The customer service was bad and the work was even worse I brought my car in for an oil change technician drove it up on the oil change Bay in the process getting my car stuck while they're trying to get it unstuck ripped off my catalytic converter dented my passenger side fender after arguing with them to pay for my catalytic converter but now they are refusing to fix my Fender telling me that I cannot prove it happened at their shop which I have all the video of that day and text message from me and the manager about fixing my Fender he informed me he wasn't fixing anything and I just might as well take him to court read more

took over two months they claimed couldn't track a part and claimed multiple times "it's almost done" lack of communication our car returned to us still having issues, ac didn't work (did prior to them having our vehicle for over two months) and ran hard we will never recommend this place to anyone If we could rate 0/10 we would (Addition to my previous review) Our engine light is back on (for the multiple time since we've gotten it back after 2 months). we've now been told by another precision tune that they don't work on Nissan's because it's a foreign car and they don't know how to work on them... why would this location work on ours with that information? we went to a mechanic who specializes in nissans and told us to lawyer up because the damage is now done and there's not much they can do other than replace our engine since your location worked on our car. We plan on getting notorized letters from these two places with their claims. calling your number gets nothing accomplished- it just calls into your office where we're told "we dont have that authority". after 2 months of having our car you should have admitted you had no idea what you were doing and bought our car at/above market value and taken the loss. instead, you're concerned about the bottom line of making money and profit, not helping people have safe and reliable. Update: It's amazing how a bad customer service experience can change your whole outlook in a business. The last time I came to this location, I was given attitude by a certain individual who doesn't seem to like his job. I pulled up to the bay, as I was the first customer there, before they opened the doors. While I was sitting there they took at least two other customers before me. He finally came to me and by then, there was an hour wait. I told him that I was the first client there that morning and all it would have taken was a sincere apology and a good attitude for me to wait that hour. But because I received nothing but the chip on his shoulder, I brought my vehicle to Express, just down the road. So, I believe in second chances and I did that today. Again, I was the first person there and I was greeted by a new, friendly face. The woman that greeted me had a smile and great demeanor, but then that same guy brought his negative attitude back into the mix. We shortly discussed whether it was high mileage oil or full synthetic and he seemed to take it personally that I took my business to Express the last time (I don't know if he remembered me or if he was just perturbed that I was in their system and that I now had an Express sticker in my windshield. I asked him how much a full-synthetic oil change was and he said it would be $96. I was really surprised that it was so much since I had paid $75 for a full synthetic at Express the last time. When he saw how shocked I was by the price, he asked me how much Express charged and when I said Seventy-something, he said, "Well, I'll get your car and bring it back around." Well, I guess the giant red sign out front that said, "We'll beat any competitor's price" didn't mean anything to him. I told the sweet lady at the desk that he was the reason I left last time and he's the reason I won't be back. Anyway, today I'm changing my 4star review to a one star because of poor customer service. I won't be back to allow them a third strike. I ended up leaving there again because of this individual and I'm sitting in my car typing this while the friendly guys at Express get it done. If someone from Precision reads this, please know that it is way easier to keep a loyal customer than it is to gain new customers and for every customer you disappoint in this manner, they will go and tell many of their friends. My previous review is below if you don't care about customer service. I've got to say that I am very surprised by all of the negative reviews. I've been coming to this location for quite some time and, yes, they do attempt to upsell and I don't see anything wrong with that. I don't feel like they've ever tried to upsell me on something I really didn't need. I'm a pretty hands on guy but I can't change my own oil with time spent for what they do it for. I really feel like they are worth what you pay and if you are not the type of person that can perform the other things they are trying to upsell you on, then it's probably worth it to pay them to do it. read more

I am disgusted with my last experience here. My husband and I did business here last summer and were super pleased, not sure where the previous employee went but what you have now is a pushy salesman trying to make commission. We took my husbands truck in last week for brake pads. We ended up receiving a call saying we needed $1100 worth of work done. Everything contradicted itself. We were told it needed front rotors but were told when picking it up that only one was bad which I already suspected and have intentions of fixing but was too busy to get to it so told my husband to just go get break pads and I will deal with the rest in a couple of weeks. We were told the rear drums were bad, my husband said that's impossible because we just had them changed here less than a year ago, sure enough he pulled it up in the system and said that he could warranty those but if we didn't have everything done he was telling us to have done that he could no longer warranty them. And said that he could put the break pads on but they would be bad by the time we drove it home. He also told us when picking up the truck that the caliber was loose and they tightened it up, fyi you really shouldn't tell customers that the previous work they had done at the same location wasn't done properly. Lastly I would really like to understand why this truck was put in 4-wheel drive. After a day of driving the truck and my husband worrying they had really messed something up in the rear, he realized he had been driving it on the interstate in 4-wheel drive. Find an honest mechanic and get rid of this washed up car salesman you have. Can I have the warrantied rear drum replacements to replace myself? read more

