I'd been thinking about donating my hair for a while, since I'd been growing it out for almost three years, and when my cousin mentioned that Sandi does free cuts for people donating their hair, and also that her salon was super close to my house, I had to jump at the chance. It was a pleasure working with her on Saturday morning. I showed her a picture of the type of cut I was going for and she rendered it wonderfully, and also gave me a bunch of tips on how to style it and give it volume (my hair is extremely straight, even when short)! All through the haircut I noticed how meticulous she was about every aspect of the cut. I also asked her if it would be possible to color my hair dark red without having to bleach parts of it (it's naturally black), and she was super open to working with me on what could be done. Needless to say, I've got another color appointment coming up in a couple of weeks!

And I'm pretty sure illigal. There was something else about refusing a service.. which should have never been booked and i was asked up front if it should be moved to another stylist. I had JUST recieved a performance review three days prior that was nothing but glowing praise. From my attendance and work around the shop, to the revenue and tips i was bringing in with my work. That same day there were some very choice, quite racist talk from the front desk. He chose to speak about Indian women, claiming that they smell bad, are finicky, and then mocked the accent. And then shockingly referred to them as "curry queens" in a very derogatory manner Not coincidentally, two days later she decided to fire my partner who had been a loyal employee for 6 years... claiming he had missed too much work... when he had been legitimately sick twice. He was fired through a text message and asked to collect his things. The stylists are fantastic, but over worked and grossly underpaid.

Hair so thick I have a Le$bean undercut to try and thin it out but even then, hella thick. My stylist had absolutely zero issues with the thickness of my hair, nor my mother's. Seriously, Imma say it a couple times in my review: book with Juju or Christina Beall. I first came here to redeem a Groupon when I moved from Los Angeles and I've been coming back ever since! I was lucky enough to have Juju (@hair_jujuyi on Instagram) as my hairstylist and I plan to go to her as long as she's at Capelli Salon. Not only is she the absolute SWEETEST human I've ever met, but she was also able to take out my e-girl green bangs and fully transform my hair into a shaggy wolf cut with curtain bangs while stripping all the green and getting me back to my dark brown color. I'm sad to see these negative reviews b/c what I loved about this place is that my stylist was 100% dedicated to me, and me only. she wasn't switching around or bouncing between customers. I straight up saying loved this place so much, I ended up recommending it to my mom, who went last week and raved about her experience. As a woman of color whose second language is English, my mom tends to shy away from places that she's not comfortable with, but she absolutely felt at home here. Her stylist was: Christina Beall WOMEN, MEN, NON-BINARY, GENDER FLUID FRIENDS. I 100% recommend you go and get your hair cut by Juju as well. - Upscale vibe - Modern aesthetic - LGBTQ+ Friendly - WOC/POC stylists available - FREE parking - FRIENDLY SERVICE; i was offered tea, soda, and sparkling water - expert balayage, wolf cuts, curtain bangs, and all the trendy TikTok haircuts/style you know you're tempted to get.

I first called, but my call went straight to voicemail, so decided to text and ask for an appointment on a certain date. They texted back to ask for my name, but I didn't hear back after I replied. So I called and made an appointment with the stylist that my friend recommended - even spoke with him directly on the phone and also confirmed with him a week before my appointment. A day before my appointment, I got a call from the salon asking if I could push back my appointment by an hour from noon to 1pm. I agreed. Everything was good and well. A little bit of a hassle with booking, but I'm assuming they were busy, so it's okay. I arrived at the salon 15 mins prior to my appointment. However, when I checked in, I was told that the stylist had stopped working there recently. I was surprised, but they had someone available who could still work on my hair, so I was okay with it. I did wait about 15 minutes after my appointment time until my stylist was ready, but that's alright, as she was busy working on a client until then. My appointment was actually amazing. I went in for coloring, but after discussing with my stylist, we decided it would be best to just do a cut, as my hair would be hard to color correct. I told her what style I wanted - layers, v-shape in the back, face-framing in the front. She did exactly that. She even checked with me mid-way to make sure that the length was okay, and then she went ahead and kept working to make my cut exactly the way I wanted. Amber is amazing - even though my original plan didn't work out, Capelli made the magic happen in Amber's hands. She is very pleasant to work with, super soothing (I think her voice is calming!!!), and she allowed me to use my Groupon towards my appointment. Beautiful salon, excellent talent - very pleased! I wish they had notified me of my stylist's leave, but I guess all's well that ends well.
