WE started our search for a diesel RV at a dealership. We are looking for used diesel. That dealership showed us two pieces of junk. I was surprised they would even show them. W drove on up the road 50-60 miles and stopped at PPL. WE met Brandon, He was very forth coming about the vehicles. WE found one we liked and made an offer. we Accepted the counter offer. A waste of time and money. They accepted our offer but would not work with the company we were already financed with. They charged us for a propane drop test and just waited hoping we would finance with them. No refund or valid explanation. You guys really need to change your policies. You lost a full price offer with your bogus inspection fees and predatory tactics. How many people fall for paying inspection fees just to see if the vehicle works? We consigned our RV to PPL Motorhomes in Summerfield, Florida after having our own inspection done and checking everything else to make sure we were good. Within days PPL Motorhomes contacted us saying we needed over $4,600 in repairs! We couldn't believe it and still don't. After sitting on their lot for 5 months we took the RV back to find problems that had not existed before we took it in. Refrigerator was broken, premium batteries ruined, and they lied to us about tires needing to be replaced by them when we brought it in. We found that they had made interviews in June of 2023 with the "RV Wingman", Alan Warren on YouTube, that the 10% fee they charge is not enough to keep their business going and that they need to sell repairs and services to stay in business. They say that are not responsible for the damage to our RV. (We' don't believe them and feel you shouldn't either!) read more

Was quoted 5 hours of work at $200 or $1000. 00 to adjust 1 slide cable. Keystone rv said it should take no more than 2 hours tops. Upon watching YouTube videos 2 hours is way more than enough time to do it.. when I asked Jake the tech about 5 hours he said I was taking money out of his kids and family's mouth, his wife Nikki the service manager was present. So I took it elsewhere and was charge 2 hours to repair the cable. When I talked to James the general manager he said he would look into it , it's been 2 weeks now and no response. I'm a regular customer at ppl. And this smells fishy.. I wonder how many other customers have been overcharged by then.. they charge $200 an hour.i called corporate and tried to talk to joy, but she never returned my calls , so here i am... I flew from Oregon to buy a Winnebago sprinter van from their Summerfield location. Error messages on the dash were not disclosed and it caused me some real headaches on my trip. The cabin heater didn't work, the Truma system didn't work (propane control system) nor did the active cruise control work. The inspection that I paid for should have revealed many of these issues to me. I was charged for inspection, cleaning and a walk-though by Visa prior to arriving. Then I was charged again for Predelivery service fee, VIP walk through, and cleaning fee AGAIN on the contract. I carefully discussed this with Connor for 20 minutes on the phone and he refused to drop the second charge. After spending 94,500 for this unit I was taken back how this dealership makes money this way. read more

My experience was generally positive. Unfortunately, the RV I had my eye on was in too rough of shape for me to be comfortable with. But Marc took me around the lot to find one that fit my fairly specific criteria. I might've worn him out in the Florida sun, and didn't end up buying anything. BUT, he played zero tricks, demonstrated his expertise, was honest and direct to work with. These are qualities that you don't get from every dealer or salesperson. My limited experience with Taylor on the sales management team was very similar--he is straightforward and honest. They lose 1 star because there were concerns we could've addressed with a more detailed video walkaround. But at the same time, Marc offered to show me whatever I asked for, so I take some of the responsibility for not being more thorough before I drove hundreds of miles to see for myself. All said, the staff's attitude and expertise made me feel good about driving from Virginia to consider their inventory. If they had the RV I wanted, I would not hesitate to go back there. read more

