Had already spent $1,000 trying to resolve issue to no avail. Alex and I discussed issue and he determined problem was in the engine harness somewhere. While tracing the harness, he found a loose bolt holding the ground strap to the cylinder. The bolt had been crossed thread and was loose, probably from 20 years ago when the car was bought. Alex rethreaded the hole and put a new bolt in. Alex is the person you want to see for your performance car issues. I highly recommend him. A wealth of knowledge. Thanks very much Alex.

It turned out my turbocharger needed replacing, and another issue could have potentially required a whole new engine. Given that my car has over 150,000 miles, Alex gave me his honest, professional opinion: it wasn't worth the investment. I am so grateful for his integrity. Instead of trying to talk me into an expensive repair, he prioritized what was best for me. It's rare to find a mechanic who cares more about the customer than the bottom line. I'll definitely be sending everyone I know to L-Spec!

*** RARE FIND ALERT *** HONEST *** HARD WORKING *** TOP OF THE LINE WORK ***…read more I strongly recommend Powerlab Motorsports. I own a 1993 GMC Typhoon, which I love dearly. I admit, I am a difficult customer when it comes to my truck - I don't know much about mechanics, I ask several questions, sometimes repeat my questions and I expect nothing but the best. I also contact the shop, a lot. Mario and Anthony somehow find a way to deal with me in the most professional manner and I cannot thank them enough. Prior to meeting Mario and Anthony, I had very bad experiences with mechanics, unnecessary headaches, costs/expenses, BUT, everything changed for me ever since I went to Powerlab. Even though I do not live anywhere near the shop, it is worth it to me to drive the extra miles or have my truck shipped/towed to Powerlab because I know they will take care of me and in the long run, I end up saving. When my car is with Powerlab, I am relaxed and also excited because I know once I get it back it will feel amazing. The attention to detail is beyond anything I have ever seen and I will never let anyone else ever work on my Typhoon. Everyone reading this review has had a terrible experience with a mechanic or dealership - at Powerlab, you will find a couple guys who work hard, are honest, priced fairly and are extremely knowledgeable. I see a lot of Mustangs there as well and I believe they mostly focus on domestic cars. Mario and Anthony love cars and it shows. It's more than a business to them, it is a way of life and passion, and as the saying goes, "the proof of the pudding is in the eating" - I can go on and on discussing evidence of their work but you will find out once you actually have them work on your car.

I took a chance and went in search of a mechanic I can take my Forester to from now on. I discovered Gardena Auto and spoke to Albert. Very knowledgeable and mature. He was so generous with his time over the phone before I even gave him my business. After taking my car there, he quickly got to it and checked off things my car would need aside from fixing the horn. He explained work cited necessary by Subaru that was not needed after he combed through the car himself and which work was needed. Patient in explaining details and the why's and why not certain claimed items needed repair. All in all, I got my car back the next day and paid a fraction of what I would have paid to fix my horn at Subaru! Albert repaired 4 areas for a less than what Subaru was charging for the one horn repair! Also, Subaru charges over 200.00 to do diagnostic in horn. Not refundable if you take elsewhere to be fixed.
