We were referred to Accurate Automotive and have been taking our car here for everything ever since.... I just had to have get a new battery and the staff is very friendly and helpful. First off, Brian is gone. He moved. If you read most of the high star reviews here they commented Brian as being the man. Now he's gone and their customer service is terrible. Walk in, and wait for 3-5 mins or more while the guy sits at the computer and barely even recognizes you're there. This has happened multiple times to me since Brian left. Loved Brian, he was a solid dude who tried to really take care of you. I went in to get multiple issues fixed on my car. Loud road noise, extreme shaking on breaking, possible alignment issues. I asked them to look at all the wheels and do a 21 point inspection because I just past 100k miles. The shaking they didn't fix the first time and I had to return. I was told by Brian that the road noise was reduced from fixing the shaking but wasn't entirely fixed due to needing a motor mount part that wasn't essential and was costly but if I wanted to go that route I could. I decided not too. They told me they did an alignment and balance adjustment and a few other random things. I asked them to fix my windshield wipers, as they have sprayed water in a few weeks. They told me I needed new tubes because mine were gunked up and weren't passing water. Luckily They needed to order the tubes and I decided to Hold off for now as I needed my car for work. A few weeks later decided I should get the motor mount thing fixed because the noise my car was making was unbearable. When I went back I found Brian had left. I informed them off this mount/noise issue and what Brian said, but he didn't note it anywhere on my paperwork and what I was saying sounded like French to the new guy so I just had them look at all the wheel related stuff again to fix the loud road noise. They came back saying it was 100% due to my tires being extremely worn. So fair enough, but why didn't they see my tires were basically extremely bear the first time? So I went and got new tires, and the road noise got worse. By this point I am done with the place so I went and got a second opinion. I didn't mention I had a bad experience or that I had been anywhere else but they came back with a laundry list of issues and solutions that didn't match up at all with what these guys were saying. That was the nail in the coffin and I can definitely say, I won't be a returning customer. Good luck to all who try to get work done here. read more

I just got my A/C fixed by Poway Precision. My 2018 Kia Soul had a part that melted and they knew what the problem was when I described it, they quickly knew how to fix it and they did an OUTSTANDING job! The guys who work there are all very kind and considerate and will answer mechanical questions about your car - they are so kind when I am there, I appreciate them very much! These guys are great. I live in the San Francisco bay area and experienced an overheating transmission with my 2009 528 BMW during my drive to Poway. I was a little leery of taking my car to an auto shop I was unfamiliar with, especially since the auto shop I take my car to is fantastic. Precision Automotive was just as good. Anthony was very friendly, helpful and professional and the mechanics who worked on my car performed an excellent diagnosis and gave a detailed inspection with (photos). They showed me a few things like a minor fuel leak that I wasn't aware of. They did not try to up-sell me on anything and were very honest. I was down there for comic con and the inspection they did on my car and advice they offered gave me peace of mind for the rest f my visit. Don't come here if you have ANY performance parts, even if they are all legal. They did a 2.5 hr in depth inspection and failed me for a pcv catch can the prevents the burning of contaminated oil. My car spent 30 minutes on the lift while they poked around under the car looking for more stuff. My car had passed smog the previous 5x over 10 yr without issue until now. read more

I am downgrading PAA 1 star after my smog check experience. I waited about a month for them to get the smog machine fixed because I trusted PAA and I also wanted to support local business. My 95 Acura failed the smog and PAA will charge $100 (with $50 discount) for the diagnosis. And to get a free retest, I have to get my car repaired at PAA. I swallowed the $40 I paid for the test and went to the shop I always went to because they charge $65 for diagnosis and the fee will be waived if I get repairs done there. Simple math, I was not paying $100 to save $40. The bottom line is if you have an older car that may fail the smog I don't recommend coming here. read more

I was referred here for and alignment and scheduled an appointment. The place was easy to find with a large sign off the main road. When I arrived they gave me an estimate and told me the work would take a couple of hours. One of the guys mentioned a shopping center near by. It has a coffee shop, some eateries - even a movie theater, and took about a 10 min walk to get to. My car was done when they said it would be, and the cost was as estimated. The staff was great, - friendly and professional. A few weeks later I returned to have some recommended repairs done and had the same great experience. read more

