A neighbor recommended Cindy at Practical Bowen Therapy in Loomis, and we've now had about 12 visits together. We live in Sun City and look forward to our couples Bowen Therapy sessions every two weeks. I've noticed that Bowen Therapy is helping with my sleep, and I believe it's helping with my anxiety. We both find the sessions deeply relaxing--sometimes we joke that we've been snoring! Tom is a Vietnam veteran, and helicopter sounds used to frighten him. During a Bowen session, he heard loud helicopters overhead and realized they weren't bothering him. He says that has continued since then. On a recent flight home, he also noticed that he didn't experience his usual nervousness or fear. There has also been an improvement in ankle flexibility. An ankle that had been stiff, with metal hardware from surgery, now feels much more flexible. I found Cindy through the Loomis community Facebook group and decided to try Bowen Therapy, even though I had never heard of it before. I deal with chronic pain, especially in my lower back from a bulging disc pressing on my sciatic nerve, along with hip impingement syndrome and a torn labrum. After just a few sessions with Cindy, I noticed a significant decrease in my pain levels and improved mobility. What really stood out was what happened recently--after lifting a queen mattress to set up a new bed frame (something I probably shouldn't have done), my pain spiked badly, as it usually does. Normally, I would expect to be in pain for at least a week, but within 48 hours, my pain was almost completely gone, or at least back to my baseline--if not better. That has never happened before. I came to Cindy with severe sciatica pain that was constantly shooting down my leg and affecting how I walked every day. Even though some pain is still there, it's nothing like it was before. I'm walking faster and better, and the constant shooting pain has significantly decreased. For a few years I had been having issues with my knee and shoulder due to a skiing accident. I initially went to a Chiropractor which helped but I wasn't seeing change as quickly as I had hoped for. I had seen a Bowen therapist in the past and decided to try it again. I found Cindy by Googling and then reading her reviews on Google and Yelp. I decided to give her a try and I'm so glad I did. While my knee is not 100% (and may not ever be at my age), it is a lot better. Stairs are much easier to navigate and I was recently able to start a yoga class! I highly recommend working with Cindy for Bowens Therapy. I came to her with a bulging L-5 disc and severe sciatic pain that ran from my lower back through my glute, down the left side of my leg all the way through to my toes. The pain was excruciating and I wasn't able to sleep or lessen the discomfort no matter what I did (including taking pain management meds- I usually try to avoid medications if I can, but the pain was so unbearable I was willing to try anything to get it to subside)... nothing worked or even touched the pain, until I saw Cindy. After my first Bowens therapy treatment with her my pain subsided by at least 70%! It's not hyperbole to say that it was a night and day difference in my pain before and after my first appt with her. I did not need pain management meds after my first treatment with her, and I finally got to sleep for the first night after 4 days of no sleep/nonstop pain. By my second and third appt I was walking normally again, and the pain was for the most part completely gone. I'm still dealing with some nerve tingling and flare ups in my foot, but I've found so much relief through working with Cindy for Bowens Therapy. I had been experiencing excruciating pain in my shoulder blade area and neck and it had been ongoing for about 2 months solid. I had a hip replacement this past March 2022, and physical therapy wasn't doing the total job. Some friends recommended Bowen Therapy, I must admit I was apprehensive in the beginning, but have become a true believer. Prior to the hip replacement, I'd developed some bad physical habits, favoring my bad hip, poor posture, strain on the good hip, muscle tightness in both legs, etc, etc. As my visits have progressed, I've turned the corner to a better self, with the following improvements: better posture, increased flexibility, less pain in the lower back and less pain in the new hip. I met Cindy on the tennis courts and she saw that I was in a lot of pain. I had tennis elbow from playing a lot of tennis. My husband and best friend kept telling me that I need to quit playing for three to four months but that was not going to work for me. I kept playing anyway. I tried alleviating the pain through deep tissue massages, cupping, icing, and taking ibuprofen. None of those things were helping. Cindy was telling me about Bowen therapy and I was skeptical at first and wasn't sure what to expect. I figured I needed to give it a chance since nothing else was working. I contacted this lady for a Lymphatic Drainage Massage, we spoke over the phone and texted aswell before reaching a conclusion. Towards my appointment time, I asked if I could come abit earlier and asked if my clothing would be ok to work with, instead of her trying to be helpful and answer my innocent questions she proceeded to cancel my appointment and said that she will not be able to see me even in the future. I am so heartbroken by this because I just had surgery and needed a massage. It was hard enough for me to find a therapist and after she agreed, I stopped my searched to be disappointed in the last minute. My body hurts really bad and needed the relief from the massage but I guess she doesn't care. Which is okay because she doesn't know me. But why be in this business if you can't sympathize with people? She is such a horrible person. read more

