Best Indian food in Marin!! We've been getting dinner here just about every week for 7 years since we moved to Marin and we've never been disappointed. The food is amazing, the staff is so friendly and gives great service. We are always greeted with a smile and love eating here and getting take out. I'm so happy they survived through the pandemic! Tried bunch of items from their menu such as samosa chaat, pakoras, chicken Briyani, paneer saag, chili chicken, etc. everything was delicious except for karahi goat which I had to send back because it was not cooked at all. Five and a half years later, we're back to Prabh. And maybe we were taking a BIG risk doing it on Christmas Day - after all, service was the big downfall back in 2013. But they've persevered, which is not an easy task in overly expensive, on the fringe of gentrified Mill Valley. But Prabh still makes the great food we remember back then. No clue if anything has changed in the kitchen; I'm under the assumption that this is a quasi-family establishment so they probably have a solid execution plan. It was PACKED at 4 PM on Christmas Day, so getting seated (we were a bit early for the reservation) was a task. And some of the initial bad memories - a lot of servers running around without a clear plan (actually there were very few before) re-emerged, but the simple fact that once we got seated, things went better, was a very good sign. And everything I said about the food way back when is still true. This place has few peers, even in the Bay Area, for excellent Indian Food. "Butter Chicken" can often please with fat but lack in flavor. Not so here, where the seasonings (even some I couldn't place) supported the richness of the dish. Baingan bharta was SO good I just kept eating it beyond feeling full. As we opted for mild dishes, that was the only one that was probably a bit more towards medium, but it was still fantastic. Aloo Gobi was terrific as well. Naan and rice (brown basmati) were perfect. Wine choices are appropriate for the cuisine and varied enough to try different options. We'll be back soon. Unfortunately I would not recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy Indian food. For 20$ I got a child sized portion of chicken tikka masala and on top of that naan was an extra 3-4$ charge. When I went to ask the waiter about this he shrugged at me and just walked off. He didn't seem to care about the customers, as we only saw him one time when we ordered our food and another when he gave us the food. We were the only ones in the restaurant and it still took 40 minutes for us to receive our plates! Meanwhile you can go to an Indian buffet with higher quality food for only 20$. The sauces and flavorings were very good. Naan was good. The problem is that the entrees are $15-$19 each and there's very little lamb and chicken in the dishes. 99% sauce, 10% protein. (Chicken tiki masala and lamb both masala.) I don't write a lot of 5 star reviews but I've worked in Mill Valley for 4.5 years and you don't get a lot of awesome lunch choices like Prabh! The interior is very nicely decorated and the menu prices are very comparable to other Indian restaurants I've been to in the area. The vegetarian lunch special is only $11 and provides more than enough food for lunch! The paneer matta was fantastic as was the naan, rice pudding, and other vegetable entree provided (I just don't remember the name of the second entree). I posted a picture of the lunch special (it also comes with naan) to show the portion. I will definitely be returning to Prabh for lunch very soon and ordering to go from them for dinner. A very welcome addition to the Mill Valley dinning scene that seems dominated by mediocre Italian restaurants. The interior is tastefully decorated and a significant change from the sushi restaurant that previously occupied the space. The food is authentic, delicious and all cooked to order. The papadums seemed thicker than normal and were generous in size and portion. The tamarin chutney, mixed pickle and mint sauce were all flavorful and delicious. I ordered the chicken Tikka Masala, it's my go-to dish and a good way to gauge how good a restaurant is. The chicken was moist and tender and the sauce was bursting with flavor. The staff were welcoming, warm and friendly and happy to offer suggestions and answer questions. The service was a little slow but the restaurant is new and I am sure it will improve over time. Overall it exceeded my expectations. I will definitely go back and I am excited that they have a to-go menu as well. read more

Reason for poor review: Under-staffed Un-responsive Before sitting outside, we asked if the heat lamp could be turned on --two staff members said yes. After sitting down, we asked twice to have the heat lamp turned on and each time the staff indicated someone was coming to turn it on. An hour later, still no heat. We were freezing. Also, we waited over an hour for main meal. No one checked on us in that hour. Finally, we sent someone in to say we were leaving and then someone came out to turn on the heat. read more

Excellent Food! The ambiance and location are really good. to me this is the best restaurant in Marin County. I accidentally discovered this place and I'm glad I did! I was on my way back home from SFO and wanted to have Indian food. The closest according to Yelp was Prabh. Initially I was skeptical as it had very few reviews at that time, but, to my surprise the food was very tasty! The staff was courteous and very patient with my long order :) I wasn't sure whether the food tasted so good because I was famished or if it was really good. I went back after a few weeks, and it was the same great taste! You could probably tell I'm a complete fan of this place. The food is delicious and they'll accommodate different people's preference for the level of spiciness. The portions are generous allowing for sharing and leftovers for the following day. I've driven by this location for years. I finally had the time and the inviting patio called me over. The day was mild, and the fountain was flowing. I had a nice time on the patio, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. But, I tell you the food is so-so. I'm kind of amazed as I've never had so-so Indian food. It's always been great. My main chicken dish was swimming in oil. It was good but missed the mark. Basic Saag Paneer was just OK and the naan was just ok. I probably won't choose this location again unless friends want to go. All-in-all, it was a disappointment. I'm sad to give this location 2-stars but it really wasn't the best. My Yelp-friends have given this restaurant great reviews and I wonder, was it lunch that was poor or are they having an off day? read more

I got delivery from this restaurant via Caviar. The food was mediocre and overpriced. The chicken tikka masala had a bland almost unflavored tomato sauce taste and was a very small portion size, with five bite sized pieces of chicken for $15. A few random peas were mixed in to the sauce. Naan was not great. The rice had a bunch of black cloves still mixed in that I would occasionally bite in to by surprise and render my entire mouthful of food to taste like licorice. This is coming from someone that eats Indian food about once a week. I ate at this restaurant years ago and remember it to be pretty good. But this time around I was disappointed both by the poor food quality and the small portion sizes for a delivery customer. Caviar delivery person was great, though. read more

I associate Prabh Indian kitchen with well deserved food after a hike in Mt Tam (or the million other gorgeous hikes that this part of the state has to offer). I've almost always come here after a hike, famished and well deserving of carbs :D Prabh is in a great (ahem fancy) Mill Valley neighborhood (oh those redwoods). I can't quite place what I like about the ambience; maybe that it kind of fits in this neighborhood! The food at Prabh is fantastic. Their biryani, their vegetarian starter plate, their curries (every one of them I have tried) and their kulfi is all very very nice! It is easy to get parking in this area with lots of metered parking spots around the restaurant. It was cold's winter's day when we decided to take on the mountains of the bay area. It probably wasn't the best idea to go chasing water falls in the middle of winter but the trails were less crowded, the grass was greener, and it was a nice change of pace from the city life. When we got off the mountain and through with our hike, we were cold and hungry so we Yelped to see what's good in the near by towns. Lo and behold we found this place, serving up a hot meal with a pack of flavor to warm us up! We got our meal family style and shared the dishes. We each picked one and funny enough had a nice scale from mild to extra spicy on the table. I got the jalfreazy (sp) it was on the spicy side just the way I like it. Then again to be honest, I ordered it because I wanted to try something new, and the name caught my attention. We warmed up as the food filled our bellies and laughed at ourselves as we recalled the days adventure. Stop by next time you are in town. read more
