Do not goto Rena. Completely botched my hair. I'm telling you! Trust me, I went home crying because of how aweful it looked, she's charged $400 for a cut and color and didn't tell me till after. BIGGEST SCAM!!! READ HIDDEN REVIEWS!! first off let me start off by saying that Rena is not the hairstylist that anyone would want!! I went in there for my birthday, expecting the best outcome from the salon. Went for a facial, a haircut, and color. The facial was amazing Customer service is amazing.. then when I sat down in the salon chair, Rena came off as really nice and super friendly and acted like she knew what she's doing with your hair. I gave her the full rundown of what i wanted, every detail, I showed her pictures and everything, the consultation was great, or so I thought. I only wanted the tips of my hair lightened with a soft blend and she ended up bleaching 80% of my hair and was I was left with fried orange hair, she did not blend the bleach well into the darker part of my hair. It just look like a dark black block on top of my head and a giant orange block for the rest of my head. Not only that, but the haircut she gave me was not the one I asked for AT ALL. The layers were uneven, one side was longer than the other other side. There were even parts of of my head that we weren't cut at all the frame around my face was left uneven as well and also some parts that we weren't cut. Then she went in and razored and thinned out my hair, and I told her not to do that too much because I have wavy hair and will look frizzy and she went ham with that razor. So it's almost like as if she enhanced the dried split ends that she had already given me from the intense bleach bath she gave me. I'm telling you I looked awful and you can tell that everyone else in that salon thought so too by the way they were looking at me. This whole process was $400 by the way. $400!!!!!! Just for me to leave sobbing and feeling so ugly on my birthday. When I spoke to the people at the salon the next day because I couldn't live with this, they said there was nothing they can do because Rena had been working there for so long and they chose having Rena as an employee rather than having a happy customer who just threw down $400. I have a feeling that this is what the salon does often based off of a lot of the negative reviews. I saw they take hundreds of dollars from you and you leave with ugly hair and there is nothing that they will do about it. The only thing that you can do for yourself is by hair dye and color your own hair or drop down more money to fix your hair by someone else . When I spoke with the manager, she said that Rena can go in and color my hair back to dark brown so that $400 was just for nothing. And when I complained further the manager denied that my hair looked bad and kind of chuckled at how I was crying over the phone. I'm a stay at home mom and I don't get to treat myself often to anything nice, my life is centered around my kids so when I had this one day to just pamper myself and feel good and it was ruined because of Rena and her enabling manger, and they will laugh in your face on how you hate it. read more

After a lot of breakage and many months with a hairstylist, I decided to go to someone else for advice. I came here. She was mortified by my hair and said my old stylist majorly messed it up. That my old hairstylist overlapped the bleach and left it on way too long. Thanks to that there was major breakage. It was also very uneven. Embarrassing. It didn't look normal. Going to my awesome new hairstylist, she cut a lot of the dead ends from the damage that was done. My old hairstylist never took initiative to try to help my hair. My new hairstylist made a suggestion to get it healthier. A Kerastaste treatment. It will help fix all the damage that was done from my old hairstylist after a few treatments. Couldn't be more thankful! She is extremely nice and easy to talk to. She has been doing hair for a long time and you can tell. She really knows and is upfront about how to make it better. The salon is so beautiful! It is very clean and decorated really nice! This place and my new hair stylist earned every single star! They have music playing and it's really calm. Great environment! My old hairstylist was confronted of her wrong doing and wouldn't admit or offer to help. I gave her 5 stars on the first visit. If only I would've known that months down the road she would completely destroy it! (Mica Sotelo) Stand firm on my 1 . I wanted to leave this review because I think this really speaks to the exceptional customer service Jen K provides. First of all she's amazing at what she does, and she's fast. But not like I'm trying to rush through you fast, it's because she's done this for so long and has nailed down her technique. Which is beneficial for her, she can serve more clients, and for us, cause we don't have to be stuck at the salon all day. Anyways, today I had an appointment at 845am I got there and long story short it seemed like Jen forgot to enter into her books. I told her no worries at all I know she's busy (and hey people can we remember our stylists are human too, they make mistakes just like us) it must've just slipped her mind. I was expecting not to be able to get in till maybe sometime later this week or later. No, Jen made it a point to get me in ASAP (and I know she is booked out) same day in fact! I love this place, it's a beautiful salon! I went to Jenn and she did a fabulous job! It was pretty damaged and brassy and she did an amazing job fixing it. It's now the blonde that I want with babylights and ashy roots blended nicely. This review is for Jenae and it's long overdue. I've been going to Jenae for almost 6 years now for everything from a Brazilian blowout, haircuts, balayage and extensions. She does it ALL!!! And she does it well. I can't say enough great things about her work. I tell everybody about her and now my mom goes to her. The thing I love about Jenae is that she's consistent and keeps her word about scheduling and getting realistic and achievable results. She continues her education and goes to (really expensive) classes to learn the newest method to do things. She will try her HARDEST to fit you in (even with her packed schedule) and she replies within 24 hours always! I can't say the same for soo many other stylists I have tried. She's about her bag and will not ever miss up her client relationships. Super professional. I now live in the Bay Area and still make the trek to come into Fresno to come see her. I visited Preen for the first time on Saturday, it was the cutest hair boutique I have ever been to! I even did some shopping while my hair was processing. I went in to get my blonde-ish/light brown hair back to its normal chocolate brown for Fall by Tera. I ended up with RED hair. In the sunlight it was almost a burgundy color. I had to go back to a different salon and get it fixed and was left with two choices, either stripping my hair to get the red out of it, or going a shade and a half darker. I went with the latter since my hair was already fried. But super disappointed that I had to pay $160 for RED hair that was FARRR from what I wanted. The salon is nice, however, the stylists are snobby and think they know hair a lot more than they really do. **UPDATE: Received a personal message from "Tera T." on Yelp saying "We can't make everyone happy... Especially the crazies!"
