Farm Chicken Mary"s marinated airline double chicken breast, calabrian pepper, aioli, farm vegetables & roasted yukon gold potato
    Shylo B.

My Husband and I were planning to go to another restaurant for his Birthday but we decided it was going to be too busy and too loud for the mood we were in so we headed down to Laurel street. We tossed between this and another place we have been a lot of times. We decided to give Pranzi a try. Oh My! I am so glad we did! We started with the burrata bruschetta and it was delicious! We ordered Conchiglie Free range chicken, broccoli sundried tomatoes sherry, wine & cream Entrees Farm Chicken Mary"s marinated airline double chicken breast, calabrian pepper, aioli, farm vegetables & roasted yukon gold potato These were both Devine! They were amazing and so full of Flav and complexity! It really was an excellent experience and meal. We are outdoors with a lovely heater and the staff was great!

Made a reservation for Easter for a party of 8. The inside has a good amount of tables as well as the outside. The menu had plenty of options. Everything was delicious! I would say the highlight had to be all the appetizers. They were a stand out. The pasta was fresh and the serving was HUGE! The dessert was perfectly sweet to top it all off.

Chicken Parmesan @ $29. Loved the preparation; pasta was fresh - but totally lacking in flavor - need to jazz up the sauce

Love the service here...not sure on the spelling, but Ayatullah was so enjoyable and really enhanced our experience - so friendly. We didn't do anything real exciting for food; beet salad - ok, Short Rib Ravioli - delish, Chicken Parmesan - fresh noodles but lacking in flavor, pretty bland But the ambience is nice - maybe better selections next time.

Pretty good for dinner! We visited Pranzi on a Sunday evening and got seated right away with no reservation. The interior had dim lighting, cute holiday decor, and felt both cozy and stylish. For drinks, I got a glass of the Storypoint Cabernet, which was decent. For food, I ordered the Crab & Shrimp Ravioli (specials menu) and my partner chose the Seafood Linguini. My ravioli was very good and the portion size was just right! I really liked the vodka sauce, although the asparagus wasn't my favorite addition. I didn't try the Seafood Linguini but my partner said it was pretty tasty. Would return to try more!

An unexpected favorite! My friends and I only walked by but the thought of fried calamari prevented us from walking any further! What we thought was going to be a casual girlies dinner turned into a delicious, date-night-level dinner. We ordered the fried calamari (of course,) a pasta, and a steak! Pranzi is for sure staying on our list for food options in San Carlos!

It was our 38th anniversary and we were just enjoying our day together. Going to check out a new restaurant and this look like a winner. It was the middle of the day so there wasn't much of a crowd. The restaurant very warm, clean and inviting. It was a little windy so we decided to dine in indoors. The calamari was amazing although we prefer a more traditional cocktail sauce, the beet salad was great and was enough for both of us to share. I got the seafood risotto which was fresh and had plenty of clams, muscles scallop and prawn. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli, and she really enjoyed it. And the meal with a surprise anniversary dessert that was perfect along with the cappuccino. And to top it off, we ordered a butternut squash, ravioli, and lasagna to go for dinner later. And I haven't even mentioned how great the service was. The staff is all suddenly very attentive yet not intrusive. Our server Cedric was amazing and very complementary.

First time visiting this Italian restaurant for a birthday celebration, and the experience was a mix of highs and lows. We started with Spanish octopus, calamari, and bruschetta, along with a bottle of red wine. The appetizers were definitely the highlight -- especially the calamari, which was excellent. Our waiter also gave great wine recommendations, which we really appreciated. For the mains, I ordered the ravioli, while my friends had the paella and squid ink spaghetti. My ravioli tasted great, but the portion was smaller than expected. My friend said the squid ink spaghetti was very good, so I'll try that next time. Unfortunately, the desserts were disappointing. The crème brûlée was below average, and the Napoleon was definitely not worth the money. One more thing: the waiter kept rushing us throughout the meal, which really killed the celebration vibe -- especially since we arrived at a normal dinner time (7 PM). That part was a real letdown.

Great customer service and the decor inside the restaurant was so cute for the holidays! We got the bolognese and the conchiglie and both were cooked really well and they give you a good amount of pasta. I personally thought the pasta could have used a bit more salt but that is something you can ask for at the restaurant.

We came here for our 10 year anniversary and the staff was all very kind in genuinely celebrating with us! They made a point to find a lovely table for us and give us say in if we preferred something else. They were very kind in serving us and bussing our table. The restaurant is dimly lit for a romantic atmosphere. The tables and everything were wood and rustic in the best way to make it cozy. Unfortunately the tables were a little close together and my husband got knocked into every single time someone passed which was less than ideal for a nice higher end restaurant. The food was delicious. My brown butter sage gnocchi was a dream. My husband's food was good, not nearly as good. The calamari was also good, though not the best we have had. The tiramisu we got on the house for our celebration was delectable though. Overall very good and with the genuine kindness of the staff it is a place we will be revisiting again.

Always the best service and food whenever we come to Pranzi. Andres and the team catered to our every need and the food is always delicious. The seasonal peach and burrata appetizer was one of the most delicious flavor combos we have ever had. The wine and cream sauce on the Conchiglie pasta is perfection. Thank you again, Pranzi!

