I have lived with chronic pain for decades…read more
Ive had surgeries, injections, lived a decade on pain medications, PT, chiro.....you name it
Some helped, some did not, but in my case, i'll be in pain the rest of my life due to my injuries.
An associate of mine mentioned that his wife had tried ketamine therapy for her PTSD as well as a knee injury and that she had had amazing success, his good friend who had helped me with pain management in the past and recently opened a new clinic so I decided to give it a shot
First off, let me see that Matthew Rhodes is one of the most knowledgeable medical professionals I have ever met, some people think that nurse practitioners or somewhat less than doctors, I think it's the exact opposite, the majority of nurse practitioners have years of nursing experience, helping patients learning to communicate with them and learning valuable skills, also Matthew is board-certified in pain management, something most medical physicians do not have and just talk for a couple of minutes is all you need to feel confident putting your trust in him for your medical care.
After my initial consultation and a full set of labs ( The fact that he requires everyone to have a full set of lab work done just makes me feel much better as it's nice to know that there will be no issues and what my current health is prior to treatment) I returned two days later for my first treatment, I'll admit I was a little bit nervous but everything went extremely well, Kenny greeted me warmly when I arrived and went over the initial paperwork with me, then I was taken to the back where Joshua started the IV easily the first try and I consider myself a hard stick, luckily he has years of experience as a paramedic so I did not have to worry about being a pin cushion.
Finally Matthew came into the room and went over everything with me again, answered all of my questions very very well and I am still in off of the amount of knowledge he has, you can tell he is very passionate about what he does here, something that echos with the rest of the staff as well.
I believe I dozed off for a large portion of the time during the treatment but I woke up feeling great, I would say about 60% of my pain had subsided and all of the depression and stress I carry around with me from these constant and nagging injuries just seemed to go away a little bit, like the sun peeking through rain clouds, I'm not sure how long it will last for or what the future will hold but I am looking forward to my next treatment and so far this is been an amazing journey and a decision I am glad I decided to make, but I feel happy, energetic and for the first time in years I woke up, I was able to immediately sit up and I just had a happy feeling inside me, if you have any depression, PTSD or injuries, I think it's worth at least getting a consultation with Matthew and at least one treatment, if it is anything like my experience you will be more than thrilled
In addition, they do hormone replacement therapy such as testosterone for those of us who could use the extra boost or lacking in that department, we are in the process of doing my lab work to see where I am at and this also has me extremely excited as I would be great to have some more energy to go along with this new happy demeanor
Thank you For taking away some of this pain and anxiety and make me a happier individual, I am genuinely excited for my next visit!