In the North County, specifically the 4S, Rancho Bernardo, Poway, Rancho Penasquitos, Del Sur, and Scripps Ranch areas, Poway Accurate Automotive (PAA) should be your go to place for anything smog related. Bryan the owner and his business stands for integrity and professionalism. Other smog places like Poway Smog not so much. I've had both my cars serviced for a smog check and both times, I was treated courteously and was provided exemplary customer service. Allow me to relay a story of today's experience with Edith from Poway Smog. With my Pennysaver coupon that gave me a discounted price of $30, I proceeded to search for PAA, but because it had been a little time since my last visit, I had forgotten where they were located. Thinking I had found the place, I parked in front of a smog place, but there was no PAA signage. As I parked, a lady, who I found out was named Edith, came out the door and motioned me into an open bay of the business. I asked Edith if her business was Poway Accurate Automotive and she replied it wasn't. Edith stated, "We take business from them all the time." I asked Edith if she honors competitor's coupons to which she said "No", but that she would give me a good price. She even said that PAA doesn't really charge $30 and I replied that I've used this same coupon with PAA in the past. She told me that she charges $48, so I said "No thanks" and quickly exited her business to find PAA. I have zero tolerance for people with no integrity and you should too. PAA is one driveway before Poway Smog and they are locates next to a U-Haul business. PAA's tagline is "We are honest, have integrity and will do only necessary repairs." Talk to Bryan or his father, who are respectful and seem like good guys. I personally can attest that these guys have strong integrity. Eric patiently described all the work the Technician would be doing, providing pictures of the areas involved in the possible repair. Since I have a leak that appears to be from the Power Steering pump, they recommended and subsequently did a total clean up of the under carriage and asked I bring the car back again to properly check where the leak was coming from. I've been bring my car to Poway Accurate Automotive for service for almost 18 months now following a recommendation from a few neighborhood shops after hearing about my Evans Tire & Service Centers nightmare and knowing how difficult it can be to find a honest mechanic let alone a reliable auto repair shop. (See "My reviews" Evans Tires posted 5/12/2015.) Since coming here, I've dealt with Brian Sparling, shop manager, the owner (sorry don't remember the name but he's also very attentive and honest) along with a few mechanics - and all of whom maintain an air of professionalism and are able to explain repairs before the work is performed on my car. More importantly, I've never once had to return my vehicle - post maintenance - because of any unresolved mechanical problems once the car was worked on. Can't say enough good things about this shop. Highly recommended if you're in need of reliable auto repair work. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and everything is supervised and all work is reasonably priced. They solved a problem that NO ONE else could! Thank you!!! I bought my used 2004 Honda Accord for a great deal because its one and only issue was that it burned through oil quickly. The previous owner mentioned that he had taken it to several shops and no one had an answer. When I brought it in to Dirk, it was burning through a full tank of oil halfway through the 3,000 mile mark. He said there was a process his mechanic had used successfully on a Toyota, and that they were happy to perform on my car. It's a fairly new and not known procedure. And guess what! It worked! Mike did a fantastic job and now my car runs great and goes through oil at a normal rate. Pricing is reasonable given they run an honest and straightforward shop, which I find to be priceless! Dirk and Mike were friendly, helpful and delivered excellent service. My car got a new lease on life and I will recommend this shop to anyone and everyone. This shop is good, fast and fair. I am always wary of automotive repair shops, as a female I feel I may appear more vulnerable to potential cons in the industry (not that the industry is overtly corrupt, but you understand the essence of what I'm saying). For this reason, I always do my research on average cost of time and material, as well as look into the recommended services and have them checked by a third party. That said, I highly recommend Accurate Automotive. The manager, Brian, was professional, polite, informative and hilarious to boot. He worked with me to diagnose the issues with my vehicle, never attempted to "up-sell" me and seemed to give very genuine, unbiased advice. Their pricing is more than fair and they even performed additional tasks at no extra charge (like cleaning the corrosion off of my battery). I had a simple but also an emergency job to do... The left brakes were grinding, and my daughter was coming to town. .. When we arrived, we were told by the manager (Dirk) that he was down two mechanics and that he wasn't sure if we could get done by closing. He said, also he do his best to squeeze us in... As if by magic, less than a half hour later, we were done. Barely had time to finish my coffee!! Dirk and his team did an outstanding job; this is the way customer service should be! I've been going to Poway's Accurate Automotive for many years, and I'm sad to say that service has really slipped since Brian left and the shop has been under Victor's management. The experience I had here a few weeks ago forced me to cease going there and find a new shop. It started when I walked in the morning of my appointment and was asked to sign a consent form stating that there would be a $125 fee to look at the car. I was confused, as I wasn't told on the phone that they had started charging clients for diagnostic work. I explained that I hadn't been notified of the fee, and that if I had, I would have made other arrangements (money is really tight right now). I asked when they started charging the diagnostic fee, and Vic's reply was, "We've always charged it, but if you got the repairs done, we deducted it from your bill." Well, I've kept almost all my old bills, and can verify that that's NOT true. I went back several years and never once was there a fee to look at the car. Vic wouldn't waive the fee, and I had made arrangements for a friend to come pick me up, so I signed the form and left. Vic was totally disinterested in my distress and clearly didn't care about my business. To make matters worse, when I came back to get the car, I noticed that the "quote" I had asked for was simply a singe paper stating what he *thinks* is wrong with the car - no amounts for repair, nothing! So, I paid $125 to know what he thinks is wrong, not how much it's gonna cost to fix. I notified August, the owner, and told him how disappointed I was in the service and the quality of the work. He apologized, but did not offer to refund me the $125, only said "I'll make sure we are mentioning that when making appointments, and appreciate you bringing that to my attention." He emailed me corrected quotes for the suggested repairs, which was helpful. I am, however, out $125 and had to start all over somewhere else. I highly suggest you look elsewhere for car repairs. I will no longer be coming to this shop, and I will never again recommend it to anyone. If you're looking for a great car shop, I had a wonderful experience with Sam at Transmasters Auto Repair on Miramar Rd. He was kind, thorough, and did a great job with the $1500 in repairs on my van. Head his way for great service! read more

