Scheduled two massages for my daughter and I on our road trip to Eugene. Normally, I am very discerning about getting massages and I'm very picky. After doing some homework on Yelp, I booked Luka (Marsha) for two LomiLomi massages. She did not disappoint. She helped relax me so much that I could literally feel layers being melted away. I wanted to try the LomiLomi since we just got home from Maui and I didn't get the massage I wanted. LomiLomi is long flowing strokes - not deep tissue - which I normally prefer. This is more calm, healing and soothing. I am super grateful we found Luka and will definitely come back on my drives up to Eugene! I was in the middle of handling a dental emergency and had completely forgotten about my appointment today - I never want to burn bridges with people so I am editing this response. What I wrote earlier is below: (I don't know if anyone in your organization reads the reviews or replies) I had scheduled a massage treatment the day after the 4th of July - and then had a dental emergency come up. I received a call right after talking to my dentist, that I had a massage scheduled at 11:30. Instead of trying to work this out with me, I was asked to pay $50.00 so they could pay their therapist without any consideration to what I was going through at the moment. We have a cancellation policy - and you owe us $50. I would have agreed to coming in at Noon, but I wasn't asked if I could make it at Noon. I was telling her about losing the crown and needing to get it put back on, and what I heard was are you going to pay the $50? I felt frustrated and upset for not listening to me or trying to make things work on their end. Okay, I paid it, but I wasn't happy about it. So you are hearing about it in my review. I called for a last minute appointment and voila! Lerin has one spot open for me. The studio is clean and inviting. Lerin was kind and gracious when I ran behind by a couple of minutes. (I arrived exactly at the time we scheduled, but being my first visit, I knew there'd be a tiny bit of paperwork.) I had a basic massage and it was lovely! I booked two 90 minute massages with Destiny for myself, and Shawna for my 27 year old son. After a conversation with Destiny I decided to try a lomi lomi massage and it was a fantastic experience - complete with Hawaiian music and coconut oil. Destiny is very talented. I usually go for a deep tissue massage, and lomi lomi is not really that. Instead, it is very revitalizing and if you are willing, includes your tummy and chest - areas that are mostly off limits in other types of massage. The first half of my massage was extremely energetic - both in Destiny's movements and the Hawaiian music. When I turned over things slowed down and she covered spots that no one else had found ever! When I had gotten dressed, I found my son literally melted into a chair in the waiting room. He said he had never had such a good deep massage, and he is a big muscular man. He remarked on the strength of Shawna's hands. And you should keep in mind that Shawna is at least eight months pregnant at this point. This is a very nice, clean, small and friendly establishment. I got an appointment within 24 hours. My son and I chatted with our masseuses for 5 to 10 minutes after our treatment and that was very friendly and cozy. I would highly recommend this business, and if you want to try a totally different kind of massage therapy, do try lomi lomi. I almost forgot to tell you about the narrow heated pillows that are laid on your upper and lower back! And the warm washcloth for your feet when the massage is over. read more

Spent a wonderful afternoon this past weekend with the ladies at Aloha Healing Touch Massage. I asked one of my bridesmaids to find us a place to get away for the afternoon to relax 1 month away from my wedding, and she found this little gem in Grass Valley. We did the deluxe package and it was worth every penny! Cammy and Marsha explained to us that Lomi Lomi is a "nurturing" massage and I have to agree. It was incredibly soothing and not as rough or painful as some massage can be. The massage itself was paired with a whole slew of wonderful scrubs, lotions, and things that generally still have my skin feeling great 5 days later. One tip: Google Maps may try to deceive you on where this place is. There is a S. Auburn road also in Colfax, and for some abominable reason despite the fact that we decidedly typed in the Grass Valley location, it still took us to Colfax! If you're using GPS I recommend using the store name rather than address to be on the safe side, you wouldn't want to risk missing out on the full treatment! read more

Wow!!! Seriously the best massage I've had in years! It was an amazing 2 hr Aloha massage with Destiny. She spent so much time working on my back using a combination of techniques. I'm used to getting Swedish massages at different massage locations but I loved the blend Destiny used. I'm not a pro but it felt like a mix of Swedish, Hawaiian (very long strokes using both forearms), and hot stones. I'm very picky when it comes to massages and I'm amazed at how "perfect" this massage was. She never asked me what kind of pressure I want but apparently she didn't need to. Maybe it's just her intuition but she used the perfect amount of pressure. There were a few places where it felt like a little too much but not enough to effect the experience as a whole. Thank you Destiny! I also had a very relaxing 60 min Reiki with Anja. This was my first Reiki experience. I truly enjoyed it but it's a little hard for me to judge because I was already like jello after the 2 hour massage that I don't know if the Reiki really added much. Regardless it was very relaxing. There were times when Anja would place a hand under me while I was laying on my back and it felt awkward. I would definitely recommend turning onto the stomach for these parts. I'm not sure if the massage table was on or if it's just me but I felt VERY warm during the Reiki session which was becoming uncomfortable. The only changes I would suggest is offer more cushion under the knees when client is laying face up. Maybe have the room dimmed more as well. Offer water between sessions if the client is having multiple sessions. Ask client if the table/ room is too hot. Overall wonderful experience!! I have visited a number of times, and since I booked last minute appointments online, I always got whatever therapist was available, so I got to experience 3 different therapists thus far, and so far every single one of them has been nothing short of absolutely AMAZING! Anja, Pranada, and Kalyani are the three that I have had appointments with and while each has their own style and strengths and differences, they are all SO very gifted not just in skill and technique but in intuitive presence. So much so that I have taken to booking appointments like this at random on purpose because I know whomever I'm paired with will be just the right person for what I need that day. My favorite massage is the 90 Minute Traditional LomiLomi massage, it is incredible. Where I live in NJ I get $50/hour massages from some Chinese ladies, and those massages are better, more thorough, than the one I got here which is $100/hour (for the deep tissue). The first ten minutes of my one-hour massage were a bit light and not what I expected from a deep tissue massage, so I asked "Is this a deep tissue massage?" and she said "I didn't know what you wanted."
