I've taken two watches here for resizing. First watch was handed down to me by my father. Maria resized it, no problem! A year later, I returned with a preowned GS sport watch. It had two badly stripped screws, but with a lot of patience, and drilling, Maria was able to remove them and resize the watch perfectly with my replacement screws. I had issues with two watches. She solved one and was honest about the other. I started by describing the issues with my ~10 year old quartz Timex that I had probably broken replacing a battery. I asked if it was fixable and she said honestly no. Lesson learned: pay the $10 to have a professional replace the battery. At least the watch I ruined had lived about a decade and didn't cost much in the first place. Then I got out the second: a 1970s vintage Timex automatic that needed a band to fit in the (obselete) 19.5mm lugs. Peroid-correct is a flat black leather band, and she didn't have a lot of bands to choose from that fit the description. But once I found a 20mm that seemed to run just a bit small, she managed to install it. That's the skill that comes from experience that I couldn't have done at home (and if I had tried, I might have wrecked the watch). It was also nice to see her interest once I started asking about the vintage automatic. Even for a relatively inexpensive watch, there's something fun about keeping a vintage watch working, and I could tell she was amused. read more

There was a woman ahead of me with many watches to be taken care of, but I waited patiently. Finding a good repair shop for watches is hard to find. Finding one with an amazing owner and outstellar service is quite impossible. Until you go to Precision Time. Saying that the owner is friendly and knowledgeable would not be fair. She took my 5 watches for service and knew something very specific to each one of them. I only requested battery replacement but she polished all watches and changed some parts for no additional costs. She will usually try to do same day service if possible. Amazing!!!! Brought two watches in the other day since Ben had left both hanging out in his junk drawer for about 4 months... I was going to take them to the watch repair in Macy's, but since this place was closer and had better reviews on Yelp, I decided to stop in. I was met with a kind lady who knew I walked in even though she seemed fully engrossed in what she was doing. She looked up with a friendly greeting and I handed over the two watches. I honestly thought I would have to come back the next day or in a few hours, but nope! she asked if I was on my lunch break (which I was) and she said..come back in 30. minutes! So I left and came back in 20...sure enough they were good to go and good as new! Nothing beats fast, efficient service! Total bill? $20. Sweeet!! Been a loyal customer at Macy's watch repair for years but when I checked the most recent yelp reviews, sounded like the service provided by the new management is bad so I decided to try this place yesterday based on the excellent yelp reviews. All I needed was a new battery. The lady was friendly, professional, I was in and out in minutes and paid $10. You can tell she's taking COVID best practices seriously - I felt very safe and appreciated her attention to detail. She even cleaned my watch (silicone band) and when handed it back to me, did so with paper towel wrapped around it. Guess I'll be coming here from now on! I took my mother-in-law by PT to get two watches repaired. They were both gifts with sentimental value, and so mommy was looking forward to getting them working again. The shop's owner Maria was awesome. Friendly, professional, and honest. She talked us out of spending a lot of money on repairs for both watches. Yep, it turns out the gifts were literally "costume jewelry." Not built to last, and definitely not worth repairing. So while my mommy and I were disappointed that we left the shop with her time-telling keepsakes in no better condition than when we arrived, we were pleased that Maria did her watch diagnosis free-of-charge, and talked us out of making even minor repairs like changing the battery. I definitely will be back for future watch repairs. Plus, you can't beat Precision Time's secret location. It's tucked away in an office building sandwiched between the Levi's store and the Westfield SF Centre Mall. There is a whole menagerie of little shops and vendors up on the 3rd floor where PT is located. It's worth making the trip just to experience the odd coolness of it all. read more

Maria may seem like a sweet lady and she may be good at changing batteries and doing simple fixes, but my experience is anything but positive. A long time ago I brought in a watch, which was a gift from my grandmother and therefore had great sentimental value to me, for repair because it just wasn't keeping time. At this point I don't remember the exact dates nor the number of times I brought it in, but each time she kept it for an inordinate amount of time--once for months--told me all sorts of stories and gave me all sorts of excuses about why it was taking so long, charged me hundreds of dollars and in the end it still never worked right. Plus when I picked it up the last time, she told me that if it malfunctioned again she would refuse to work on it. Then after all that time and money told me not to wear it regularly leaving me scratching my head wondering what was the point of the repair anyway. After that last visit it was only a few weeks before it started to malfunction again. So I brought it to Raymond at Clockworld on Pine Street--where I should have gone in the first place. There after just a couple of weeks and a simple cleaning that cost me less than a hundred dollars I picked up the watch in early December and it is still working perfectly. As far as I'm concerned, though she comes off as sweet and nice, Maria is at best incompetent and at worst a scam artist who I would never do business with again. I feel totally duped and if I could, would give her negative stars. If you need a watch repaired I suggest you take it to Raymond and avoid Maria. PS. There's probably a reason Maria only takes cash. Paying with a credit card would subject her to contested charges when work wasn't done properly. With cash the customer has no recourse. read more

I inherited an old Rolex from my grandfather that had a scratched crystal. The proprietor buffed out the scratches and it looks good as new. I also thought the price was fair. She also opened the watch up for me so I could see the markings on the inside and we had a good chat about the watch. The reason this is 4 stars instead of 5 is timing and communication; I brought it in before a long vacation and she said it would be ready well before I got back, but when I returned she said "it will be ready next week". I showed up a week later and it was done, but I hadn't received a call letting me know. If I'd just been told it would take 4 weeks I'd be fine with that, but I don't like guessing. read more

This place is great! I came in here for the first time today for a battery replacement in my watch. From the time I walked in, changing of the battery, setting my watch to the current time (which I might add, nice touch!), to paying and leaving: It literally took 3 minutes for the whole job! On top of her efficiency, I have to say her prices are great too. My battery replacement only cost me $7. This place accepts cash and checks (for over $15), It is located on the 3rd floor of the James Bong Building and about half way down the hallway.
