By Monday morning, the tire was completely flat. I called the store expecting them to take responsibility and help resolve the issue, especially since the tire was under warranty and they had just serviced it. Instead, I was told I would need to tow the vehicle back in. I explained that I didn't think I should have to pay for a tow when the problem appeared to be related to the work they had just done. Rather than working toward a solution, the manager, Jonathan, became combative and argumentative. The tone was defensive and dismissive, not helpful. When I asked for the name of his manager or someone I could escalate the issue to, he refused to provide it and acted like there was no one above him. I ended up having to call the main customer service line myself to try to get this resolved. I did not create this issue. The tire was covered under warranty, I brought it in for repair, and shortly after the service the tire was completely flat. A reasonable response would have been an apology, arranging a tow, and correcting the problem. Instead, I was met with resistance and poor customer service. Really frustrating experience, and not what you want when dealing with something that directly affects vehicle safety.

When I brought the car in, I was told the lifetime balance and rotation warranty no longer applied--even though it's for the original purchaser, the tires are still on the same wheels and vehicle, and the agreement clearly states it's a lifetime service. When I questioned this, the agent said there it was five years, then that there wouldn't be a charge and that he'd take care of it. I appreciated that, but it left me confused as to why the warranty terms were dismissed in the first place. While the service was being performed, the technician began a multi-point inspection even though I had specifically requested only a tire balancing and no rotation. I stopped them, but they had already marked the air filter as dirty--which is surprising, since it was recently replaced and the vehicle has not been driven much since then. Most concerning, though, was that they inflated the tires to 45 PSI--well above the manufacturer's recommended 30 PSI stated clearly on the vehicle label. That's not just excessive, it's potentially dangerous. I had to let the air out myself afterward to correct the issue. I called the shop after my visit to let them know the tire pressure was 15 PSI over the recommended level. They mentioned the issue could be related to the automatic tire inflation system (?) and assured me they would check to make sure it's working properly. I appreciate that they took the concern seriously. The balance service was ultimately done at no charge, but the inconsistencies in communication and the overinflation issue give me pause about returning in the future.

I brought my car in because it was making a noise while driving. They had it in their possession for three full days and drove it enough to use up a half a tank of gas. I brought it in full and when I got it back, it was half empty. They said they couldn't find out what the problem was. I ended up taking it to the dealer, and the dealer said that the brakes were metal on metal at this point. I contacted parents and they admitted to me they didn't check the back brakes. I ended up having to get my rotors replaced as well. I don't know if the fact that they drove my car with bad brakes extensively damaged the rotors. my car only has 65,000 miles on it. I just don't think there was any excuse for them not figuring out it was the brakes within one day. Definitely shouldn't take three days and many many miles of driving it to try to "listen for the noise" themselves even though I played audios of what it sounded like for them..

This all started by requesting an appointment online. When you request an appointment, it states that the appointment is not confirmed but a representative will contact you to confirm the time and date. I looked through all of my phone calls and emails (spam included) and recieved nothing. My appointment was never confirmed. But I learned they did walk-in, so I did a walk in instead. I did this at 3:30pm. The shop closes at 6pm. When I arrived the man sitting at the front desk was very rude and contradictory in all of his sentences. He stated that a diagnostic testing would be $206 for my car and would take over an hour to do (keep this in mind for further into my review). I have two lights on. 1. Low Brake Fluid. 2. Stabilitrak. I shared that my car had a low blake fluid light, and that online GM's are very common to have Stabilitrak problems when there is low brake fluid. The man finally agreed to come look at my car (but wasn't happy about it after cutting me off constantly in all of my sentences). He opened the hood outside and ask if any pedals were low. I told him no, and offered him my keys if he wanted to take a look. He refused to take my keys and started walking back to the building, turned around and said "actually let me take it for a drive". The drive was around to the back of the building where he pulled it inside. The car was not touched after it was pulled inside (literally watched through the windows). During the time that my car sat there, another customer came in for an appointment with a different car. The man was also very rude to this gentleman and was cutting off all of his sentences as well. During this converstation, the man at the counter shared that it would be $104 to run diagnostics on this vehicle (which is crazily $102 less then he quoted me? But dont worry this gets even better.) He also told the gentleman with the car that it probably wouldnt get done today because he was sending his guy home (mechanic). Keep it mind, it is 3:30pm and the shop does not close until 6pm. He then goes into the back and pulls my car back around. He comes inside with my keys and says "we dont do diagnostics here so you will have to bring it somewhere else". Quite literally CarX does diagnostics? Especially since YOU QUOTED ME A DIAGNOSTIC COST?! You arent the jiffylube across the street who quite literallly does oil changes all day. You just didn't want to. Now I cant wait for the response that they leave to every single negative review on here. "[Persons name] please contact at Customer Service at 1-800-876-6676, ext 2. I thought I got a pretty good deal with my Groupon coupon for a 4-wheel alignment with Car-X. BUT,…read moreI was pretty much just plain wrong. To begin with, the Groupon listing showed a Car-X located in Eden Prairie - good location for me, so I went ahead with the purchase. When I called to make the appointment, a woman speaking very broken English indicated that the Eden Prairie location had been closed for MONTHS. Hmmm - why is the location still showing as available on Groupon? She had no idea. Next closest location was Golden Valley. When I called in, they indicated I could just drop my vehicle off ANYTIME without an appointment and they would call when it was done. Unfortunately, I had no ride. When I told the gentleman this, he suggested - twice - that I "Uber" my car in. Someone please tell me why I would use Groupon to save $30, only to spend $40-60 to Uber to and from Car-X? I asked if they had a waiting room and the customer service rep on the phone indicated they did, so I made an appointment for 1:00 pm on Tuesday afternoon and opted to wait it out. I made it into the Golden Valley Car-X at about 12:30 pm. Older of the two men at the counter checked me in, getting a bit miffed when I told him that I had a Groupon and he said he had to redo my paperwork - he wished I would have told him that before he went through the work of putting my information into the computer. I reminded him that I had told him I had the Groupon when I made the appointment and was given a side-eye. Took my keys at 1:00 pm. He had told me when I set the appointment that alignments take about 1.5-2 hours, so I went to the "waiting room" to settle in. While I was waiting, I couldn't help but overhear the phone calls coming in - folks all being told to just "come on in and we'll take care of you right away today, no appointment necessary!" This on almost every call that was answered. Jeez, I thought - great service here! Yeah, right. At about 3:30 PM (yes, 2.5 hours later), a very wary-looking service tech came out into the waiting area and when I asked about my vehicle, he said it was just then being taken for a test drive BEFORE THEY DID THE ALIGNMENT. WHAAAAAAAAAAT? It hadn't been started yet? He said that he was the one and only tech on the job and was doing all he could to get to all of the vehicles as quickly as possible. He apologized and said that he had told the customer service rep in the front that my car should be started on since I had been there actually waiting for the job to be done and he was told to put others in front of me - as they walked in without appointments. When I asked how much longer it was going to be, he said once he got it back into the shop, he could get it done for me in 20 minutes. Again - WHAAAAAAAT? I was told a 4-wheel alignment took 1.5 - 2 hours. Am I supposed to feel secure in the quality of the work done in 20 minutes? Um. Sure. About 30 minutes later, the younger of the two C S Reps came into the waiting room and said my car was ready to go. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the amount of time I had waited, but once again was told I could have Ubered the car in and not had to wait. At this point, he got MY stink-eye. When I mentioned overhearing the phone calls and customers being told to "come right in", he said it was COMPANY POLICY to tell everyone that to get them in the door. OK, then. To be fair, this younger gentleman was at least attempting to be pleasant. On top of everything else, I was told my balance due after the Groupon was just over $14 for "fees and taxes" - no offer of any sort of break or compensation for the horrible service. (It was in the fine print on the Groupon website, so okay.) So there were a total of THREE employees manning this Car-X location. And only one of them was a service tech. Please, please, please - save yourself the headache. Pay full price for a wheel alignment somewhere else. It is well worth $120-150 not to waste half of your day for questionable service at Car-X.

