They make you feel so welcome when you walk in the door and so supportive throughout the classes. We also love how the other members are so supportive as well. People we just met in our classes were high fiving us and telling us good job and this is how it is every class. It's such a diverse atmosphere too. It doesn't matter who you are or what your background is, everyone is welcome with open arms! We recommend this gym to everyone. It's the best!!! read more

I dropped in to Pittsburgh Fit today. Gym was super clean. I was immediately greeted by a coach who was really welcoming. The community was great. They were so welcoming. The WOD was a blast. The coaches kept a close eye on all of the regulars and me. This was great. I feel a lot of the time "drop ins" get ignored by coaches. Pitt Fit is a killer gym and I'll be back for sure. read more

I was in need of an intervention to get back to myself--to get moving, feel strong and transform my eating from crap to fuel. Pittsburgh FIT was WAY more than I could have hoped for. I signed up for a 6 week challenge and met all of my goals and then some. This place (and a GYM to boot!) is one of the most inclusive, welcoming environments I have encountered in Pittsburgh. Whether you are young, old, black, white, big, little, gay, straight, trans -- Pittsburgh FIT reminds us that we are all HUMAN. And exercise should be fun, should be collaborative and relational. As a PT its great to see people of all levels of fitness working out together in a safe and effective manner. While some workouts seem difficult, the adaptations they provide allow you to work up to a more intense program. Ok here is my take on Pittsburgh Fit. I drove past this place at least 4x a week and on January 31st decided to stop in and see what it was a about. As I looked around it wasn't the typical gym & it wasn't crowded with "gym buffs". So I joined the 6 week challenge. First the workouts are hard,vigorous, yet awesome, the meal prep was good and there was a great support group on social media. The coaches especially Erika, Anthony & Dave were amazing and modified any workout that I needed. I can only speak about the am crew. Jodi the owner is great and very personable. 3x a week I pushed, cried, changed the way I looked at food, pushed harder and after 6 weeks I'm SO HAPPY I joined. I would have liked more in depth on measurements. Just a suggestion maybe do measurements with pics before challenge then again post challenge for more accuracy and to see what changes were made. Although I had an accountability coach I didn't correspond with him much, more so with the coaches who were on deck. I have become a member with this great gym. I would recommend all my friends to come for a visit which is free for first time, get a great workout and decide to become a member. read more

On a whim I signed up for their 6week challenge. I was nervous as I'm not into this type of workout. However everyone there is very welcoming, the coaches are great at breaking down the exercises and keeping you motivated. I love this gym! It's a diverse community with great classes that are easy to modify for any fitness level (or to work around an injury). Every class is different so some days I have to focus on the muscles and skills I'm bad at (and most need to work on) while other days I get the thrill of being at the top of the class. They have been really safe and careful with COVID-19 as well. Everyone is diligent about wearing a mask and the gym has been great with communication. read more

This place is awesome! I've been going here since February, and I feel like part of a great community. A good friend first recommended this place to me and before becoming a member, I test drove through a Groupon. After that first introductory rate, I made the decision to become a 3x/Week member. From the start, the coaches were welcoming and super helpful. When people think of "crossfit", they think of very difficult workouts that only a limited number of people can do. At least that's what I thought. Since becoming a member here, I've surprised myself multiple times. I've discovered that many of the things I couldn't do before, a lot of it was mental. And that's thanks in huge part to Jodi, Jami, and Dave who have been not only helpful but unconditionally encouraging. Here everyone is challenged no matter level you're at, and everything is modifiable. Plus, there are multiple plans to fit your schedule and needs. You can pay for twice a week all the way up to unlimited. And during the course of the week, there are morning, afternoon, and evening sessions dependent on the day. Saturdays have been a lot of partner workouts which are especially fun! Give this place a try, and I don't think you'll be disappointed! read more
