Jim was great, easy to work and schedule with, and best price for the labor hands down. Will recommend him to friends for auto glass needs.

Extremely Disappointing Service and Zero Accountability…read more I had a very frustrating experience with this auto windshield company. I was charged for what I was told was a higher-quality, more expensive windshield, but they installed what appeared to be a generic one instead. Within just a few days, the glass cracked. When I reached out, I was repeatedly told someone would call me back, but no one ever followed through. After several attempts, the last person I spoke with told me I would have to pay full price for a replacement--despite the fact that the windshield had just been installed and failed almost immediately. I was also told that "all windshields are identical" and that no brand or manufacturer is better than another, even going so far as to claim that Gorilla Glass is just generic glass with a label on it. This made me feel like they weren't being transparent about the product I actually paid for. Overall, they refused to stand behind their work, didn't honor what they originally told me, and were extremely hard to reach once problems came up. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company at all.

Louis Auto Glass is now Safelite -- unfortunately…read more Having done thousands of dollars worth of business with LAG over the years and being treated very well, I am sorry to report that Safelite is not carrying on with that shop's ethos. About a month ago I brought my car in to diagnose a leak in the windshield, apparently caused by a lower cowl deforming over time and allowing water to leak in behind the dash. Both a technician and a manager came out to look at the issue, and the the technician told me to source the part and bring it in for an "easy 10 minute installation; I've seen this many times with this particular car." The manager concurred. I sourced the part and called yesterday to make an appointment for the install. The curt, unhelpful person on the phone ("Mara") insisted that this was not possible and that the repair must have been from the Louis Auto Glass days and was no longer part of their service. Except that LAG became Safelite three months ago--and the signs for the latter were already on the building, uniforms changed, etc. She further insisted that she had no way of billing for the job because it had no "labor code" or similar that she could send to a particular technician's phone (huh?!). Then she said I should bring the car and part in because "a technician might decide to do it." (Again, what?!) When I asked the obvious follow-up, namely why I'd bring the car in if they couldn't perform the service, she said "in case they can recommend something." Like what? Completing the job they'd already suggested and specified parts and a timeframe for? This place is somewhere between incompetent and indifferent, not a good look at a location that once housed a genuine, family-owned, service-focused local small business. RIP Louis Auto Glass. Confusingly, LAG's website is still up (they have other locations) with the Bellingham location featured. This saga does have a happy ending: Tyler at Lone Pine Auto Glass installed the part, showed me what he was doing and why, carefully explained that the part might not permanently fix the issue, and made a reasonable recommendation for next possible steps. Oh, and then he just shook my hand and didn't charge me! What a guy! So, Bellingham has lost a small business but also gained a new one. And the clowns at Safelite have lost a customer for life whereas Lone Pine Auto Glass just got a new one. This spring our ProMaster is getting a sunroof and driver-side panel windows. Guess who won't be getting that business?

Quality: They offer the only hand car wash in the area, and the quality has always been impressive. 2. Convenience: The shop is located on Pacific Street which is easy to get to from anywhere in the county. It has never taken more than a day for the job to be completed. I can drop my car off in the morning on my way to work, get a ride from the owner to my workplace, and get a ride back to pick up my car at the end of the day. 3. Excellent Customer Service / Accountability: I am a tough customer and not shy about making critiques, and Lee is extremely easy-going and always willing to go the extra mile to accommodate. I stopped by once on a busy day for a mini detail, and Lee didn't charge me as a courtesy because of the wait. Customer service like that is not common among small businesses in this economy. 4. "Customer is Always Right": What really stands out to me is Lee's commitment to his customers and their satisfaction. Like me, many people are high-strung about their vehicles and will except nothing less than the most superior quality. An example of this is what I witnessed about a month ago when I picked up my car after having it detailed: a customer became aggressive because he could still see a nasty ding with exposed primer after it had been detailed. He insulted the service, and belittled the employee who tried to offer help. Lee stepped in and: a. explained that the scratch was too deep to be buffed-out; and b. offered a complimentary paint touch-up. The customer quickly changed his tune in light of this outstanding customer-care. Hence, why I am writing this review. 5. Consistency and Longevity: This, coupled with the high standards of quality sets Bellingham Detail apart from its competitors - which is supported by the fact that this is a local business and has been under the same ownership since 1980.

When…read morewe took my vehicle back, the smug owner insisted that his employee who he claims is the best window tinter in town would never do such a thing. I would have definitely noticed if I had random and bizarre scratches on the rear view mirror of my daily driver. He wiped some things down and sent my father away. Mistakes happen - the detailer must have bumped it with equipment as I can assume from the marks, but I don't appreciate being patronized. I love supporting local businesses but for $220, I will be taking my vehicle elsewhere.

My old '99 van's window had gotten smashed on Tuesday morning, so I started calling around for a replacement estimate, and 1st Choice gave me the best price, even though it was a special-order window due to my van being so old.. Amazingly, my window was replaced just a couple days later, on Friday; and it wasn't an easy install.. during the process, it was discovered that the pre-existing dent on the door had bent the support rods on the interior of the door a little... but he was able to deal with it so well that the window now works perfectly- and here's the thing: even though that surprise damage lengthened the repair time, the price didn't change, and as someone who had to scrape the barrel for money to pay for the repair to begin with, I'm beyond grateful for that kindness! So few repair shops nowadays are willing to go the extra mile to complete the unexpectedly complex job without increasing the cost, simply to do it right.. it's noteworthy that 1st Choice Auto Glass is one of them and if you're in need of window or windshield replacement, I highly recommend this business!!
