Caution: Meet here but don't park here unless you have a watercraft trailer.
    Amber H.

My experience, some logistics, and a warning (about parking). Experience: This was my 1st time jet skiing and overall I had a blast! It was not my friend's 1st time but she had an awesome time as well. I had initially reached out on Yelp to ask some questions and Bryan was easy to communicate with and quick in response. After meeting up, Bryan was very thorough in his instructions and it was all easy to follow. He answered my questions (about worst case scenarios: jet ski flipping over, how to get back on if you fall in the water, etc) before I even needed to ask them! The jet skis we were on could reach a bit over 40 mph, but I found that my happy speed after getting used to it was around 25 mph, 30 for more thrill, and I came close to 40 a few times by accident but it was still fun! Getting my balance and steering took a little getting used to, maintaining and decreasing speed were my problems. Not hard at all to learn, just needed getting used to! Logistics: We met at South Shore Launch Ramp. The jet skis were brought in by trailer, they're not already there at a dock. Bryan went over safety, rules, and how to operate the jet skis. My friend and I got our life jackets, then got on the skis, and off we went! Took us about 7-10 min to get through the 5mph zone one-way, so keep that in mind. Warning: So, the only con of the whole experience is that I ended up getting a parking citation. You meet up at South Shore Launch Ramp but you're not actually allowed to park there unless you have a watercraft trailer. I read what it said on the sign, but misunderstood it. So we paid the daily rate of $12 only to end up with a $69 citation on top of it... and still not knowing where we CAN park. Residence Inn next door only allows hotel guests in their parking lot. There's a Hotel Maya further down and the Queen Mary at the end, but I have no idea if you can park there or not. We even asked the officer who cited us where we're allowed to park then, the officer got defensive at first saying she was just doing her job until my friend calmed her down and said that we just wanted to know where we're allowed to park. The officer didn't know either. So! If anyone figures out the parking situation, please inform the rest of us. Otherwise, it seems like the only solution is to be a hotel guest or be prepared to pay a citation fee... Other than the damper at the end with the citation, our overall experience was smooth and we had a blast! I even saw a sea lion pop it's face out briefly! No one fell in or got injured, but I'll definitely be sore from using muscles I didn't think I'd be using haha.

This was my first time jet skiing for my birthday. I was really nervous, but the owner was very patient, made me feel comfortable, and gave excellent customer service. I highly recommend booking with him. Thank you soo much for the experience!

This was a memorable experience, the booking process was very easy, and customer service was amazing. They explained to us how to operate and worst case scenarios. This is not my first time jet skiing, I was worried it might be too heavy for me to maneuver, but it was super light and easy to ride. Overall it was a great experience

My family and I were very pleased with the experience and the service that was provided. Bryan was very nice and helpful, I would definitely recommend booking with him !

PPF Jet Skis helped to make my first time in Long Beach, CA a memorable one! I had a lot of fun and I'll definitely rent from them again whenever I'm visiting this area. Thanks again!

Bryan is the type of person we need more of in this world. Very humble and respectful as well as educational and knowledgeable. Bryan and his wife were very helpful and professional with our first time jet ski experience and I couldn't have asked for better. Booking was simple easy and fast and his wife even rode around with us for a while to make sure we were good and acquainted with the jet skis and the handling of them before we took off into the harbor. Highly recommended. If anyone is in Long Beach area and in need of a jet ski rental, please book with them, you will not regret it.