My check engine light went on and my usual go to shop is Poway Precision Automotive. I have been taking my car there for years, but as they were closed on Mondays and Poway's Accurate Automotive has the same owner, I decided to call them instead to see if they could take my car immediately. I spoke with Brandon who was very friendly and he encouraged me to bring it right in. There was a lot to be done so the bill ended up being higher than I had wished, but they were extremely thorough and I was sent a link that brought up my car's profile which included detailed summaries and photos of all the issues that needed attention according to a green, yellow, red system of importance. They needed to hold on to it for two days, but graciously provided me with a loner car, which ended up being a Lexus. When all of the immediate issues were fixed, Brandon gave me a timeline of suggestion for the yellow and green issues that would require future attention. I was very impressed with their attention to detail, my car is running well and I will be using there services again soon. Highly recommend! read more

Had my son's car towed there because it would not start. Informed "Vic" that AAA advised battery was good. Nevertheless was charged $62.50 for "diagnostic" time plus top dollar for parts and labor. Total for a new starter was roughly $677.00-this strikes me as too much. Splitting the bill with ex-wife and she's complaining to me as well. I objected to the diagnostic fee, but to no avail. How much diagnosing could it take to determine starter was bad? I knew that when I sent the car there. The only plus was that they fixed on a Saturday, but three stars due to high prices and bogus diagnostic fee. read more

I just got my spark plugs redone here about 6 months ago. My check engine light went on and I have had some jerking feelings from the engine when idling, so I took it to another place. They said the wrong spark plugs were installed for my car, so now I get to pay for them to get replaced AGAIN. Definitely not happy. I had an appointment with another smog check center but turned too early off Pomerado road. They were able to take my car almost immediately and had it done in less than half an hour. I went to get my car aligned last week; Brandon had a complete inspection done on my car which was free. They offer free lyft home as well. It turned out that I did not need an alignment. So it was totally free of charge. Fortunately they discovered that my radiator hose was leaking and on the brink of snapping right off . He advised me not to drive the car until it was fixed. They also found that my transmission fluid was almost black. I did not get the repairs done with them, because a we have a good family friend who did the work at cost. The radiator hose snapped off in his hand. I am so thankful they were honest and discovered a very serious problem with my car. read more
