I brought my mini in for a diagnostics to find source of a reacting code light. I was within a paragraph conversation told of how much experience he had, how it's probably a major engine issue which seemed odd from all internet research pointed to electrical. he did some sort of check then then asked me what do I want him to do? he was short in his attitude and rude, I'm sure it reflects his business as there were no customers or even a place to sit and wait. perhaps he's a good mechanic but I won't be referring him for business. read more

What a score finding Brian at Precision Auto. I wrote a google review and want to write on Yelp because it was such a seamless experience. Being from out of town for a few days I called a the 1st local shop that had great reviews. They referred me to Brian because he works on German cars. He was great start to finish. He was priced fairer then others. He got me in next day and work down within hours even though he estimated a whole day due to parts delivery. He also let me know my tires desperately needed replacing and my oil change was over due by sticker count. Even though tires are on order and oil is done just not sticker updated, I am grateful he was looking out for me. I will drive the distance to have my car serviced by him. I can tell immediately that my 1998 Porsche Boxster is in good hands as soon as I talk to Brian in person. I went in for maintenance and oil change + battery change. He did all services very fast! He spotted an issue with the belt and showed me a photo of the damage, which I actually suspect something was wrong with the drive belt. He did the extra miles to check the belt by replacing the belt and removing the hard to access panels behind the seat to check for damages after a drive test. The care he gave to my almost 25 year old car was top notch! I also notice all the squeaking from the arm/ steering area was gone and the car runs much more smoothly! I called to see if they could work on my Mini Cooper. He was on a cell phone which had some static. When I asked how much it would cost to look at it he said $180 when I repeated what he said to make sure I wrote it down right, he said, "yes, I'm pretty sure you don't work for free". I was simply asking to make sure I had it correctly because I'm sending someone else w/ my car. Maybe it's because I'm a female - I have no clue, but I will not be taking my Mini there. So rude! It really hurt my feelings as all I was doing was trying to find someone locally to work on my car. Plumbers and electricians cost just as much if not more, so the price wasn't an issue at all. He should really think about how he talks to potential customers. read more

The experience sucked. Do not send your business to this unprofessional. I took my car to him in April with a starting issue. He diagnosed it and corrected it which I was happy for. In June I had the same starting issue. He diagnosed it as a failing alternator and quoted me $1600 to replace it and it would take 3 days to get it back. I have been a weekend mechanic all my life. I told him not to worry about it, I have changed the alternator on a 645Ci before. I thanked him, told him I would gladly pay his $185 diagnoses fee again and pick up the car that afternoon. I would be there right around 5 pm since I was on my way back from picking up my grandson in lodi. His answer was "it would be alot easier on me if you would pick it up monday". He had no problem leaving me without a car all weekend cause he might have to wait 5 minutes for me. He called me on Monday saying he had to close the shop early so I went over and paid him and picked up the keys before he left. While there on Monday he had the nerve to say to me " if you're not going to have me do the work to replace the alternator, you need to find someone else to work on your car." I had just replaced the alternator on my truck for $142 and on my girlfriends 645Ci for $202. Here's the kicker, when I was driving my car back home, the alternator was working perfectly. It was charging at 14.2 volts. While driving the car Monday night the starting system failed again. I emailed him and told him that the same thing happened not even 24 hours later. He told me he didn't want to work on my car anymore. I felt like I was kicked in the teeth. I have paid to have it towed to his shop twice and 2 diagnoses fees at $185ea to be told too bad, so sad. The owner's response is 100% bullsh*t. I was only willing to put an authentic Porsche water pump on, which is why I left this shop and went to the Porsche Dealership. At no point did I ask him to "do it for $500", I simply called him on his ridiculous price and left. Again.. I had to go to the dealership for the part, and put it on myself on the side of the road, simply because this shop was trying to GOUGE a potential customer who was in a jam. I typically only write a Yelp review if I've gone to a place where I was blown away with how fantastic or how poor the service was because I feel like it's important to get the word out to people about my experience either way when that happens. I recently took my Audi into Brian at Precision MotorWerks and was so pleased with everything that I felt like I had to write this review. I don't live up in the Rohnert Park/Sonoma area, don't know any mechanics up here and so when my relatively new Audi A4 suddenly broke down, losing all power and shaking violently - I was apprehensive that I was going to have to find someone to take a look and fix it in an area where I'd never taken a car to get fixed - definitely fearful that I was going to get taken to the cleaners by a dishonest mechanic. I read a few other Yelp reviews on Audi repair places in the area and ultimately decided to bring my car to Brian at Precision, crossing my fingers that I'd made the right decision. Well...let me tell you how incredibly happy I am that I found Brian's shop out here. Not only was he able to get me in and my car diagnosed and fixed within 24 hours, but he was great at explaining to me what was wrong, his prices were lower then I could have expected AND he helped me file a claim with Audi to get reimbursement from them for the work he'd done (because I had a recalled coil go out). I haven't had such a positive experience bringing my car into a mechanic for some unknown issue with my car like this...EVER. I know that even though I live in San Francisco, I'm definitely going to continue bringing my car all the way up to Rohnert Park to Brian anytime it needs anything, even something simple like an oil change. I have a 2002 VW Jetta that was having transmission problems. The VW Stealership quoted me an outrageous price. They didn't seem to want to even look at what might be causing the problem, they just wanted to replace it right away. Took it in to Brian and he put in the effort to follow the repair down the entire path. He did end up rebuilding the tranny but I was happy that he at least explored cheaper options first.
