As a woman, finding a…read moretrustworthy car shop has always felt like a nightmare--you never know how you'll be treated or if someone will try to take advantage. From the very first visit, everyone at Ray's made me feel welcomed, respected, and valued. Katie at the front desk is such a breath of fresh air. She's incredibly kind, transparent, and upfront about everything she knows. She never tries to upsell or pressure customers into unnecessary work, which is so rare in this industry. Her honesty alone gave me confidence that I was in the right place. I originally came in with my 2017 Mercedes AMG after becoming completely frustrated with the regular Mercedes dealership. Their outrageous quotes and unnecessary suggestions made it clear that their only priority was money, not the customer. After doing a ton of research, I decided to take a chance on Ray's--even though it meant driving all the way from Bloomington, MN--and I am so glad I did! Ray himself is one of the most genuine and meticulous mechanics I've ever met. He was honest with me about what needed to be done, careful with my car as if it were his own, and never once made me feel pressured. The entire experience was so positive that I immediately started recommending Ray's Car Shop to everyone I know. Now, I don't just bring my Mercedes here--I also trust Ray and his team with my Toyota. That says a lot, because once you find a shop this reliable and sincere, you stick with them for life. I can't thank Ray and his team enough for their honesty, professionalism, and the peace of mind they've given me. If you're looking for a car shop that truly cares about you and your vehicle, Ray's is the place to go!

I've been his customer for a number of years, and every job he's done on my truck has been top notch. I have a story to emphasize his honesty. I recently had a few "nagging issues" that I asked him to estimate for me. One of the issues, a loss of fluid problem, was initially estimated well north of a $1,500 dollars to fix. The truck has over 300,000 miles on the clock, so you sort of expect those things, but this one was "one I could live with", so I deferred that repair until my budget would allow. Meanwhile Ray had the truck for another issue "in the vicinity" of that loss of fluid problem. Contrary to his original diagnosis, his other work around that problem area uncovered a hidden loosened tubing connector. A couple of wrench turns (free gratis), and we're able to discard that expensive estimate. I've been in shops before where I might have never been informed of that discovery, and would have paid for the original estimate.

The referred me to Frankie's towing due to it being the overall best value in the area, and because they also have a trusted relationship with them. They were able to get the vehicle repaired and now it starts and runs well! Overall I think what they charged for labor is fair for the market, and the quality of work seems adequate. The staff is friendly as well, so the only draw back is really that the entrance and waiting area feels a bit dirty and run down. If you need your car serviced in the area this is definitely a decent place to take it!

I've ignored a non-critical repair since December. To clarify, it's now the beginning of March…read more The shops I did contact when I'd have the time to consider the repair throughout that while all asked for the car to be dropped off, some requiring a full week before dropoff, which didn't work for me, so I kept putting the minor nuisance on the back burner. Fast forward to the other evening, and a phone call with a dear friend results in learning that a family friend who had helped raise him, the mother to one of his closest friends from childhood to this day, was on her death bed across state lines. His car was in the shop from a hit and run. Suddenly, the minor repair I'd ignored for months became top priority, because I didn't want him needing to return to the Twin Cities immediately if he carpooled or spend a ton on a rental and still have to measure his stay to minimize the rental expenditure. I had an unexpectedly busy day yesterday, so once I was free today, I picked one of the best-rated Plymouth repair shops and grabbed my phone, expecting it to be the first of many calls, given recent experiences with fielding this exact repair for my car. Nope. John was not only truly warm, he was very considerate and informative in his questions before inviting me to bring my car in for a quick repair today, despite it being already 3:30 pm at that point, with the shop closing in an hour and a half. I got to the shop at 4 pm. Less than half an hour later, I was leaving with my car no longer clanking from a loose part. I think I've found a solid new (and far more local - my go-to shop up until now required a half hour drive, but I love my car so I didn't mind) doctor's office for my car.

That didn't fix the issue. The resolution they gave me is to put the parts back in the car to refund my money. Or, charge me an additional 300 for a different repair. I use to think local shops were better but if I could do this all over again, I would go to a dealership. They charge the same prices but at least you can get a car to get around while they fix the issue. I went with the option to get the refund and now they want the legal team to have me go through hoops for a repair I didn't even ask for!!!! They don't realize this is a misdiagnosis on their end which is illegal!!!! I wasn't given the option of what I would like to do with MY car because the original repair wasn't the issue. Save yourself the headache.

I loved the previous wash system Holiday had at this location because they used a hose on your vehicle for the trouble areas -- mine was dust from the gravel roads. The first pass through the car wash left soap foam and "dust film" residue on windows with the back bumper covered with a thick layer of mud. I had to go back to the cashier, who came out to inspect the vehicle. She did give me another number to go through the wash again. This was for the basic wash to rinse off the soak and dirt film. Second run through did help remove most of the film but the mud was still on the back of the vehicle. My suburban is light colored so the dust and spots do not show, I can't imagine what a dark car would look like! Very disappointed with the poor wash quality for $15.00 and if the wash doesn't remove simple dust the problems may be worse with snow and salt this winter.