If you need to sell your RV DO NOT go here. Absolutely horrible. My mother in law took her trailer here in 2021 and it has sat since. She paid over $4000 in repairs and they only completed half of them. PPL took over ownership in the Summer of 2022. Her trailer just sat on the lot. No calls no updates nothing. They even took her travel trailer and lost it. I had to fly down there to see what the heck was going on. James the general manager assured me everything was going to be taken care of and how the repairs would be made. What was even funnier is he said he would be in contact with her every 2 weeks on the sale of her rv. This was in March. It's now June and not one peep. Their website was never updated on her trailer something that James again assured me that would happen. This place is such a joke. She went and pulled her trailer out to have it sold somewhere else and the repairs that James said were actually complete were still not even done!! I don't even know where to start with this place. Horrible. We bought a 2019 DRV full house. This was not a cheap purchase. We stated that we were very worried about buying a unit with water damage as we had a previous one with that issue. They talked us into their inspection which we also stated concerns with because it was their company doing the inspection. We should have been smarter and went with our own inspector because they came back with a few minor things. We were told by the sales manager that if the tires were more than 5 years old they had to replace them. They are 7 years old, but the service manager said oh well no, that's not the case. They aren't worn so we dont have to change them. Then we were told there was a hydraulic leak, but they couldnt find it again after the first leak. We got home, opened the slide and it leaked all the fluid out of the hydraulic on the ground so we immediately called and they told is to turn it into our warranty we bought. That evening we had a massive rain storm and water poured into our living room area by the slide and seaped through our bedroom slide roof so we had to close the slide so more damage didnt occur. We called them the next day when they opened and they told me to bring it to them. We live 2 hours away so we finally agreed that one of their service guys who lived closer to me would come look at it. He did, but couldnt find the issue and the next day was his last day. Shocker! So I called back and the service manager and a technician came and sealed some areas they thought would be the issue. Next rain storm and surprise! Still leaked! So I called back and by the way every time I called no one was available or around and I had to leave a message. No return calls! I just continued until I drove them nuts. Finally the service manager calls me and lies about why he hadnt called. I called him out on that. The whole entire manager of the place is named James and he is a complete joke. He passes it on to everyone else. Pretends he doesnt know who you are and acts like you caused the issues and they didnt see them when the unit was sitting on their lot for months waiting to be sold. Of course not when everything is closed and dark. So they agree they will come back and check it again. They do, but they do ansolutely no water testing. They just walk around the roof and tell me nothing is wrong. I call my repair guy and he finds the issues within 20 minutes. You can literally stick your hand right through the roof of our slide. I call PPL and it takes multiple calls, but they agree that they will repair the slide and fix the living room slide. I set up the time and the week before i call to make sure we are all set and the service guy no longer works there and James the overall manager says he doesnt know who I am. I know this is a lie because of the multiple messages I left him since our purchase, as well as my husband's. Anyhow he agrees that they will fix it since thats what we were told. So we drive it the 2 hours up and leave it while we are gone on a cruise and we will pick it up when we get back. This is a 8 day total. We get an email half way through telling us they arent fixing it because we bought a consigned unit and thats not how they do things. So our unit sat there for 8 days with nothing done. I emailed them back asking things and no return email. Complete loss of communication. We drove a total of 8 hours to and from to do this with nothing done. We have picked up our unit now because at this point I see zero things getting done and in all honesty do we really want them fixing it? They clearly have no clue how to find issues let alone resolve them. ​Save yourself time and money and DO NOT GO HERE! By the way we are self employed with 3 of our own businesses and we would never treat people like this. These people say over and over again before the sale how this place is different and like family and they will take care of you. Unfortunately my friends have had nothing but trouble with this business. They recently had a replacement unit delivered and setup. After he left two us us attempted to up the screen door into the slide but we realized one roller on the screen was pushed inside the door . It was unusable. The same man that setup the trailer came back out to fix the screen door but as we found out it would not work properly. Unfortunately this same man was so unprofessional he called us all idiots. I am 66 years old and have installed many screen doors in my life. For us to be called idiots is inexcusable. My husband and I purchased a 2008 Montana 5th wheel from the RV Swap Shop. It was a consignment sale. The salesman misled us about repairing problems at no cost. This was untrue. There were problems with the refrigerator, a broken microwave, the slide mechanism and a few other minor things. When we asked the service department manager, Honey, she informed us that these things were not covered. We had already put $2000 down for the inspection. Needless to say, we were very angry at being misled. Honey talked to the owner, Mr. Ivan, who was awesome! Since his salesman misled us, he stood good for all the repairs. We couldn't be happier! We worked with PPL in Summerfield Fl in October 2023. They sold us a motor home that we loved and knew the rv resort we intended park it at, they told us they had a service contract there and knew the resort very well. They bragged how they rushed the paperwork through so we could bring the motor home to the resort before the office closed at 5pm. Proudly driving our 2007 motor home into the resort, our dreams were crushed when the resort said it was too old to be used there and that PPL were aware of their rules. We rushed back to PPL and they said they thought the resort would look at it and let it in. They also wouldn't cancel the sale and knew the entire time we wouldn't be able to use it for our intended purpose. We will never do business with any PPL Dealership again. read more

