Had an odd issue with my wheel alignment and the mechanic went out of his way to figure it out and show me the issue. I was at the dealer today trying to get a torque converter fixed, something that is covered under my warranty, but the dealer was trying to push me to purchase a transmission maintenance service, saying that it is something that Dodge would want me to do first as a formality. They quoted a price that seemed high so I called Precision Tune Auto Care and explained the situation and the mechanic on the phone told me if they want me to do that, they should be covering EVERYTHING. It takes integrity to turn down a possible job to let a customer know their rights. read more

I had a Groupon for an oil change. Everything seemed to go okay. But when I got in my car to drive home, the engine sort of "balked", and continued to do so, as I was driving. Not sure why I didn't just turn around and go back to them, but as it so happened, the car literally DIED on E. Lake St. right in front of another Precision Tune! Some good Samaritans pushed me into their lot. When they examined the car, they found some vacuum hoses had been TORN OUT! I explained that the car was just fine before that. They fixed the problem and sent the bill to the Roseville store. (I didn't know that Roseville is corporate owned and the one on 33rd Ave. and E. Lake St. is a franchise.) I will NEVER go back to that shop on Larpenteur in Roseville!!!! read more

There were a couple reasons why I chose to go here for my oil change. One, I'd been looking for a new shop since moving so thought I'd try here cuz it was close enough to where I work. Two, with the coupon from their website I was also able to get my tires rotated for a very affordable price. Unfortunately, the convenience of the location was reduced when you take into account the parking lot had zero place to park (not including the single cramped handicap space) to even check in, and no room to even turn your car around. When my car was done, the guy at the desk said one of my tires was going to need to be replaced. I asked to make sure my tires were rotated, he said he thought so. I didn't feel confident about the answer but didn't feel I had a way of checking it. He also told me I needed a new battery, even though it had recently been replaced. When I got home later I noticed my personal info I dictated (and spelled) to him was all wrong on the paperwork, minus my phone number. Additionally, they also had the wrong size tires recommended on the form (but somehow they'd rotated mine?). You can easily see the correct size on the tire sidewall but they have down 215/60R16. So I felt even less confident things were done as I was told. 'Fortunately', I remembered that there's a mark on my right rear tire from some damage in a parking ramp a few months back. When it originally happened, I took photos. Sure enough, same mark on the same tire (right rear) still exactly lines up with my wheel. What's more, my left rear tire has been consistently losing a tiny amount of air faster than the others. Had they been rotated, it should show in a different location that it's losing air, but it's still the left rear tire (they did put air in all the tires). I understand this was an incredible deal, and it seems like they are understaffed and overbooked. I would have just appreciated the truth, or even having been told up front that they couldn't rotate my tires that day. And perhaps, when making the appointment, letting people know where's a safe place to drop off/park their car. read more

Precision Tune had a coupon online for a synthetic blend oil change with tire rotation for $34.90. I called and asked if I could upgrade to a full synthetic with tire rotation for a small amount more and was told yes. When I took my car in I was charged $65.97. I asked how much a full synthetic oil change was and I was quoted $55. I think they ripped me off. read more

Very disappointed was hoping for a better result. I had bought a Groupon for an alignment,, when I called to make an appointment, I was told to drop off in the morning and they would call when finished. It was 4:30 and I hadn't received a phone call so I called. They hadn't even started the alignment yet. They asked if I would like the car today or tomorrow, I requested that I would need it finished today since it was my daughter's car,, and she needs her vehicle. When I went to pick up the car it was ready but there was oil all Over the inside of the drivers door, on the seat, on the steering wheel, on the arm rest, and oil on the floor carpet. I just had my daughter's car cleaned to surprise her.. when I got home I noticed the valve caps were missing on the front tires,, and the tires were inflated to 42psi ,, which they shouldn't be over 37psi... very sloppy job,, very disappointed to say the least. I went to the Precision Tune Auto Center on Larpenter Avenue in Minnesota for the first time today for an oil change for my Honda. I purchased a synthetic blend oil change. I have had this car for five years and I know that full synthetic is recommended but not necessary. So I've always used synthetic blend and not one auto shop in the past has ever said otherwise to me. But the staff here arrogantly told me, either you pay the difference in oil or I won't do it! Then he proceeded to berate me for being stupid and not knowing what oil my car needs, and that he is doing me a favor! I was actually shocked to experience this misogynistic behavior but I may just have been lucky to deal with respectfully staff in other auto shops! After some back and forth he told me to leave. Mind you, he has already redeemed the Groupon at this point. Groupon is telling me it has already been redeemed. About $50 worth of oil change, and he wants $30 extra on top of that. He wanted me to pay $80 for an oil change! When I asked him about the Groupon, he told me "that's not my problem"! Then he threatened to call the police if I didn't leave in front of another customer! My very first experience with your company! Thanks so much for the great customer service! read more