John the rude and incompetent manager: I've been going to…read moreCarX in Robbinsdale for 20 years for repairs to my work van. 7/28/25, I brought it in and met John, the manager for new tires and to find an AC leak. He filled the van with freon but failed to find the leak and said to bring it back if there were more problems. When I went to pick up the van it was undriveable as antifreeze was leaking from the van (it never had leaked before). John refused to take responsibility for the leak and said the radiator must have failed coincidentally while they were working on it. The van had work 4 weeks earlier and John suggested that it was probably damaged four weeks earlier when I had the struts replaced with a different mechanic. I think that's ridiculous that antifreeze would just start leaking four weeks later when they happen to be working on it. I had questions but did not pursue the issue further and had to pay for a new radiator. The freon continued to leak and I brought it in 3 more times over the summer for the same issue. On September 26th I brought the van in in the morning for the 3rd time and John called back at 3:00 pm told me we'd have to reschedule as they were too busy, even though I had an appointment, and my van had been there all day (cost me $25 in Uber fees for no reason) 10/3/25, I returned for my 4th and final appointment to have the AC leak repaired. After a full day, John explained that they found the leak finally, but that they still would not be able to fix it that day as they needed parts, and he suggested that I get the parts myself as it would be cheaper. I had the feeling John was unable to deal with this issue and was blowing me off. I asked John if he would fill the freon again, as after 4 failed attempts and paying $200 to fix the issue, it was still blowing warm air. John became angry and suddenly hung up on me! I was taken aback and called him back immediately. I said we must have been cut off, and he said stated: "No, I hung up on you, and to be honest I really don't ever want to do business with you again". He said I blamed them for the radiator leak earlier in the year (even though I really hadn't and dropped the issue that day). He said he'd fill the freon again but to never come back! I did get upset and raised my voice and expressed my displeasure with his total incompetence, and rude behavior. I picked up my van that day and the issue I paid for (leaking AC) remains unresolved to this day. I don't think it was unreasonable to ask for freon again, considering the circumstances. I've never been so insulted before in dealing with a business. I suggest you just go to another place for service on your vehicle and save the hassle or risk similar incompetence and rude behavior. (Note: The other "technicians", were very kind, professional, and nice people. John clearly was the problem) Post Owner Response addition) 1st: I dropped my van off in the AM, John, your rude incompetent manager called me AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE and told me the antifreeze started leaking AFTER THE WORK! I didn't stay there during repairs and the van WAS NOT leaking and never had prior to dropping it off 6 hours earlier with your worthless and incompetent workers. So let's put that nonsense to rest NOW. 2nd: I paid you to find an AC leak. Your idiots are too incompetent to do that so they just kept refilling it (3 times total after 4 trips) because had you fixed it the 1st time, you wouldn't have had to refill the Freon an additional 2 times RIGHT ?