I purchased a 2022 travel trailer from PPL Motorhomes in Summerfield, FL. Spoke the the salesman, discussed trim pieces that needed to be repaired in order to purchase the RV. We agreed it was simple and only a couple of trim pieces, made the deal and continued with their process. Paid for a 19 point RV inspection and at no point did we get said inspection paperwork. The day of closing, service manager went over the RV with us and I pointed out that the trim had not been fixed. He said he would look into and they took us to the closing table. We signed docs and went back to hook up the RV. Again, I asked if they trim pieces were fixed or a date to bring it back to the dealership. The sales manager told me mind you after the closing that the salesman had no authority to make those decisions and they would not be fixing the trim. I explained that I had not taken possession of the Rv and that I would leave it sitting right where it was. The GM was contacted, took a look and agreed they would fix the trim. I've called multiple times and spoke to the sales manager and they continue to say they are looking into it. It's been over a month with no return calls from the dealership to honor their deal. Also, after re took the RV out for the first trip, we found water leaking from the shower. After inspection, the shower drain was not even connected to the trap. So much for the Rv inspection we paid for. I'd recommend all buyers beware, they seem nice but do not honor what they say. Drove 3 hrs south to get to them and check out the selection. Put $ down on a vibe. On pick up day they wanted me to bring more money. They paid taxes for fl but wanted taxes for south Carolina also, where we were registering it. I was not happy and it became a screaming match between me, the owner Ivan, and the man who made the boo boo. There was no more to argue about when the owner told me he would take my deposit if I tried to walk. So I bent over and took it. Supposed to be our dream day! Our first rv! All but ruined. We were exhausted, irritated, belittled, and forced into a situation we couldn't get out of without loosing all the money we put down (which we were told was refundable until we signed the dotted line)...... fast forward 2 weeks. Frig never worked from day 1.... waiting on them to send a new frig was time consuming in the fl heat... Owner calls and tells us to bring our rv back.... yes.... the rv we were forced into, that we moved in with our family. I was devastated. Tears and all. Apparently there was a bankruptcy lean on it from the previous owner so he couldn't sell it. But he already did sell it! To me! The 1 other bunkhouse model he had was a step up but was missing a few big things we did get with the first rv, a big frig and 2nd ac. Drove back down to meet the owner, very kind, very helpful... this time... he agreed to install a new frig and extra ac! I was extactic! Ivan came through for me.... and probably for himself too. Idk the legal stipulations that went on with our first deal but my life was indeed flipped upside down. Went home and the 1st rv bathroom floor cracked!!! Big dip! I was so incredibly grateful to get away from it. We were just waiting on the 2nd rv's roof to be replaced and was told it would have a 10 year warranty. Picked it up.... fell in love all over again. Life's been great for a year now! I'm so happy. I did see some of the rubber coating peeling on the roof which is to be expected within a year.... I think anyways... the swap shop won't let me send pictures to anyone in service bc they said the new roof they installed came with ZERO warranty. Only material warranty if anything. We were told 10 year warranty by the service manager, salesman, and the owner when we went to meet him about doing the switch to rv #2. The service manager is no longer with the company. I call everyday for more information from patty who has been there 2 weeks and can only relay what others are telling her. But I'm told everyday they will look into it and call me back.... never get a call back. I'm being told they can't find this or that. Stumbling over information, very careful to not say too much or be definitive in any way. I'm currently waiting on the owner to call me back by tomorrow and I can put money on the fact that this call will never happen. All I can be sure of is that I bought an extra warranty for all electrical items and THANK MY LUCKY STARS ITS NOT WITH SWAPSHOP! they get 1 star for Ivan making my move into rv #2 a dream. But minus 4 for, misinformation, asking for more money after holding my refundable deposit ransom, not standing by their work, and not calling people back... EVER. RV Swap Shop replaced our heavy-duty 5th-wheel brakes with standard-duty brakes, charged us $1500, then refused to take care of a failed brake backing plate/magnet 45 days later. No response to a written complaint, and we were told via phone "to keep costs down, only a 30-day warranty is given". Too bad they didn't tell us that beforehand, or we would have gone elsewhere. This was my 3rd visit to RV Swap Shop. 1st was a few years ago, with my 2005 Winnebago Journey, which had a cracked shower skylight. Evan (the Service Manager) was courteous and very fair in replacing the item. Recently, I took my new 2019 FR3 RV in for a oil, filter and lube job. Again it was very reasonable, (about $120 less than other shops). After getting a new 2020 Chevy Equinox, since it is flat tow-able, I took it over for a complete towing package. In calling around, I found that their price and schedule for my preference (Blue-Ox Baseplate, Stay 'N' Play Braking unit and Tow light wiring) was $300-580 less than 2 other quotes and their scheduling of getting it in within 2 weeks, (especially during this busy time) was very good. I cannot be more impressed with the courtesy of all staff members at RV Swap Shop. I co-ordinated with "Honey" in the Service and Parts shop to set things up and reviewed the job with Evan the Service Manager. Wade in Service, pulled it all together, with an excellent job of installing everything. The workmanship was amazing, very professional and neat. Wires from the back lights, were run inside, instead of under the chassis, the baseplate alignment and minimal trimming to the fascia was very good. They really did a great job on the Stay 'N' Play Braking unit, with a very neat wiring job, using heat shrink connectors and dielectric grease for trouble free electrical connections and the actual brake piston, well out of the way of normal brake use. They also bookmarked and marked up the owners manual for proper operation and preparation for towing. I am very pleased with the installation, the courteous and knowledgeable work of the service personnel and overall the way I was treated by the staff of RV Swap Shop. read more

