If you have hormonal or cystic acne DO NOT come here !  I had a Purifying Facial and LED Light session booked and it was the worst facial I've ever had. She did not communicate regarding which products were used and techniques, I had to ask her and even then she was vague.  She did extractions which I realize are part of the process but tried to go after extremely painful pimples that were not ready yet. I was tearing up on the table and asked her to stop and she rolled her eyes at me! I asked her isn't there anything else you can do? (Like a topical treatment, etc. and she did not answer.) She also plucked some rouge hairs of mine without asking me first. She used her bare hands/fingers the whole time while touching my face (as opposed to wearing gloves). I also did not see any credentials on the walls.  She finally left me under the LED light and did not come back to check on me, so I left. She saw me leaving and came out to inspect my face in front of a man and the receptionist which was highly embarrassing, I do not wish for my face and acne to be under public review. The man asked me if my acne got worse during 'that time of the month.' Just Wow. IF you know skincare, then you should know, acne is caused by many things, just drinking water wont fix it and that time of the month isn't the only cause. I left the place still bleeding with no moisturizer or SPF. I can only hope I do not have irreparable skin damage. Never again and at a loss of $120, no tip. read more

My husband and I have had different services done here in the past couple of months. My husband has had 3 different massages done by Nickie and he couldn't be happier. She makes sure of your preferences before she begins and checks in with you during the massage to be sure you are happy. My husband has also had a pedicure there and was thrilled with how his feet felt afterward. He can't wait to go back! I had a facial and collagen treatment which was heavenly. My friend and I had amazing massages and facials at Wolf Mountain Spa this week. It was such a luxurious and relaxing experience from start to finish! Scheduling was super easy. There's free public parking across the street. The spa itself is clean, quiet, and serene. One of the things that made our treatments uniquely outstanding is that the same person did the massage and facial, so no getting up/switching rooms/switching estheticians/massage therapists. Instead we could completely relax through the entire two hours. Our massage therapists/estheticians were Jen and Jan and they were both exceptional. I will 100% be coming back! Love this spa! Small but great! My girlfriend took me here for my birthday. Staff was excellent. We started in the wet steam room to relax, just the two of us. We had facials and massages. I came in for a PRP- vampire facial and it was amazing. First I received a microderm abrasion which made my face very soft and was relaxing. Then I received the PRP facial which was mixed with collagen. I almost fell asleep. After the procedure was over I noticed my skin was very soft and supple as well as extremely hydrated. After a few days I noticed a difference in the tone and texture of my skin and after 30 days I noticed my crows feet diminished. The recommendation is to get a few in a row a few months apart. I have not been to the Wolf Mountain Day Spa yet but my husband bought me a gift certificate to go there and get a facial for my Birthday present. I called today (Sunday) and spoke with the owner. He was very helpful extremely pleasant. I was inquiring about Hydra Facials. They do those there and I am very excited to get one done. I havn't even been there yet and I am already very impressed. As a guy I usually don't have much to say about spas, hairdressers, etc, but when I get really good service on anything I think I should let people know about it. For several months I've been getting my hair cut (what there is of it) at Wolf Mountain. Adrienne does a great job on it according to Jana, my partner, but the thing that impresses me is how I'm greeted when I arrive, how upbeat everyone is, how refreshing and pleasant the surroundings are and how well I feel when I leave. When doing this review I noticed an unkind review. I know several people who are regulars there and they all say they've never had a negative experience. I would suggest to those who complained that they might have have had a very untypical experience and that putting that behind them would make sense. I went for the first time to Wolf Mountain Day Spa and I was pleasantly surprised! I had an amazing massage with Nicole Lytle and enjoyed my time at the spa. Upon arrival I was promptly and warmly greeted and offered water or tea. Then while I waited for my appointment I was able to sit and enjoy the lovely decor of the spa. Once my appointment started, Nicole was very thorough about asking me what type of massage I needed, what areas to focus on etc.. but the best part was, at no time did I feel rushed!!! I live in San Francisco - and a lot of times when I have appointments, I feel very rushed along - which can be frustrating and defeats the purpose of getting a massage and visiting a spa in the first place!!! After a fabulous massage, I felt put back together - which is amazing for a mother of twins!!! I've been going to Wolf Mountain for 5 years now. I've experienced the waxing services, and received numerous manicures and pedicures from Kristi. Every time I go, it is relaxing and you are given 5-star treatment! The technicians have always been happy to answer any questions I've had, and I've never had any problems with rude staff; everyone is always so nice and accommodating. Highly recommend! Kristi is the best nail professional ever! She takes notes of each