Rocky is so sweet, patient, and understanding. He always answered all of my many questions. He has lots of sayings to help you become a better driver that stay with you long after you have had your lesson. Today we drove around the DMV I will be taking the test on during rush hour. PROS: - Homer was right on time - He gave lots of useful tips/ rules that I overlooked/ did not know - He asked about my goals and we practiced around the DMV. He knew the exact route CONS: - Some parts of the car weren't working. The back camera and the button that adjusted the side view mirrors (not a big deal, I just did it manually) - When I was driving around where the test will be, he got really impatient. He was frustrated and made snappy comments and would say things under his breath when I missed what he said or when I did not get what he said the first time. Apparently I was too cautious. I was overwhelmed during rush hour and all he was telling me while driving that at one point he kind of aggressively said "you should know this- maybe you shouldn't take the test but take another lesson with me". That is why I booked the lesson for stuff I may have missed! He repeated it several times. I did not say anything and then asked if i had someone i can practice with/ car and I said yes. After, he after did say that practicing with anyone will be good. At the end he said that my driving wasn't bad and that I could pass the test. Not sure where the attitude came from then. Good touch up driving school with useful tips, but if you want a more chill and less stressful lesson/s I may consider another option.

Under his instruction, I went from being extremely anxious to ready to drive on freeways and LA streets and take my exam. My actual DMV driving exam was extremely traumatic but I still passed the first time, and everything Angel reviewed with me was highly applicable. So, when the time came to schedule my 17-year-old, it was easy peasy and stress-free. I really appreciated how flexible they were with scheduling, too. I wish I could give them a 10/5…read more We did our mandatory six hours with them and it was absolutely amazing, great instructors who clearly care about them learning, taking great notes and rooting for them. They come right to your door, on time, friendly instructors - every single one of them. I honestly don't know how they find people with such great attitudes. My daughter gets a little apprehensive about new situations so everyone made her really comfortable. They said she did great. So! Because of that, we bought three more classes (extra six hours of experience). The first new lesson, she got over her fear of the freeway and did really well. She was so scared when it's her parents but with an instructor, she got over that. The second new lesson? This was the issue and absolutely kudos to Drivers Ed Direct. So, she gets panic attacks sometimes. It used to be really bad where she would miss school and it was almost daily and she hated it but she couldn't get through them, it was a rough year at the time. But, we got them mostly under control but for whatever reason... she had one about 15 minutes before her instructor showed up. I couldn't get her out of it (it's awful to see, as a parent), she was trying but she couldn't breath, short of breath. I greeted the instructor and said I have to deal with 'something' first and he was so patient, when he didn't need to be, as we were on the clock. She was in no shape to drive, it was bad... so I told him that, unfortunately, we had to cancel but we'd just eat the costs, no probably at all. He was totally amazing, my God... I was so stressed and he was like, "Totally no worries, I live close, it's okay." Nicest guy, per usual with them. The day after, I just emailed them to just apologize for that and I didn't even bring-up the cost or anything because, yeah, I should be on the hook for that, it's not their problem. But, guess what. They said it's okay and didn't even charge anything! They are going to reschedule it! I had to come on here immediately and pass that along because they absolutely didn't have to do that -- at all. But that's who they are - they care.

My son got to try out a class with Coach Roy (who was wonderful!) to see if it was a good fit for him, and now he takes lessons weekly with Coach Justice (equally fantastic!). The whole staff is warm and friendly, and they accommodate to each child's needs. Coach Justice provides great structure and challenge for my son, while also allowing him the agency to be creative in what he's learning and working on. My son is engaged and focused the whole hour, and is really proud to show us at home the progress he's made each week. FYI, if this applies to you: they are vendored through Harbor Regional for self determination for social rec. Highly recommend!