One of the best auto experiences, I've had in a long time. I'm a single female and usually dread having to go get my car serviced. But this place was different, they were honest throughout the whole process. The customer service rep, Billy, even took the time to show me the broken part that was taken out for the car. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and knowledgeable. I've looked at some of the reviews and I assure you that management has been changed. And for the absolute better. This is a God-fearing company that is dedicated to servicing customers to the best of their ability. Will be using them as my personal car repair from NOW on. read more

Great service and courteous workers always aiming to please. Had an excellent experience as per usual, but this was above and beyond what I expected. I arrived anticipating a routine oil change only to have my battery die as I was leaving the parking lot. Not only did each of the guys come out to help me diagnose the issue, but one of the gentleman in particular, Dewayne, helped me rip it out of the and helped entertain my kids that were stuck in their car seats all while we were getting the issue fixed without mention of one more dime coming out of my pocket. Great service as always! For those of you posting prickly reviews, step back and examine your decisions. They have to up sell other services because of the low cost of their oil changes. They're always busy because they are one of, if not, the lowest cost oil changes available. If it's convenient for your schedule to go, than it's probably the same for everyone else. Avoid peak times or there will be a wait. They run a skeleton crew always-hence the low cost of oil change. Be smart and hit it at non peak times(i.e. Saturday mornings, during lunch breaks, etc.) and all of your negative associations with this place will be assuaged. read more

They lied, telling her that a new law had been passed that requires them to put synthetic oil in cars if the manufacturer recommends it. She noticed the man before her had the same scam run on him. The service is cheap and quick, but the attitude of the mechanic at the front desk in Alabaster is awful. BRING BACK THE RECEPTIONIST WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. Topped off my husband's suv coolant with water. Replaced a tire on friend's car, tire fell off and snapped a lug, shop took no responsibility, but would replace tire and rim "at cost". Tire fell off second time, shop still said not their fault. Went elsewhere. Had oil changed, not a week later, car's oil change sensor is going off. Wanted to flush my brake line, got mad when I declined. Overall, not trustworthy. read more

Please do not give this place your business. The lobby smells like cigarettes. And I took my car in to get a basic oil change and when I get the receipt it is $100. After waiting an hour for my car. Then when I go to leave my car is shaking so I drive it down the road and the whole car is smoking so these idiots screwed up my car and now I had to take it back to these morons. I carried my car in to get brake pads changed. They changed them and about 6 days later the car started making a loud noise when I applied the brakes and sometimes when I didn't even apply brakes. I went back and the manager rode with me and told me I needed to buy something else and that would fix the problem. He didn't even put in shop and look at brakes. The next day I had someone else look. They took the right wheel off and there was a bolt missing from the caliper. The caliper was just hanging They didn't put it in or was so loose it fell out. This damaged my wheel, caliper, and rotor. I asked for part of my money back because I don't feel they completed the service I paid for. Also their actions caused damage to my car. I was told they "would not be giving any money back" from the "manager". This guy has no idea or doesn't care what danger he and his employees put me in. He never even apologized. I asked him if he thought his word was the last word on this matter- he said "Yes, I'm the manager". read more

Don't go there. I had an oil change then drove to Atlanta with a 3 year old and a 2 year old. In the middle of no where we broke down for three hours. They inspected my air filter and did not put it all the way in. I got debris in the air intake and had to have the car towed and intake valve cleaned. When I went back to Precision Tune they told me that it is possible for debris to get inside and shut the engine down but that was not what happened to me. They went on telling me that the air filter serves no purpose even though they have a display inside about dirty air filters. I called corporate but it was a waste of time. read more

Do not take your vehicle to this place unless you plan on spending more money at a different place.My car was running hot they told me it was the thermostat and to replace it, it would cost 349.00 so I said OK then they said I needed my transmission fluid changed , I agreed and all together it costed 568.00 needless to say my car ran hot again two hours from home I had to have my car towed back I have since had someone else take a look at it and apparently it's the water pump also someone has put stop leak in my radiator.This was your quick fix I guess , and charged me a fortune for nothing ,Also after I had this done my car would not start and if it did start it go dead had someone take a look at it and one of the idiots that left a shop rag on my air filter really ,I will not be back to this place for anything I spent a little over a thousand dollars in the course of two months , you have lost my business you are DISHONEST . I had my oil changed and I know the drill that they will try to upsell but I was very disappointed when the tech told me that I had an oil pan leak that I needed to "keep an eye on" . He said when he pulled the plug I only had 1/2 quart of oil drain. Not true. I check my oil regularly and it was full. I have not had any type of leak or signs when I park. I asked him if everything else was ok and he said yes. Well, I know I had 2 lights out. A fog light and back up light. Sad. I will not go back to this one due to the dishonesty. read more