CON MEN!!! I bought a voucher for an oil change on Groupon that was SUPPOSED to come with windshield wipers. When I got there they told me I had to pay an extra 30$ for mine because they were special. Then when they put the oil in my car I had to pay extra because my car holds more oil smdh. WHAT WAS THE FLIPPING POINT? Money is not the issue. I'm more upset because none of this was specified when I bought the voucher. I only bought the voucher for the free wipers. Long story short screw Groupon and screw this rip off of a place. Anything to get that extra dollar out of you. Find a REAL auto shop without these CON MEN and save yourself a headache. read more

I went here about 9 months ago for an 'oil change + free checkup,' which miraculously yielded a $400+ fix that needed to happen immediately, and I was highly pressured into getting that day. I was warned that my car would collapse internally if I did not get it done and my 10-minute drive home would probably not happen. I respectfully declined. After driving home, to work and back for the next several weeks, then a 4+ hour trip to Iowa, and back, trips to work and back for several months, and another 5+ hour trip to Iowa several months later (where I got a new car), my car still had not been destroyed by whatever ailment it had. Precision tune auto care e-mails me constantly (and thus far I had been too lazy to unsubscribe), so when I needed an oil change a couple months ago, I meant to go to a place I had received a gift card for in my e-mail, but I accidentally made an appointment here. Mistake. My new car apparently needed special synthetic oil, which the employee 'proved' by printing out a piece of paper with gibberish on it that I didn't understand. What I did understand was that I was going to Iowa for Thanksgiving and needed an oil change done within the next day so I ponied up $60 instead of the $20 it should have cost. I asked my father at Thanksgiving about it (since I got the car from them) and he said they had never used synthetic oil in the 2 years they had it and it didn't need it. This place is hit or miss. I've had OK experiences with oil changes, but my most recent visit has been a realy doozy. I brought my car in because the check engine light was on. They ran the daignostic, and of course it's a $500 fix. I have an extended warranty on my car, so when I brought it in I gave them all the information. They were supposed to call the next morning when they heard from the insurance and by 11:00 I still hadn't heard anything. So I called them to get the scoop, and they hadn't even called on the warranty! Apparently the guy who took down the info wasn't in yet... Couldn't they have called me?? Overall, I'd say the communication is very poor and if you're a woman they don't always treat you the best, like most car places. read more

For the first 3 years I went, the service was satisfactory. We never had any major repairs, but they did all the maintenance done well. They even replaced a part that had broken after I left from a 30,000 check, since it happened within 24 hours and they had taken it off & put it back on. I thought that was pretty cool. Last spring I went in for a routine oil change and mentioned that I had heard something brushing near my front wheels when I drove. I asked if they could check it when it was up getting the oil changed. They told me it was in the brakes and that I needed to spend $800 to replace them (along with replacing the sway bar stays). Actually what they told me was that it would "ONLY" be $800 - which made me feel like they didn't think that was a lot of money. They even had a visual aid to show me how worn the brakes were (down to 3mm). I ended up not doing any of the work they suggested, took it to another place, where a friend of mine works, and they only charged, with parts $120. And they told me that the brakes were worn to 8mm, not 3mm (that's a difference of 50% wear). I was so disappointed that I have not been back since. I felt like they either didn't know what they were doing, or they were trying to cheat me. My experiences have been pretty varied, so someone else might have good ones, I know I mostly did. read more