If you like paying too much for an RV priced well over NADA values due to an inflated market analysis conducted by the staff, or maybe you are looking to lose a big chunk of your profit on a consignment. Owner will make a killing on your consignment then list it well above book and not accept anything less than a 5k profit in his pocket no matter how bad you need to sell it. And if you have a trade, expect a 60% trade in value, if you are lucky and he's in a good mood that is. If this sounds good, well than this is the place for you! Here's a tip though if you do plan on visiting the RV Swapshop: Make sure you are nice and limber when you go there so you don't cramp up when you get bent over. read more

I first of all would like to say that Felicia, who dealt with my sale, was very nice. However the camper itself I purchased has some huge problems that I was not informed of before buying, basic things that should have been checked out, and when I called them to notify them, the treatment I got in response was disgusting. The camper I bought was listed on craig'slist for a certain amount and upon purchasing it I found that they wanted to charge over $1,000 in extra fees on top of that. I let it go, even though it was too much money. When I settled in, there were some minor issues -- the front door doesn't close unless you really yank on it, the microwave broke after the first day of use, the CD player never worked, the A/C skips and stutters -- but the bigger problems were with the plumbing. The bathtub leaked all over the floor the moment I put water in it and even though I fixed that myself it was bad form to let me go without telling me. Then the toilet, which has been my biggest problem. The black tank was not cleaned out when I purchased the camper and it immediately clogged, backing sewage up all over my floor. When I called to inform them of this and let them know how unhappy I was, the person in charge of inspecting and cleaning the campers had the nerve to get angry with me, ask why I hadn't called sooner, and told me the blockage must me entirely my fault because he had cleaned out the tank. Being one person living alone and not having had the camper even a week, there was no chance I had done that much damage. He was rude, interrupted me every time I tried to talk, and completely denied any responsibility. The owner called me after this and, even if he tried to sound more friendly about it, still tried to say that the issue was my own fault and that even if it wasn't, oh well, these are used campers. The fact that the campers are used was brought up several times as an excuse for taking no responsibility for things being broken, but as a shop that sells these, they are expected to be legitimate and to charge what they're worth, not to mention alerting the customers to problems they haven't fixed themselves. He offered to fix it if I would tow my camper, my house essentially, over 100 miles back the shop, but it was too much trouble and frankly I did not want to deal with his people again. I've had plumbers working to clear the blockage in my tank for days now and even they were shocked at how much buildup there was. A very bad experience, I did not get what I paid for, I was treated rudely on top of it, and the problems just keep piling up. read more

