I finally decided to write a review on here. I have been with Kimmie since I moved back to Fresno in 2011. I didn't know who to choose when I decided to call Preen: I had just heard of it being a great salon and it was co-owned by a stylist who was part of a salon that I went to in high school (Imagine). When I spoke to the receptionist, all I said is can you give me someone who is good with curly hair, and that is how I found Kimmie. She has always been nothing but professional and sweet every time I have seen her. I have always had compliments on my hair cut even from other stylists who have worked with my hair for weddings / other events that I have been a member of. I went to Preen for my first professional color, and I was not disappointed. Preen is a lovely salon: comfy chairs, shampoo head massages, complimentary tea and coffee, shopping while you process, but most importantly friendly staff and skilled stylists/colorists. My stylist/colorist was Edward. He did a fabulous job correcting my years of out-of-the-box dye jobs. My hair color had dimension now and looks natural and healthy. Thanks Edward! read more

My sister went to Preen and came home looking scalped with a goth hair color. This was her first and last visit to this clueless business. She is a rather elegant woman. She likes elegant places and Preen certainly looks the part. She went for a cut​ and color and instructed the stylist to layer her hair. It kept getting cut shorter and shorter until it was a bit longer than a buzz cut. Her hair color was a mid brown. The color application that was applied was almost black. When she called the next day to see if at least the color could be addressed, they gave her a new appointment. The new stylest charged her $80.00 to fix the first stylest mistake. This was not explained​ to her when she agreed to ​go back and have it fixed. I would not recommend​ this place to anyone. read more

Amazing!!! Carrie, my stylist of many years, moved here about a year ago and I could not be happier. I love the shampoo bowls they are the most relaxing bowls I have ever been in. Carrie is absolutly phomnonial. She knows her stuff I have have never got a bad haircut or color from her. I always let her do what she wants and I am never disappointed. I went for the first time because of Aimee to get a facial. She's the only person I trust and I know she will take care of all my skin care needs. She is very honest and knowledgable and knows her stuff! I left there yesterday with a clean, fresh face! I Don't wear much makeup but she also helped me try a very light, natural look which I loved. Preen it HORRIBLE! I've been to a lot of salons in town and preen is the WORST! I most defiantly not going back. Everyone is just sooo RUDE! Bad customer service Just Snoopy little girls with bad attitudes!! Will NOT be going back to that DUMP! (Even Mike the owner is so rude bad attitude!!!!!!) I tried Preen and Lawrence gave a nice cut, however I will NEVER go back to the salon. After my cut, I bought two bottles of product for $30 each ($60 total) and was not happy with it after trying it at home. I took the bottles back to return for either internal credit or refund, however they would not do either, as it turns out to be there policy not to take returns. With this economy! I hope they can afford to lose customers with a policy like that! I will go back to the AVEDA salon where they guarantee their products and treat their customers like gold. read more

If you are going for the first time, ask for a tour - vibrating shampoo chair, powder rooms you wish were in your home, and the quiet, good-smelling lushness of the spa. And whenever you go, allow some time and take your gift shopping list because there is some great stuff in the boutique and the gratis gift packaging carries serious cache. If you are fortunate enough to get an appointment with Eric Gomez (who is one of the owners) you will be getting cut by a TIGI master artist who has styles published in magaizines like "Vogue" and does hair for both London and New York's Fashion Weeks. I live outside Washington, DC now, but every trip back to California involves a trip to Preen. And I always go on Preen's facebook page just to see how it's decorated for the new season! Edward is awesome!! He is very professional and on top of his game. I just sit down and let him work. I always leave with beautiful color and cut. He cares very much for his clients. When I needed an onsite stylist for my wedding to do my hair and four bridesmaids I hired Edward. He made sure we all looked great, and when one of my bridesmaids accidentally messed her hair up he re-styled it for her. He even stayed untill I put my wedding dress on to make sure I didn't need to be re-styled. I would recommend him to anyone. He's exceptional at what he does, and he's also a wonderful person. read more

Go to Kimmy! Preen has very talented hairstylists and Estheticians, but Kimmy does my hair and has always made it look stunning! She gives each client all her focus for the best over all experience, as well as provides each person with quality work that is proved time and time again in the finished hairstyle at the end of every appointment. I made a mistake going to another salon after I tried to book a last minute appointment with her and couldn't get in (proof again that she is talented and in demand). She had to correct my botched color and cut, and I have vowed to never make that mistake again. I don't think people realize the importance of having a hairstylist you can trust! Whether you have dark hair or blonde hair, short hair or long hair, she does a phenomenal job. She is extremely knowledgeable in her craft and is the person I recommend everyone looking for new stylist of their own to go to! read more

I followed my hairstylist, Jenn K, here. I will follow her anywhere!! So this was my first time at Preen. It's fancy! The receptionists were super friendly, offered me a beverage. The lobby has shelves of candles and cute trinkets. Jenn K does an AMAZING cut and color. The best part, I don't feel ugly after 3 months- her cuts are so great that my hair grows out in the cut, not in an awkward uneven way. My friends and I went to Preen for a girls day. I got a facial, my other friends got a massage and a hair cut/blow out. The front desk girls were rude and unwelcoming. We weren't given any kind of tour or shown the spa lounge. I waited past my appointment time with no explanation. I asked prices of products to purchase and the girl at the desk just shrugged. My friend was done with her service an hour before me and she just sat in the main waiting area and no one offered for her to go to the spa lounge or anything. I don't know if you have to be a regular to get good service here or what but I won't be back. They need to decide if they are a hair salon or a spa because it sure doesn't give the relaxing spa feeling I was hoping for. My facial was good, but the customer service was so bad that I will find a new place. read more

Terrible experience. Came here for hair and makeup before engagement photos. Appointment started late they knew we were on a tight time frame. Stylist not friendly and unpleasant. Asked for loose curls hair fell flat within one hour of leaving salon. Engagement photos ruined. Put so much product in hair that my hair tangled like never before. Took me an hour and lots of pulled hair to get rid of tangles. Was going to have family makeup and hair done here before wedding. Now not a chance. Go elsewhere. read more

I was extremely disappointed with this salon. I thought I could get the gray ombre hair I wanted and after paying for 4 sessions with Issac all I got was blonde highlights and it was not at all what I asked for. Finally on the last appointment he put in some gray in but just on the blonde highlights he gave me. I went here a few weeks ago for the first time and was so impressed! My old hairdresser moved to Visalia and I was dreading attempting to find someone new. Lorie Ly cut my hair and she did an amazing job! During the consultation at the beginning, I could tell she was really listening and clarified so we were on the same page. The sink for the shampooing was actually comfortable for a sink. The chair that you sit in massages you and it feels great! Lorie was very easy to talk to the whole time and very friendly! I was thoroughly impressed with how it turned out. She did an even better job than my last hair stylist and it was the same price. The salon was so cute and chic. The only bad thing was it was very hard to find a parking spot in their lot! I'd definitely recommend Lorie and the entire store to everyone! :) read more

Tiffany is excellent. She is a perfectionist who makes sure your hair looks flawless, all while explaining what she is doing so there are no surprises. She goes above and beyond and I've been very happy with my haircuts. I did have a bad haircut from another stylist there and Tiffany fixed it completely. The management at Preen also did an excellent job making sure that I was satisfied after a bad experience. I recommend Preen but it's Tiffany in particular who deserves 5 stars. read more

I went to Preen for the first time last week. Seryna did an amazing job on my hair and gave me my first BKT. I would recommend going to see her if you have wavy, curly or frizzy hair. The salon is beautiful and she is very nice, but most of all, you will love your hair!