The trip there takes about an hour and a half and was quite pleasant since it was an extremely hot day in LA. No wetsuit was needed, but we did take the ones they offered with in case we needed it during the trip. - this is a high impact sport. We definitely didn't realize it until we were on the water, but even though the water was relatively calm on the way there, it's a workout holding on to the jetskis as the bounce pretty hard over swells. - getting there was a workout, but getting back was HARD. Muscles were tired and bodies were sore from the way there, and getting back was windy and cold and choppy (even though it started as a very hot day in LA). If I had my way, I would do the trip on the way there and take a ferry on the way back but I doubt that's offered. - they have wetsuits which are not mandatory to use but if you don't want to use it when you leave, it is probably a good idea to take anyway and store in your jetski in case you change your mind. I do regret not putting it on for the way back as it was cold (but hot on Catalina). People have mentioned the wetsuits were gross. They seemed fine to me. - others have mentioned to bring gloves, watershoes, goggles. Those would probably all help, but I didn't have any and it didn't affect me that much. Gloves might help the chaffing between thumb and forefinger when holding the jetski which bounces up and down a lot, but I didn't find chaffing too bad. Watershoes would help chaffing on feet due to said bouncing and wearing sandals. Again, I didn't find that too bad. Goggles help if your eyes are sensitive to the salt water constantly splashing in them if it's windy. I wore sunglasses and got a lot of water in my eyes, but I guess my eyes aren't that sensitive to salt water. Overall we're glad we did it as a family as it makes for a great story but once is enough.

Let me set the stage - I love a good thrill - I've bungee jumped, white water rafted, gone scuba…read morediving...I love adventure. That said, this trip was both exhilarating and disappointing at the same time. Similarly to what I've read elsewhere, some small adjustments (like a one way jetski trip to Avalon and come back on the cruiser) may have made this a 4 star experience. My husband surprised me with this for my birthday. I'd looked into it previously and had been interested in doing it but the pricetag is substantial so I hadn't taken the leap. As such, I did not have much time to prepare for this in advance. NOTE TO MEN: DO NOT SURPRISE YOUR PARTNER WITHOUT ANY HEADS UP - NOBODY WANTS THAT UNLESS YOU HAVE THOUGHT OF AND PLANNED FOR EVERY NEED & CONCERN THAT MIGHT ARISE (you probably can't - give your boo some advance notice). This operation is super low direction and guidance. The most important things I heard were: stay between 30-35mph to glide best on water and that this would be an adventure. And an adventure it was... Arrival and check in were easy enough (I cant speak to registration and information sharing before arrival). We were given wetsuits and lifejackets and then we were all loaded up on jetskis (which is when those two nuggets of wisdom were provided). The direction from there is minimal and you really have a lot of slack to get out there and have a blast. That said, holy mother was that intense! The way there wasn't so bad. I flew off the jetski once and one of the two guys with us helped me back to my jetski. He (Zack) was definitely the more communicative of the two (the other was Jet) but it definitely felt like they were there to check off some boxes (get us there and back, take some pics, etc). I was tired and had blisters on my hands by the time we were heading back, the water was choppy - more choppy then I expected. I was so scared. It's intense and I was terrified of being flung back into the (busier) ocean. I wish that there had been some dialogue, some acknowledgment of the challenges of the journey, maybe some tips to get through it the best possible. There wasn't any of that and I spent the whole way back praying I make it home safely. That, coupled with the fact that the harbor and surrounding ocean in Long Beach is so disgustingly dirty, will make this a one and done kinda deal. The blisters on my hands were several skin layers deep and the bruising (pictured) tell the story of just how intense this really was.

Getting a refund has been difficult. I've made many attempts to get a hold of someone at the business and via email. No one picks up the phone and I've not received a reply to my email. When a company cancels a service, issuing a prompt refund should be straightforward. Unfortunately, that isn't the case here, and it's created unnecessary stress. I would recommend being cautious when booking and confirming their refund policy ahead of time. Hopefully they improve their customer service and how they handle cancellations in the future.

Renting gear from Jetski Fishing was perfect because we didn't have to haul extra stuff to/from the parking lot. Our guide was very knowledgeable about fishing locations and provided great guidance throughout the trip. We hooked some keeper sand bass within the first hour. After 15 minutes or so of inactivity, our guide had us start up the jetskis and we rode at 40 - 50 mph to our next location (you don't have to go that fast, but when in Rome...). Our group fished around a couple of spots at the second location, but the catches had to be released due to species restrictions. We then bolted to our last fishing location where I hooked on to a thresher that snapped my line. And just like that - our trip went way too fast!
