The mashed red-skin potatoes were very flavorful. Baked chicken and shredded meet with au jus - yum! We dined in the spacious upper room. The moist carrot cake was a standout. Do try it! All in all, a good time.

I saw ductwork in the rafters; maybe the AC was not working? We went for Mother's Day brunch. It was probably not their best culinary showing, buffets usually aren't. I was not a fan of the Cheesy Hash Brown and Egg Casserole. It was the texture, not so much the taste. The French toast was a good mixture of cinnamon and sugar, but only if you could find the pieces that weren't dried out. I liked the bacon: salty, well cooked and crunchy. The flank steak was tender and tasty. Prepared to a perfect medium and marinaded in a nice meaty broth. The chicken in the Lemon Chicken Piccata was overcooked, dry, resulting in a tough chew. I did enjoy the Mushroom Strudel. A moist dish with a tasty gravy drizzle. I would've liked to try the bread pudding with caramel sauce, but they apparently ran out. The other desserts were ok. They looked like they were hastily cut into slices and served on the thinnest of paper plates. I could tell those running the place were also a bit frustrated; they made their feelings rather vocal, easy for all seated to hear (that's like a major rule of restauranting: the issues in the back should never be exposed in the front, where the customers can hear.) All in all, not a good first impression. But, I am willing to return and have a normal sit-down meal. Then I can see how they do. I have been told that their service and food is usually pretty solid. We shall see.....

Stopped at this stylish bar/restaurant last night with three friends after attending an art opening…read moredown the street. Took a while to get seated, as the attendant seemed to be busy carrying out plates of food and making drinks at the end of the bar. After getting seated, we ordered drinks and three entrees (two specialty salads, a pasta meal, and a burger). The drinks came relatively fast, but the service on the food was incredibly slow. Well over an hour's wait. At one point I guessed, "They must be growing lettuce for the salad." Food arrived, but incorrectly prepared on one of the salads. The server offered "I specifically told them dressing on the side...I can bring it back and get it made over." We had already waited well over an hour, so we just took it as it was fearing an even longer delay. Actually, three of the meals were quite good (except for the overpriced and totally unremarkable burger), but I doubt any of us will return after the sluggish service. It was such a lengthy wait for the food and the server was so harried and overworked that ordering desserts was not offered. We had to get up and walk in search of a way to pay our bill. Good food, but that does not in itself make for a great dining experience.

This place is right off a bike path and bikers were stopping by and grabbing a drink. The outer patio was pretty packed too even though it was pretty hot outside. They had a food menu and it was pretty comprehensive though my only complaint about the food was that the menu price didn't reflect what was actually being charged when the server rang it up. The menu says $20 for the wagyu burger but you get rang up for $22. I didn't try to fuss. Anyways, the beer absolutely blew me out of the way so it's a rare case where I will let water go under the bridge. Their version of the fries that they call potato smash was very phenomenal and probably some of the best fries I had though it looked pretty easy to possibly make if i were to attempt this at home. We got other food items like chips and salsa which were also really good! The team was very knowledgeable about their side of selection because my wife can only have the vegan options. Most of their ciders were pretty good too. They had a dessert cider that was featured as well and they let me try a sample. It was phenomenal and I ended up taking plenty of cider home with me. The staff here were a pleasure to chat with and wait times for the food weren't bad either. I didn't even mention that the theme of this place is absolutely phenomenal and beautiful too. Overall, i don't know if I'll be back to this part of town but I will come back here strictly for the hard cider from This place. Thankfully they also sell their products in Janesville which to me is close enough.

When we got to the Vintage Brewing we had hoped to sit outside but everyone else had the same idea. It would have been a 20-30 wait so we chose to sit inside at one of their high tops. The area was in the bar and roomy we could see everything that was going on around the bar but kind of in the way of the thorough way of the kitchen where food came out and where they get their drinks from the bartenders. Our server walked by often so we received great service. I ordered the Rueben, it was delicious I'm so happy the have found another so close to home. The corned beef was thick, with just the right amount of juiciness, sauerkraut, thousand Island dressing and the best marble rye bread toasted perfect perfectly. I ordered straight fries well seasoned. I also ordered their homemade root beer, I'm not a fan. It tasted more like black licorice than root beer. I'd definitely go back and order visit its sister establishment in Madison on East Washington Avenue.

It is located along the Wisconsin River a short drive outside of Madison. Vintage Brewing is right on the river, giving the patio a really pretty setting. The patio is large and has a great spot for bands with plenty of tables for the audience. We decided to order dinner while we were there. I am not a beer drinker so I ordered the Wisconsinite ( a blackberry brandy old-fashioned). It wasn't bad, but definitely more on the sweet side than I care for. We shared the fried cheese curds, which had a great flavor, though not the best I've had. I really enjoyed my blackened salmon salad. The salmon was delicious and the salad was fresh. My husband also enjoyed his pulled pork sandwich. They had some fun swag for sale, and I came home with a cute pink t-shirt. All in all, Vintage Brewing is a cool place with beautiful location a great vibe. If you have a chance, catch The Sparks Band (a fun cover band).

Everything about the evening was exceptional. The first course was bruschetta, followed by a refreshing fresh salad with lemon dressing. The main course was flank steak, cooked perfectly. This was followed by a cheese board with delectable cheese samples from local dairies. For dessert, they had an absolutely amazing home made vanilla ice cream. It was rich, creamy, and very tasty. We enjoyed it so much, that we immediately reserved a second dinner which had cider braised pork shoulder as the entree. Again, the meal was exceptional. It started with prosciutto wrapped cantaloupe. I've never had prosciutto sliced so thinly, it was tender and flavorful. This was followed by a butternut squash soup that was thick and rich. I didn't know butternut squash could be so flavorful. I cleaned my bowl so thoroughly that the host jokingly asked if they forgot to serve me. The pork was next. Served with honey crisp apples. It was tender and perfectly juicy. Again, a cheese board was served before dessert. All very tasty local cheeses. For dessert, a French apple tart. I could have eaten a whole tray, it was so good. I've now been there over 20 times. Every time has been exceptional. They offer a variety of wines, ciders, and local beer to go with your meal. They also make their own vermouth which is sweet, with a hint of clove. It's so good, in fact, that we like it on the rocks. Not mixed. The host, Mary Ann, is wonderful. She takes time before each course to provide background on the home grown or locally sourced ingredients. She also gives a history of the farm and her family and, if the season permits, offers a tour of their farm. Marc (Mary Ann's Husband) is the chef. He is a culinary wizard. As I mentioned, I've been back over 20 times, which equates to almost 80 different dishes. All of them amazing! My only criticism (it's a minor one) is that the room is small and cozy and it can get a bit loud inside. It depends on the crowd, but it can be a bit hard to carry a conversation. In summary: exceptional food and exceptional people. I could not recommend it more. Update (12/13/24): We've been coming back to Campo di Bella for the last 5 years. At least 60 times or more and we've never been disappointed. Marc and Mary Ann are incredible hosts that continue to create amazing meals and experiences.
