The hiccup came in the cleanup and responsiveness after the project wrapped up. There's still room for improvement in their post-job customer care and communication, which is why I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5. I appreciate that they owned the issue and took action. I called Prater Concrete again because when our neighbors asked for a recommendation, I immediately referred them. Prater added a driveway extension leading into their backyard gate to store trash bins out of sight. The project turned out great and exactly what they wanted. I highly recommend Prater Concrete for anyone looking to upgrade their patio, driveway, walkway etc...Starting with Amber's estimate and wonderful ideas, through the pouring and then finish work I couldn't have been more pleased. Prater does great work at a reasonable price, are quick but also efficient, and warranty their work as a bonus. The Star medallion was a last minute addition but looks amazing. Coming from WA State, we didn't expect what we received, but we are more than happy. We will definately be using them for our next concrete project! read more

* AVOID PRATER CONCRETE * About 2 months ago we spent about $2500 installing a sidewalk / retaining wall on the side of our house. The crew took the check, then didn't come back to finish the work, so we had to place a hold on the check to get Prater to send a crew back out to finish the work. Ryan Prater rudely told me they were done and hung up on me when I told him I wasn't paying him until he finished. Well they did fix the last of the work, but then less than a month later a hairline fracture formed and it kept getting bigger and bigger. So I sent an email and left multiple messages, but they are refusing to respond. They seem nice up front, but they have zero customer service and don't appear to care if they do a poor job. read more

I hired Prater to replace 600 s/f of driveway and pour a pad for a 10x16 storage building. They screwed them both up. Pathetic, substandard concrete work. The pad was neither square, true, correct size or level. The Tuff Shed folks had a hard time making it work. Ryan Prater would not return a call or text. The driveway has deep grooves down the center. The imprint of whatever machine they were using before it was dry. I regret hiring these folks. read more

We had our pool deck redone, paid for extra peers and the deck seal, after two months it had cracked and moved causing damage to the coping stones and pool fence. Tried to communicate with them, was told I'm on a repair list, that was two months ago, no one's bothered coming around, no one replies or takes my calls. Avoid if pool related, their demo also damaged my waterfall I had to repair myself and knocked of some tiles and moved some coping stones I repaired myself. read more

We had hired the company for extending our patio in our backyard. They were very prompt until they completed the work. Upon completion, when we looked at it, it was not symmetric and they had made one edge longer than the other spoiling the look. Despite that we paid them fully thinking they would be professional enough to come and fix it. However after more than 3 months and innumerable calls and texts, they have not come down to even look at how bad their finish is and offer any support. We are thoroughly disappointed and I would certainly not recommend hiring these guys to anyone I know. Pathetic service. For the money we pay, there are more options that probably would provide you with a better service and quality. read more

We highly recommend Prater Concrete. They did a great job on our 18x13 patio extension and walkway around the back of our house. They did exactly what we wanted and are very skilled at their craft. We didn't have to worry about a hot concrete load because they have their own concrete truck that mixes the concrete on site! Will hire again for more work in the future. read more

Ryan and crew did a great job on the initial flatwork but left the finish work to others which quickly showed streaks / drip lines and was blotchy. He stopped replying when I requested that he inspect the finished product to see the issues I was seeing. Just about a year in and looks like it should be re-finished not to mention the cracks that have appeared. read more

Be warned, do not do business with this company! I was referred to Prater Concrete from a few coworkers who had used them and had a decent job done. Well I can promise you mine was more in line with the reviews you see on here. I had a 16'x24' patio poured with what was supposed to be stamped concrete. The slope they put on it is horrible, might as well shingle it and call it a roof. Young kids did all the prep and one of the Prater brothers showed up only when it was time to pour. They waited way to long to stamp and it looks terrible. The stain job was even worse and bubbles up so now it's just washed out in places. Honestly I get mad every time I look at the job they did. I told him I wasn't paying until he fixed it and he tried to show up while I was at work and bully my wife into giving him the check. Run from this company, run fast! read more

Initially, at our first meeting with Mr. Prater, my husband and I were very impressed. His company couldn't offer the complete service that we needed, but he said that he partnered with a company that could. He assured us that he'd provide the person's contact information on the invoice, should we decide to go with him, which was great. On 27 April , we gave him a $790 check as a deposit to secure our 14 June 2021 start date, Our check was immediately cashed, and we received the invoiced, but not contact info for the partner to complete the pergola. My husband reached out the same day, via email, text, and phone call, to no avail. Figuring that maybe he was busy, we gave him two weeks and reached out again. Realizing that we were wasting precious time waiting on Mr. Prater to get back to us, we decided to contact other companies to complete the work needed. On 10 May 2021, via email and text, we reached out again, this time requesting information or a refund. He responded on 11 May 2021, with the information to a representative from a local pergola/deck company. Unbeknownst to us one of the companies that we reached out to, was the same company (different person and offices) referred to us by Mr. Prater. We decided not to go with the company because we were given conflicting information from both reps of that same company. On 20 May 2021, we emailed called and texted Mr. Prater to informed him that we found a company who was able to provide all of the services needed and requested that our $790 be returned. However, as of today, 1 June 20210, he has not responded. We chose this company because of their ratings and because Mr. Prater seemed knowledgeable and professional. Well, he may be knowledgeable, but it appears to end there. As a 100% Disabled Veteran, with some often-times painful and debilitating health issues, it was important for us to get this project completed in a timely manner. Our decision to do business with this company caused us to lose precious time and possibly $790. Under no circumstances would I recommend this company. read more

Horrible customer service and horrible job! We had them come out late May to powerwash and re-stain our backyard patio concrete. We spent close to $2k and it did look good when they left but after a month it faded again and it showed streaks and it was blotchy. We have tried calling and emailing them 4 times to get them to honor their 1 year warranty and redo the job but no response back. Learn from our mistake and please do not use this company! read more