I had the Swap Shop install a Blue Ox towing system from my 2021 Entegra Odyssey to my 2017 Chevy Equinox. NIGHTMARE - Multiple issues: drains Equinox battery, accumulates mileage on Equinox, connecting bar unlocks, electrical connector fully corroded within two months... After my fifth trip (1 hr and 20 minutes round trip) for repair, it is still not fixed and they refuse to replace it (although it must be warranteed within three months of installation). I called prior to arriving so that the tech could give me a "debriefing". Once I got there, none was available. So, I decided to take the vehicle home. Uh Oh! Dead battery. Waiting for a miracle (and a call from the owner) - very, very disappointed. read more

IF POSSIBLE, I'D LEAVE A 0 STAR REVIEW. Had the worst experience of my life dealing with this company!! As a Real Estate Agent that works with a lot of different customers--in my profession, my customers are my priority. If you ever take your RV to PPL Motor Home (Formerly RV Swapshop) and leave it there for them to sell it for you under the consignment agreement, just be aware they will most likely reel you in by telling you a higher price that they could sell your RV for. Then, catch you off guard with a large variety of service fees. That's exactly what they did to me! By the time they sold my RV, I owed them so much money in repairs--but it all started by them saying the RV was worth a higher amount. First thing they said that I had to do was get new tires because it was their policy that the tires needed to be 5 years or newer. The service rep also recommended a seal treatment on the roof for any water leakage. I agreed and that total was $3600.00, but at the end of the transaction I ended up paying over $6300.00 in repairs. They pressured me into these repairs, saying that they had a buyer and in order for the RV to sell-- I was responsible for these repairs. The problem is: the sale fell through but they never communicated anything to me about it. Never received a phone call from any Sales Rep or anyone from their sales department in regards to the deal that fell apart which makes me question if this was a legitimate buyer or if that's how they scheme people into paying more money in repair fees. Make sure if you ever take your RV over there that you do any repairs needed before you go! Don't let them fool you because at the end of the transaction you're gonna be paying more money in their service department then you're going to be even pay in Commission for them selling your RV. That's exactly what happened to me! I tried to contact the General Manager, service people, salespeople, anyone... but nobody would listen to me. It's like they have a game plan: they treat you so nice when you arrive, they make you feel that your RV is worth A LOT of money, even more than what you might think, but the whole idea is "your unit needs this and that, but don't worry about paying us because it will be deducted from your final proceeds when we sell." But honestly, that can add on and some people might have to walk away from their RV just because they can't afford the repair costs. If they want to take it after their 90 day contract ends it will be too expensive. There's not much I can do about my situation but at least I feel good that by leaving this review somebody can avoid my situation altogether. read more

We bought our used coach from this business and are very happy. Very communicative before and after the sale which is something that was very important as we are 1200 miles away. The whole staff was so helpful throughout even after the coach was paid for. When we went to pick up our coach, there were some little things that needed repair but their service department was right on it fixing them free of charge. The owner told us he wanted to make sure the coach was fully functional before we left which it was. Do not hesitate to do business here. read more

We bought travel trailer and paid $420 for a 120 point inspection. We picked up the trailer and they said there were just a few minor issues. We brought it home and the ac wasn't working, we had also bought an extended warranty, we took it back there and they said they would put in a a new one and we would have to pay $600 because the warranty department said it was our fault for taking it, the day we picked it up was 95 degrees and the door was open. Yes it was our fault for trusting this company. We paid cash for this and had no leverage. They wrote off the $600 and the very rude service gal said they would eat it! We asked for the inspection sheet and she said she couldn't find it and would email it to us. They took 3 weeks to fix it and when we picked it up the battery was dead. We finally got home and the next day received the report, big surprise the battery was bad and so was the ac! Do not use this company. We are now on our first trip with a bucket under the ac. Less than honest. Very unimpressed by their deceptive practices. I had spoken to them several times by phone and, believing what they told me, drove 2 hrs to make a deal, but upon arrival was confronted by a salesman that did not know how to smile, offered me a terrible deal unlike anything l was previously told, tens of thousands dollars in difference. Do not appreciate them trying to take advantage of a single elderly woman. I do not recommended them. read more

We are a certified level 2 inspector by the National RV Inspectors Association (NRVIA) and were hired by a buyer to inspect a motorhome at RV Swap Shop. I want to give a shout out to the staff at RV Swap Shop as they had us all set-up when we arrived to perform the inspection. Many times when we arrive at a RV dealership, we have to wait to start our inspection because the RV wasn't staged with full hooks. Not so at RV Swap Shop. Thanks again.
