Great food lots of options and even better service !!! Love it I will definitely be back

We stumbled upon Prabh Indian Kitchen in downtown Mill Valley while looking for an affordable family dinner. We ordered an appetizer, three entrees, two breads, and two rices for our group of five. The food was undeniably great, and the service was perfectly fine, but we were highly disappointed by the portion sizes. The curries were served in tiny bowls, making it tough to feed the family for the $20+ per entree price tag. The flavors are there, but the portions need to be noticeably increased to make the value reasonable. read more

I was in Mill Vally area and was craving for Tandoori chicken so decided to try Prabh. Tandoori chicken: Yummy !! I highly recommend this dish. Very flavourful. Comes on sizzling plate which gives amazing Smokey flavour. Side green chutney is great and compliments very well. I also got yellow Daal. This was simple daal with some spicy tadka. I loved it. It was definitely spicy. We also got assorted naan basket in which we loved onion kulcha and garlic naan. We decided to get simple chicken curry. It was ok. It's funny how other yelpers are finding food too spicy, as an Indian I thought it's less spicy . Ambience and service were nice too. Overall good place !! read more

Delish and crispy Lamb boti kebab masala: sauce spot on, lamb was not tender but flavors were there Tandoori chicken: yea from every bite! Tough call between a 3 and a 4 star review, deciding on 3 due to the spice level of the food. Service was good, we had a to go order placed and food was ready on time. Restaurant was fairly empty when we went but they had nice indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered two dishes mild, specifically "not spicy" and unfortunately they were on the edge of hot, definitely a spicy medium heat that we did not enjoy. Had we ordered spice and not been able to handle it that would have been on us, but would not expect that hot of a level for a non spicy request. I ordered onion kulcha, basil garlic naan, plain parantha, and gobi manchurian. * Onion Kulcha - easily the best item. Soft, flavorful, and really well made. * Basil Garlic Naan - good balance of flavor, enjoyable. * Plain Parantha - just okay, a bit on the dry side. Last time we ordered dal makhani, and it wasn't what you expect from a restaurant-style dal makhani. We actually had to add tadka at home just to make it edible. Still, we decided to give the restaurant another try with a different item from the menu. Unfortunately, the gobi manchurian turned out even worse than the dal. At least the dal was still edible, but with the gobi manchurian, I don't know what went wrong. Maybe it was too much soy sauce, vinegar, or just too many sauces altogether--but the only thing we could taste was a harsh tanginess, blackish color, and the coating was too thick. I'm sorry to say, but it's something you could make better at home. There was no real flavor of gobi at all, just an overpowering sauce and thick coating. It was really disappointing because we hoped for a better experience this time, but sadly, it fell short again. read more

Honestly, a little disappointed by the food here. Maybe it's a different style of Indian cuisine I wasn't super familiar with or maybe it was because I got it takeout but I just prefer other Indian restaurants more I think. Prabh Indian Kitchen - One of the better restaurants in all of Marin to delight in. The Dosas- I had the marsala one!- are really amazing here- and they are hard to come by. (Dosas are a fluffy crepe filled with something yummy) Fresh herbs ground and fresh coconut sauce too! and Everything is really fresh, has a wide dimensionality- very flavorful and lovingly made. This place is absolutely ripping people with their portions and prices. Ordered once and last time. We paid $19 for something that wasn't even full portion. Besides both nan bread and cauliflower did not have much taste. People who claim this place is good no nothing about real good Indian food. Super fast service, lovely ambiance with a friendly staff and beautiful space. I always feel welcomed here! The food is fabulous. We are all spice wimps and are glad we can get everything non-spicy. Our favorite is the butter chicken which we always get with rice and garlic naan, and then pick a new dish or two to try. I'm working my way through the vegetable dishes and so far there isn't anything I haven't liked. The veggies taste fresh and are perky rather than mushy, which I love. The staff is super attentive and obviously want you to have a good experience. I'm kind of shy to speak up and it's nice that they seem to read my mind! read more