I learned about Bowen when our cousins told us about the Bowen therapy they were receiving in Maui over the holidays. They were extremely vocal about how it helped them with pain and injuries that had never been effective with anything they had tried before. Our male cousin had been extremely skeptical and did not ever feel any healing therapies were worth the money. After one session he became convinced and a believer in Bowen Therapy and highly recommended we try it. Fast forward to my husband and I returning back to the mainland. I found Cindy through the American Bowen Academy search directory. I felt so fortunate she was only located 10 minutes from us and signed up for a session right away. I went to her primarily for a tailbone injury I had experienced about a month prior when I had gone ice skating for the first time in 20 years. The pain in that area was excruciating but I was at a loss on how to alleviate it. After seeing Cindy she was able to fully heal the pain in this area COMPLETELY. After that I quickly recommended my husband David to see her and he was also extremely skeptical she could do anything for his chronic aches and pains he had been experiencing for years. He saw her for one session and couldn't believe the amount of relief he experienced on issues he could never find effective treatment for. Then my 6 year old daughter broke her wrist and Cindy was also able to treat her so she would heal from the break faster. In short I ended up having my entire family, including my father and my aunt to go see her all with amazing results! I also have Rheumatoid Arthritis, which is an autoimmune disease and had been taking Hydroxychloriquine and Enbrel to manage the pain and swelling. I had stopped taking these medications while on vacation, but my body was starting to exhibit flaring in my joints. I decided to take a chance to see if Bowen could help alleviate the symptoms. To my amazement AGAIN I experienced complete and total relief from my pain and symptoms when I went to see Cindy. Presently with the quarantine and self distancing mandates for coronavirus, I chose not to continue taking Enbrel for my RA because it suppresses the immune system. I was suffering from pain and stiffening of my joints as a result. Cindy offered to provide me with a distance healing session since we could not meet in person. I jumped at the chance to try and get any type of relief since I wanted to avoid using an immunosuppresant drug during the pandemic. Cindy was able to work on me remotely and the treatment was as effective as being in her office! I could tell immediately from the way I felt walking up and down our stairs because the pain and stiffness were all gone. It's amazing and can be hard to believe, but Bowen treatment can be performed successfully with a remote session as well as in person. After being in a car accident I was in a lot of pain. The range of motion in my neck was very limited and my neck would crack without me trying to crack it.(embarrassing) After my first session with Cindy I was a bit skeptical because I didn't notice much of a change in my pain. After my 2nd session I noticed less pain and cracking. After my 3rd session I noticed a dramatic difference. My pain was almost gone. My range of motion was near 100% and the best part was my neck no longer caused me cracking and popping embarrassment!!! I'm so thankful for Cindy's expertise and talent. Cindy is fantastic! You can tell her what's bothering you and she'll handily address it, but she's also very skilled at assessing your structure and figuring out the heart of the issue. Bowen is my favorite modality for my aching back and neck. Nothing is as effective, and I've tried EVERYTHING. For several years I've had problems with arthritis in my thumb which made it difficult to write, open jars, hold a paint brush and other tasks that require gripping with my thumb. I worked around not being able to have full use of my thumb until I developed tendonitis from my thumb to my shoulder and stopped being able to sleep on my side because of the pain. My doctor suggested cortisone shots. Cindy Bryan and Bowen therapy was recommended by a friend and the therapy worked. Initially, I had three sessions one week apart and then I moved to every three weeks. I can still feel some pain in my thumb but it's almost fully functional now. After years of hip and upper back pain from arthritis, and unsuccessfully trying chiropractic treatment, a friend suggested I try Bowen Therapy with Cindy.