This repair shop is dishonest and unethical. My son took car in with a censor error. They replaced the censor and then said it still wasn't fixed and that it was a timing belt & water pump and $1300 to fix. My son told them he needed to talk to me first to see if we wanted the repair since it is an older car. We called them back and said we did not want the repair done. We were then told they looked again and complete the repair for $500. We called back the next day and they tried charging us the $1300. When we told them what we had been told the previous day they said they would call back. They confirmed we had been quoted that and did the repair. Picked up the car and paid $627. Drove less then a quarter mile and the car stalled and won't go above 3500 RPM. Took the car back and they tell us that they never said the repair would work. Who would pay $600-$1300 and not expect the car to be fixed. Called a dealership and was told they should have done a basic check too see if valves were bent before replacing timing belt. Told them we would pay the original $180 for the censor repair but we wanted the difference back. Manager said he couldn't approve. Told us to call the owner. The owner hasn't returned multiple calls. I am following up with corporate and complaint to Better Business Bureau. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! SCAM. read more

I've nearly rear ended a tractor trailer and went down I-65 with no breaks. Breaks that they said were fixed and their inspection said it was safe. I've paid for two crappy jobs from them because they don't know how to do breaks right the first time, they don't fully inspect your vehicle, they recommend minor things (even told me bull shit about how I needed Halogen fluid for my headlights) but never mentioned anything about major problems that need fixed. They are under new management and still suck. Not worth to trouble going there especially since the new manager didn't give a damn about a customer's breaks going out as a result of their negligence. read more

Everyone I know has always had problems with this shop, including myself but I desperately needed and oil change and thought maybe this time will be different. Bad idea. Let me say this I just purchased my car 4 months ago new brakes, new tires, mostly new everything except for the fact that the car itself is used. They pull my car in I tell the Lady what I'm getting and sit down. The second I sit, in comes the mechanic. Not even 5 mins after being there. "I just thought I would let you know what we found. You looking mighty fine today." I'm pretty honest and he may have got his feelings hurt but I say no sir not today!" On to the then non existent problem. He tells me my breaks are metal to metal. Mind you I drive 30 mins to work that's there and back at night 3 days a week. I drive for no other reason other than work and on occasion to pick up my niece. This man doesn't offer to fix them or give me a price he tells me that if I let him change the break fluid it would fix it. Once again I'm honest how in the world would that fix my breaks being "metal to metal"? His answer: "well your power steering fluid is low which is linked to your brake fluid which is what caused the metal to metal I can fix all of it for $159." I felt real disrespected that he would insult my intelligence like that and its really just common sense. I tell him no trying to avoid cussing him out for his ignorance and walk out. 30 mins later I'm out...I come to the light and crazy shit my breaks are now squeaking even though they weren't when I pulled up to shop. How about ZERO stars! My husband took my car here to get the brakes put on. Yes, we bought our own because I didn't trust them to put good parts on my car. I thought they could at least put them on decent enough. How stupid of me to think that? And guess what. The rotors needed to be shaved. Ok, now a month or so later my brakes sound worse than they did after having the same brakes for over a year! Horrible grinding sound! Took it back, oh, the car is due for new rotors with about 70k miles on it anyway. Really? Huh? I've read these reviews by now. Wish I'd read them before we got the work done. Well, I don't trust you to be honest or to really fix my car. I should've gone to The Garage. And I've noticed that in all your responses to these poor reviews you are very defensive. Giving all the details of the work orders of the reviewing customers. That, in my opinion, is very telling. But I'm just a nobody who paid way too much money for you to put brakes that I bought on my vehicle and some how managed to screw it up. Well, defend yourself all you like but we will cut our losses. You will not get my recommendation for service. I would not recommend using any of the Precision Tune Auto Care locations in Alabama, especially those in Alabaster and Pelham. These are Franchise stores and the owner is Rick and Jamie Martin. The shops are very dishonest. I know 3 different people who have been employed in these stores and each have warned me not to have my car serviced there. They sell you a "premium" oil change but it is no different than the "basic" oil change. They only keep a couple of types of oil in stock and one of those is the cheap Dollar General oil. If employee's try to speak up and try to do the right thing, they don't stay employed long. One former employee said he knew of times when the tech couldn't get a customer's oil filter off the car, so he left it on and still charged for a new oil filter. These are only a few of the issues with these stores. They lie to employees when they hire them regarding their salary, they refuse to file workman's comp unless forced to so and don't even try contacting the owners about a problem because you can't get them on the phone. read more