When you walk in the door, the wonderful aroma is a promise that the food keeps. The service is very good and the food even better. The chai is delicious. The fish pakora very tasty, and the sauces that go with it are so good. We shared a Dahl soup that was delicious. I had lamb tikka masala-best tikka sauce ever-everyone had some. The garlic naan was crispy and delicious. My family had lamb Lorna, lamb saag, tandoori chicken-all delicious, but a bit too spicy for me. I'm still fairly new to Indian cuisine and haven't yet strayed away from the basics of butter chicken, chicken tikka, and naan. Comparing the food I've had here from a few other places, I'd say this place was the most unique. For one, the butter chicken was a lot more thick and sweet than any other butter chicken I've tasted. There was almost a pumpkin-y taste that I wasn't particularly fond of. Also, the server told us that the spicy level for the butter chicken would be too spicy for us, so we ordered medium and were left with basically no spice at all. The portion was quite small but they were generous with the chicken itself. As for the chicken tikka kebab, I'd say it was lacking some flavor and was a bit inconsistent from piece to piece. Some pieces were over cooked and slightly dry while other pieces were cooked perfectly. The naan was pretty good. Crispy on the outside which I've never had. For the high prices, average portion sizes, and okay flavors, this spot is definitely not on the top of my list. Service was decent, a bit slow but nothing particularly bad. We always walked by this place and wondered if they were good. They are. They have a really nice, homelike setting, very friendly and polite staff, and the food was one of the best Indian I have had in a while. I'm feeling a little under the weather and knew just the thing to perk me up. I've wanted to try Prabh Indian Kitchen's lunch menu for a while and I love a good dosa. I put in an Uber Eats order and patiently waited for my goodies. I've ordered pickup before and it was pretty good. This order was packaged with care. No spillage over here. As I unraveled my precious goodies, I noticed things seemed off. Egg masala dosa ($14) had a potato filling but on the side since I got delivery. If the egg was there, it sure was hiding. The dosa was not crisp, but that's what I get for getting it delivered. The side of soup and yogurt was on the small side. The dosa was small too. Veggie lunch box ($13) was mostly rice and a blend of two veggie curries with a side of naan. Again, it was underwhelming. I ordered it spicy and even that was lacking. Overall, this was a $30-something dollar lunch that was not great. Maybe they had some issues today? Eating my meal was so awkward. We were the only people in the restaurant, I'm assuming it has a lot of take out orders. I checked in on Yelp and had a 10% coupon for 1 appetizer. I showed the server and let her know id like to use it. She said they do not do that anymore and to just ignore the app. Which was disappointing but the deal is not the reason I came here. She then seemed to not want to talk to me anymore, and took the order from my boyfriend and was a bit rude to me when I then included my order for my own food. After she took our order we never saw her again. A different server took us over and brought us our food and check. The food was good, the flavors were all there. But it's hard to ignore the awkward service and the fact that they did not honor their own deal. read more

This review is in regards to the price and value personally not being justifiable to me. The portion to price ratio was off, even as someone who was eating alone. The naan was $5 for 4 small pieces (3pc in pic because I ate 1), the same for their parantha (full portion in the pic). Flavor overall was decent. Charming family owned and operated Indian Restaurant in Mill Valley. My fiancé and I were craving Indian food while on staycation in the North Bay. I saw the pretty flower garlands outside Prabh and knew we had to eat there. As soon as you walk in you are promptly greeted and given a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. While I wanted to sit outside with the garlands, it was a bit too hot and I knew air conditioning took priority over aesthetic. We were handed menus and they had the usual Indian fare such as Chicken Makhani which is what my fiancé ordered with mild spice. I wanted to take advantage of their extensive menu choices so I choose the Saag Paneer with medium spice. Note the medium spice was definitely closer to hot so if you're not into spice be sure to get mild. I like spicy but I was definitely sweating with the medium spice! Haha Along with our entrees we ordered a side of rice and garlic naan. Everything tasted delightful and service was great. I would definitely come back to try out other items on the menu except next time I'll have to order it on the mild side. The food here was very average. It didn't taste authentic and had weird sweet / pumpkin undertones that I wasn't familiar with. I don't know if it's because I'm used to eating Bay Area Indian food which is rich in flavor and spices, but this just tasted off and bland. It seemed to accommodate for the demographic of the area so if you're craving authentic Indian food with flavor, go somewhere else. Also, it was pretty expensive considering the portions... just look at the butter chicken! I've had miso soups bigger than that. read more

We have eaten at Prabh many times and overall food is good. We were there last night, a group of 6. When receiving the bill, we noticed that they added 20% service charge (no problem, this is fairly normal for larger groups) That said, after providing the credit card, they added a tip line proposing 15-25% tip (no mention that service has already been charged). I wonder how often they get people to pay twice for service because they are not checking the bill. Anyway, not cool! read more

Food was good. We went to this restaurant after 3pm due to which we dint get any of the South Indian items on menu like dosa etc. lentil soup was really good. Its simple non spicy and very comforting soup. Lamb boti kabab was amazing, it tasted fresh and flavour full. Portion size was really good. Panner tikka tandoori starter i would say was above average tasting. It would be nice if it had more spices added. Curries were all good, as expected. Everything seemed fresh. Breads were soft and of good size. Kulfi was amazing, one should definitely try this. It has rich flavors of cardamom, pista and milk. I went to this restaurant over two years ago and it still has stuck with me because of the amazing service my friend and i received. We had ordered naan bread that came out slightly burnt. We were ok eating it but when our server saw it he immediately apologized and got us an extra order. Our server was a gracious host throughout our meal. We decided to try a new Indian place instead of sticking with our tried & true usual spot and we regret it. The reviews and website menu looked promising, but we simply ended up disappointed. We ordered vegetable samosa, matar paneer, vegetable tikka masala, garlic & basil naan, and basmati rice. The appetizer only consisted of 2 samosas, both of which were overly salty and were mediocre in flavor. Matar paneer wasn't bad, but I could count the pieces of cheese on one hand... Tikka masala also wasn't bad, but the veggies were minimal. The taste on both of these were decent, just didn't knock my socks off. The garlic & basil naan was so dinky and chewy, it barely had any garlic flavor. The basmati rice was plain whereas we're used to flavored rice. The portion was also dismal compared to what we have been accustomed to. Overall, this place was overpriced and overrated based on the reviews. Disappointing for a weekend dinner, but it's important to try new places so that you know which ones to avoid returning to. Thanks for the lesson Prabh! read more
