I provided my physical insurance card to your front desk, explicitly asked for verification based on that plan, and was told more than once that your office and the treating provider were in-network. After receiving a significantly higher-than-expected bill, I contacted Cigna directly. During that call -- which occurred shortly after the appointment -- a Cigna representative and I searched their system for Dr. Abigail Nye. At the time, she was not listed under any Cigna network. Not just for my plan -- she simply did not appear in their provider system at all. Now, after the fact, Dr. Nye appears in Cigna's directory -- but only under the Total and Total Plus plan networks. She is still not listed under Cigna DPPO Advantage, which is the plan I have. Yet your office's own PDF -- linked on your website -- explicitly lists "Cigna DPPO Advantage Dentist" under accepted in-network plans. That was part of what influenced my decision to book with your office. The issue here is not just confusion over plan names. It's about negligent misrepresentation. I presented my insurance card, asked your staff to verify network status for my specific plan, and was assured that I was covered. Cigna's billing and coverage records -- both then and now -- do not support that assurance. I was billed at out-of-network rates because the provider was not, and is still not, in-network for my plan. Even if your network affiliations have since changed, that does not retroactively justify what happened at the time of my appointment. Patients have a legal and ethical right to rely on what they're told by a provider's staff when verifying coverage. If I had been informed honestly that the provider wasn't in-network, I would have made a different decision. This situation has caused avoidable financial harm, and I've submitted documentation to the appropriate regulatory authorities. The inconsistency between what your staff communicated, what your website claimed, and what Cigna confirmed is not acceptable. Your website says advantage dentists and I have a ppo advantage plan. Your desk people literally took my card twice and assured me I was covered, intentional or not if it wasn't untrue, that doesn't excuse it from being a point of negligent misrepresentation. This truly is a clear cut small claims case. As well as I have transcripts of the call logs with Cigna dental. Whether or not the dental board wants to waste their time with it is one thing but that doesn't mean that what I'm saying is incorrect. In fact I have a feeling a small claims court would see otherwise.

I would never go back to this place…read more I went in for tooth pain in an upper tooth on my left side and they said oh you need crown they did a temporary crown and I told them my tooth was still bothering me at that time. I went back to get the crown put in and I told him that my tooth was still bothering me he said that the pain would go away. I went back after the crown was installed and said that I have extreme pain in that same tooth and they said oh you need a root canal. It does not make sense to me to put in a finished product and then have someone go in there and drill through a finished product to do a root canal. I went and got a root canal after going through a month of tooth pain before and after the ceramic crown was installed. I don't see how they can stay in business with this type of professionalism. On top of all that I had a dental cleaning scheduled a couple of months after this period of time and they said that I told them that I was not coming back when I called them. I was in very bad tooth pain and I said I might not be back. They never gave me a notice or anything that they canceled my appointment and I showed up and they told me my appointment had been canceled with no notice. Patient beware!!!

So let me start with me: I have had a phobia of dentists and oral care since I was young. Growing up in the 80's (I'm aging myself here) my family could only afford discount dentist offices so what I knew of dental offices were not positive. I went over 3 years without seeing a dentist as a young adult (a decision I very much regret now) because of the debilitating fear. I just hated the appointments throughout my youth, teenage years and young adulthood and oftentimes had to take anti-anxiety medicine to simply walk into the office. I had to get braces in the early 2000s to resolve bite issues and headaches because my jawline was way off. My orthodontist recommended Dr. Stang and cautioned that I was investing too much in my jawline and teeth to not see a professional dentist. So I gave in reluctantly and I'm very happy that I did. I'm a demanding person and I rarely give out 5 stars. I'm also the crazy yelper who will change my review after every single appointment/visit so that it is continuously earned (I loathe complacency). This office and Dr. Stang deserve 5 stars. The office is big, new and offers a lot of amenities: coffee, water, etc. I think it's a nice perk but it's not why I work in Fort Collins and drive to this office 3 times a year for cleanings (and additional appointments when they arise). The staff is kind. The office staff including everyone from the person who you call for an appointment, the person who checks you in, schedules your next appointment and the who bills you are all on top of things. They over communicate (I LOVE that I am reminded of my appointments on 3 different technologies. How thorough. While comical, I NEVER miss an appointment. Clearly it's effective). Oh my goodness, they note everything. Do you have a favorite hygienist? You can see them for all of your needs (assuming they are still there). Have one you don't quite mesh with - they can note that too so that you don't see them again. Do you like one type of cleaning method over another? They note and act on that. Scared of dentists and need laughing gas? Yes, that's me. They note that too so it's ready when I walk in to treat a cavity. Do you need a distraction? They offer music and a tv for your viewing pleasure to help keep you calm. Building and office staff aside, I come for the great dental team. I see Dr. Stang and whomever he is working with. He is always so calm, patient and kind. He is a perfectionist and takes pride in my dental care. He has seen me multiple times to correct a crown and bite guard. While most people have 2 cleanings per year, I come in for 3. This staff really is incredible. Since 2004, I have changed jobs many times and they went from in/out of network as I did that. While my jobs changed, I never changed my dentist. I have moved to the DTC and Fort Collins and still commute to this office. Their prices are reasonable whether in or out of network (and when money was tight I did call around for pricing to many offices closer to home). Also, this is a dental office. Much like doctors appointments, there will occasionally be some delays because appointments can run unexpectedly long. I am not a patient person and I hate tardiness. So I've learned to take early appointments, book them months in advance and avoid the lunch hour rush. There are workarounds to known problems to limit the frustrations and maximize your experience. I wish I had someone like Dr. Stang when I younger. You don't get to play catch up with oral care folks and you can't pay your way out of years of neglect... so start off right with Dr. Stang and you'll be 20+ years ahead of me.

I went to schedule it and apparently down in the tiny writing which, even after reading I don't totally see, if you have insurance, you are in eligible for this. Even though my insurance barely covers the exam let alone teeth whitening. So I will not go back.

The one thing that bothered me a bit was that I would always feel pressured to schedule my next appointment fat in advance and reassured that it was no issue because I could always reschedule, but was always given the reminder text or call on a Friday while working and then they would close for the weekend, leaving me without time to reschedule within the grace period, and resulting in some cancellation fees. Totally understand why these are in place and that I should be better about remembering my appointments, but sometimes I just forget as many people do I am sure!