I have been bringing my 2000 Toyota here for many years. They have the best deals on oil changes (especially if you use their coupons) and all of the other services are very competitively priced. The guys that work here are friendly, and I've never felt taken advantage of as a young woman who doesn't know much about cars. Plus the waiting area is nice and clean. You are free to watch whatever you want on TV and they even have complimentary Keurig coffee. read more

Having bought a Groupon for four wheel alignment with front wiper blades at Precision Tune Auto Care I made an appointment for Friday January 25, 2018 at the Roseville location. (1329 W Larpenteur Ave Roseville, MN 55113 ). One hour after I dropped the car I received a call from the auto shop and was told that they cannot do the alignment without replacing the driver side lower control arm. I was surprised to hear that as first there was no noise coming from the front end that would suggest any issue with bushings, and second I replaced, at the end of the summer, the stabilizer bar bushings and I checked the front end without finding anything that needed to be replaced. I denied the work and went to to the shop to pick up the car. I asked twice if they were sure the control arm needed to be replaced. They said yes and one of the employee ever underlined that on the invoice that they printed it for me in case I would be interested in the future to perform the repair. (The invoice was closed to $600). I went home and checked the front end and as expected there was nothing wrong with it. Based on my recent experience I do not recommend this place, they will lure you in with the Groupon deal and will try to scam you with unnecessary repairs. Greg, Jason and all of the Precision Tune staff have earned a recurring customer. They are very professional and honest. While they were putting new ball joints and shocks on my vehicle, Greg noticed I had a cracked frame (which was disappointing to hear), but they assured me that it could be fixed by a welding shop. I took it to a place that my dad knew to have it welded and sure enough, it was very reasonably priced. Greg doesn't give you any crap, he tells you straight up what he recommends done on your vehicle. They replaced my rear struts now that the frame is reinforced and so far my vehicle performs TONS better and safer on the road. The prices on repairs are very reasonable and fair. Unless you're getting an oil change, I'd stay far, far away. I brought my car here to get the alternator changed (the car was dead, so I had little choice in the matter), and was quoted $400, parts and labor. The alternator itself was $150 (a markup of $50 from Autozone's prices), leaving a $250 charge to replace it. $250 for a job I can do myself with three wrenches in 20 minutes (knowledge I didn't have at the time, sadly). Thankfully, I called around and was quoted $250 for the whole job at a store a block away, and the manager matched the price (still a ripoff considering the technicians are paid $10/hour). If I hadn't tried to find more info, I would have been taken for a ride. Best of all, the replacement alternator's bearings have failed a year and a half later, conveniently just after the warranty expired. There are much better places to get your car fixed. read more

Nothing but praise for the new management team of Greg and Julian. These two are very customer focused, had my son's Honda in with a no start electrical issue and these guys took care of it, they kept us informed and completed the repairs by the end of the day. They were very busy with one bay down because of new equipment being installed. What really impressed me was after my son picked up his car, I questioned something on his bill so I went back and had a talk with Julian. Julian explained everything in detail to my complete satisfaction. this shop lied to me about needing a new transmission, 6/13/18 I brought my car in as it seemed like the wheel bearings I had replaced were bad again, so I brought it in, and was told that my trasmission was hollowing out, the guy at precision gave me a est on a transmission 1,100 seemed real bent up about my situation, so the next day I took my car to a transmission shop, they did the full diagnostic and said my transmission was great, no problems, this costed me 150$ - I believe this shop tried to take advantage of me, and now I'm wondering about all the work Ive had done there, so I have been trying to speak to some one about this issue, the customer service line is a joke, its been a week, I have left several messages and no one has returned my calls, the line is all automated, unable to talk to a person. then theres the manager of the shop in roseville, I have left several messages for him to call me, and no one has called me, so Im going to post my situation on every media forum I can, no one should be able to lie and rip ppl off, so for all women out there avoid this shop, they saw me as a easy target, so glad I got a 2nd oppinion of my transmission!! read more

I like bringing my car to this location, but my last visit took longer then expected. When told they will have my car looked at and call me within the hour I expect just that. I had to call repeatedly and each time I called I got "We haven't even looked at your car yet." I don't mind that it took longer but let me know so I can move on.
