Prairie's Edge is a MUST whenever in Kildonan Park. The name says it all. What a pleasant surprise to know this hidden gem is in the Peguis Pavilion! A greaaat treat after or before your park activities. You can dine-in either outdoor or indoor overlooking the duck pond depending on the weather or just grab-n-go to take home....maybe a lovely picnic again depends on the weather. When we arrived for lunch, it wasn't too busy so we were seated right away. The friendly server was fast and efficient with everything from start to finish. Ouh là là, my Beet Salad was sooo fresssh and delisssh!! I enjoyed it while watching the nice view of the park. I highly recommend this charming eatery to the Yelp Community :-) read more

I have had three wonderful breakfast experiences at Prairie's Edge over the past two months. On each occasion I was part of a group of six or eight.. the service has always been excellent.... prompt but not intrusive, efficient, and friendly. The food was delicious...the Prairie breakfast special was excellent.... many choices, well prepared and presented... and delicious. Considering the number of people I have had breakfast with at Prairie Edge I have never heard a negative complaint. ...And the setting and atmosphere is simply lovely!! Dined at Prairie's Edge before a show at Rainbow Stage. My wife and I both had the Pickerel Fish and Chips. Since I was not familiar with the name pickerel, I looked it up and found it was Pike, specifically what Minnesotans would call Walleye. That's what enticed us to order it. Boy, are we glad we did. We got two very large filets of the fish with a delightful batter crust as well as a huge mound of perfectly cooked fries. The tartar sauce was perfect for the dish. So glad we came here for the food, and the service was really very good and very personable. read more

We had a very special celebration today. The food was excellent - very well prepared, perfectly seasoned. The wait staff spoiled it. She was superior and condescending. She was unwilling to accommodate desires not in her plan. Special celebration and we wanted to sit overlooking the pond. She had reserved a table beside a pillar and looking over an unused courtyard. 3.5 stars for waitress politeness. She was very resourceful and nice but she never refilled our drinks and waters. My friends liked their cheese burgers but we four ordered poutine and it came with sauce that was a bit too salty. Also, our cheeses were not melted at all. I like my poutine's cheese to be somewhat melted, like right in the middle of cheesy goodness. The gravy sauce did not cover most of the fries. My friend ended up putting some ketchup on some of her fries to dress them up for eating. The fries were crunchy and good to eat but it didn't feel like we were eating a real "poutine". read more

Food was fantastic. Sitting outside on the patio was beautiful. Service on the other hand? It was fast but at the end we didn't leave a tip due to our different cultural and the waitress who was serving us, confronted us by stating "Was my service not worth your gratitude?". I was baffled by that and offended. Not everyone can afford to tip or it might not be from their culture. read more

A group of 7 went to Prairies Edge for dinner. I had been there before and the food was good but it didn't make me want to rush back. The girls in the group chose the location this time. And I am so happy that I did. I can't wait to go back to have the smoked beef brisket! My husband ordered the lobster Risotto special that evening and we usually split dishes. The Lobster Risotto was very good but the brisket was totally mouth watering. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and I wished I could remember his name. The selection of drinks was very good, the service was excellent. No one had any complaints about their meals. We were there past closing finishing off our desserts and they didn't rush us out. I was a bit skeptical because of some of the reviews but so happy we did go. I am looking forward to going back. read more

Great for the most part. The one thing that I noticed that I didn't like was that when the girl behind the bar went around the restaurant refilling water glasses, she touched the water bottle to the rim of ALL the glasses! GROSS! My sister had a hair in her food, but the manager took care of it right away and brought her out a new plate very quickly. Our server was extraordinary! The wine was a little over priced ($36 for a $14 bottle) and the scenery is lovely. The menu is diverse and everything we had was delicious and fresh, but my mom said her chicken breast (in the half chicken) was a little dry but overall tasty. The Saturday prime rib special is excellent! This was my second time eating here, and both times were a great experience! Will return again! read more

Great place for a special celebration or group dinner. The restaurant staff were great to work with. They created a special group menu for us and also offered a kids menu. We went skating and tobogganing beforehand and then headed up to the restaurant for an early dinner. The food was tasty and the service excellent. Highly recommend them! read more

Went for lunch today, based on their website's menu choices. We got there only to find they were only serving their limited, somewhat irregular Brunch menu. I selected Beet Fritters. The fennel slaw the deep fried battered beets were on was delicious, but the amount of slaw served was about 1/4 cup. The fritters were more batter than beets. I spotted a delicious looking cinnamon bun when I first entered the restaurant, so I ordered one. Disappointed once again. It was a stale bun microwaved. Yuk. Service was questionable and unpredictable. read more

The name has changed , but food and ambience is still lacking , it doesn't have an identity , simple, tasty , fare would be appreciated. Find a cohesive menu and take advantage of a beautiful location. Offer a menu for children during summer months as it is the only restaurant close to rainbow stage . Get competent and knowledgable staff. And make it feel more appealing then a cafeteria . The Wow organization has many restaurants surely they can correct this. I normally can't be bothered to take the time to write a review but our experience yesterday was awful. We had multiple families from out of town in for a funeral and my mother In Law reserved seating for 30 two weeks prior. When we arrived there were not enough seats and the the manager Michael was so frazzled we had to suggest to just add another table to the existing one. Not rocket science. You could tell he wS completely disorganized and watching him, his staff was struggling to get our meals out he did not help them once. The whole thing took 3 hours to eat brunch. Service was horrible for bland, unimpressive food. Our waitress (tall blonde with glasses) did not smile once and we had to ask multiple times for water, drink refills. She clearly did not want to be there. The food came out so slowly and one table at a time... When we were done eating the third table of us still had not received their meals. One shinning light was the tiny little brunette waitress that served my mother in law's table was a sweetheart and worked like crazy. She ended up refilling my coffee at our table since our girl was nowhere to be found. She did the best with what she had. Will not be planning to go back to this place and it's too bad because the setting and the restaurant itself is really cute with great views. read more