Went to this Italian spot with some friends and had such a great experience! They have a lovely outdoor patio area that's perfect for catching up and enjoying good food. The staff were all super friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. We ordered quite a few dishes to share. Two salads, mussels, octopus, ravioli, lasagna, steak, salmon, poke, truffle Mac and cheese and paella. Everything came out fairly quickly and was delicious, but the octopus was definitely my favorite! It was my husband's birthday, and they were kind enough to surprise us with a free birthday treat. It was such a thoughtful touch that made the night extra special. Overall, great service, great food, and a really nice atmosphere. Would definitely come back!

Osso Bucco -- HUGE piece of veal!
    Steffan A.

Came here with my mom for my birthday, really enjoyed all of the food we ate. Hamachi appetizer was a nice, fresh way to start the meal. Osso Bucco was definitely on the heartier side. I was pleasantly surprised with how much meat came off that bone! Apple pie thing I had for dessert was a perfect, sweet ending to the meal. Wasn't too busy for a Friday evening, they have a nice outdoor set up on the closed-off street. I don't remember the servers coming by to check in on us and that's typically a big deal for me so one less star. Would def come back though!

The ambiance was dark and homey, which was perfect for dinner. The service was amazing and our server kept checking up on us, and was very informative while we were deciding what to order. The short rib ravioli was pretty good but was quite heavy to try and finish by yourself. The pasta was flavored perfectly, but definitely get the Parmesan on top for a little bit more flavor. We'll definitely be returning here to try out different dishes.

At first, I wished it were a little crispier, but I realized some pieces were cooked better than others (would prefer if all pieces were crispy!). It was one of those dishes that got better the more I ate it and I think I enjoyed it so much because of the sauce it came with. Nice espresso flavor, but I would have liked more ladyfingers in proportion to the amount of creamy filling/topping. 9. Limoncello cake, $14. I made several excuses, reluctantly agreed, and was fully prepared to say, "I told you so." Well. I was wrong. My son ordered the linguine with clams and loved it. He ate every single bite, which is always the most convincing review in our family. I had the kale salad and the hot honey pizza. Both were solid, not life-changing, but very good. The real star of the evening was our server, an affable older Italian gentleman who made the entire meal feel warm and effortless. There was one mix-up with the salad, and I was initially brought something with apples and blue cheese. I hate blue cheese. He apologized immediately, corrected it without any fuss, and left the other salad with us on the house. Also, the bread. Warm focaccia and ciabatta served with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and garlic. We inhaled two baskets and showed absolutely no restraint. So yes, after eight years, Vivace has earned a complete reversal from me. My reluctant Father's Day dinner turned into a genuinely lovely evening. The son was right, which I will admit publicly just this once.

Five stars isn't enough. Yelp should create a special category called "I'd let these people babysit…read moremy children." I've been to a lot of Italian restaurants. Some have great food. Some have great service. Vivace somehow has both, plus a staff so absurdly kind that I'm beginning to suspect they're running some sort of hospitality cult. Let's start with Kevin behind the bar. Kevin is calm, knowledgeable, and seemingly incapable of making a bad drink or a customer unhappy. If Jon Hamm and a perfectly crafted Old Fashioned had a child, it would be Kevin. He's got the charm of the guy you'd proudly introduce to your parents and the confidence of someone who already knows they'll love him. Then there's Dana, who may very well be the best bartender on the Peninsula. Her drinks are fantastic, but it's her personality that steals the show. She's so friendly that spending five minutes talking with her feels like you've wandered into an episode of Leave It to Beaver. If you're too young for that reference, just know you'll instantly feel welcome and probably leave wondering why everyone else in your life can't be that nice. Mike, the owner, is the kind of person who restores your faith in humanity. He treats you like an old friend even if you've never met him before. The man would probably give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, and somehow he'd make you feel like he was the one getting the better deal. Arrick, the lead server, is so unbelievably nice that at first I assumed it was an act. Nope. That's just who he is. He's friendly, attentive, professional, and somehow manages to make every table feel important. Sure, he's a good golfer and handsome enough to make your significant other suddenly take an interest in Italian cuisine, but I refuse to hold that against him. And finally, Linda at the front. What an absolute sweetheart. From the moment you walk in, she makes you feel like family. Not the Sopranos kind of family where someone disappears after dinner. The good kind of family where everyone eats too much, laughs too hard, and leaves happier than they arrived. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is wonderful. But the people are what make Vivace special. Come for the pasta...Stay because apparently every employee here was personally selected in a nationwide search for the nicest human beings alive.

It's been a long time since I've been so impressed with an Italian buffet ! We stared with a huge spread of anti pasta dishes - the rolled eggplant was amazing - the caprese salad was so fresh and amazing -pesto on toast was also a hit - the fresh mozzarella and prosciutto was amazing everything we had was excellent! The pasta course another hit - they make their own spinach ravioli and you can tell - I'm not usually a fan of ravioli but I had 3 beautiful plump raviolis - the marinara sauce yummy! Gnocchi my favorite- soft tender pillows with a beautiful cream sauce excellent! At this point I was FULL yet we still had the entree course - had a very small taste of the veal which would have been top on my list if I hadn't been so full - love the capers in this dish! Oh I had head about their Tiramisu! And guess what we had for dessert! Yes this is made in house too - very light yet full body flavored! Next time I'm going direct to dessert! I can't say enough positive things about the service here! These people are amazing - they were always clearing plates- offering refills of water or drinks- helping parents with children for food! If you're going to entertain a group this is the place! Yes parking can be intimidating as there is only street parking but at some point you will find a space. Great people with awesome food!