visit and keeps track of your mani/pedi services including the names and colors of the polish (and any extras) you've chosen during your visits. I have been very happy with the treatments themselves and the results I've seen with my skin. I've had one pedicure with Kristi, which was also a great experience. I met the owner Miriam the last time I visited the spa, and she is exceptionally sweet and friendly. I recently went to the Wolf Mountain Day spa to celebrate my birthday with my daughter. I had appointments for facials for both of us. The first half hour we were able to go in the steam room. It was OK, however some of the overhead shower heads were not working. There was also a used bottle of body wash and no shampoo or conditioner in sight. After the steam room, As we waited for our aestheticians, We were asked to wait in the lobby, which faces Main Street Grass Valley. There we were sitting in our robes And messy hair in front of big windows that face Main Street! We then each went with our respective aestheticians to get our facials. I explained to my aesthetician that I had some bumps on my cheeks that I would like to have extracted. She proceeded to apply several creams to my Face and when it was time to get down to business with the extractions, instead she just put a mask on my face. I didn't say anything because I don't want somebody who doesn't know what they're doing to do extractions on my face. But the facial service is misrepresented as that is One of the services they promote. When it was time for the neck, shoulder and arm massage I felt like I was being rubbed by a wet, cold fish. Her hands were absolutely freezing, as was the Greasy lotion that she applied on me. She used absolutely no pressure, so I can't really call it a massage at all. After the facial, she spent some time trying to upsell me on products. My daughter and I both went home and took showers because we felt so greasy. All in all it was a very disappointing experience, especially paying $95 for each facial. I have had facials in the past where I really felt like my skin had improved from the experience. I've been a devotee of Wolf Mountain Day Spa for some time and was delighted when owner Dan Wray took the Spa to a new level bringing Turner Medical Arts and medical esthetics to Grass Valley. Dan had told me about a soon-to-be available PRP facial-based on what is commonly called a "vampire facial" but this new version of the procedure is painless -no micro needling involved. Blood is drawn and processed to produce serum. The serum application is identical to the wand used for a collagen facial. Yesterday I was the FIRST client to have the PRP Facial at Wolf Mountain Day Spa and Woo-Hoo! The results were immediately visible and fabulous. I enjoyed a 30 minutes private steam room and was treated with a an hour and a half of therapeutic massage by a very talented and professional masseuse. My wife and I love going to Wolf Mountain Day Spa. Jen is always so kind and gracious and makes us feel so welcome. It is a reflection of the new ownership and their philosophy. We absolutely must have the European Steam every time we go in. A wonderful way to sweat out the toxins and get your lungs breathing. My wife loves the facials from Coco. She loves the DEP collagen treatments as they are very clean and fresh. She gets a deep extraction, followed up by an incredible infusion of Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, White Tea extract, Copper peptides. She used to get the Yonka facials, but as they are French based, they tend be a little heavier, which is great if you have super dry skin. She said she is not going back to Yonka, now that she has had the DEP. I get a deep tissue massage from Regie or Stephanie. Feels like I died and went to heaven. On our last visit I met the new owner. It was great to speak with him, as he has a wealth of knowledge and is incorporating new procedures and products. I've enjoyed several types of facials here, and really like the collagen facial by Coco. Had massage here too, and was really nice. The new owner, Dan, is often there with a warm smile, and generous spirit. Has always been squeaky clean, never too noisy or overcrowded, and is a wonderful pampering experience with real results. Today was BEST facial which included a collagen treatment that I've ever had and I'm thinking about Coco and my experience with her today at Wolf Mountain Day Spa and had to write this review with my FULL FIVE STAR. My mind went back to a memory in the middle of the facial (as I'm drifting in and out of falling asleep). Imagine attending a Fireworks display - you know that really special one! What made it so special - it felt like it would NEVER end. I remember the BIG show after the first 15 minutes, "The Grand Finale!" which was AMAZING but it didn't stop - it kept going. 20 minutes later - another GRAND FINALE with a beautiful display of lights that took your breathe away. Today, was the same - I felt relaxed, vibrant, enjoying the experience of the moment not realizing I still had 25 minutes to go. Then the BIG GRANDE FINALE (where the show ended but you were so hooked, you didn't want it to end). Well, a funny memory, but it brought back the same feeling. The desire for more and yet totally content. The final touches of a full facial massage left me in trance of euphoria. I revisited Wolf Mountain this past weekend for a massage with Erika and it was incredible! The new facility is so warm and charming and the staff is as fabulous as last time. This is a true haven. Erika's massage was so good that I could hardly speak for a few hours! They now have Natural Nails and a Hair Spa at the new location as well as a steam room with a shower that I can't wait to try!
