My experience, some logistics, and a warning (about parking). Experience: This was my 1st time jet skiing and overall I had a blast! It was not my friend's 1st time but she had an awesome time as well. I had initially reached out on Yelp to ask some questions and Bryan was easy to communicate with and quick in response. After meeting up, Bryan was very thorough in his instructions and it was all easy to follow. He answered my questions (about worst case scenarios: jet ski flipping over, how to get back on if you fall in the water, etc) before I even needed to ask them! The jet skis we were on could reach a bit over 40 mph, but I found that my happy speed after getting used to it was around 25 mph, 30 for more thrill, and I came close to 40 a few times by accident but it was still fun! Getting my balance and steering took a little getting used to, maintaining and decreasing speed were my problems. Not hard at all to learn, just needed getting used to! Logistics: We met at South Shore Launch Ramp. The jet skis were brought in by trailer, they're not already there at a dock. Bryan went over safety, rules, and how to operate the jet skis. My friend and I got our life jackets, then got on the skis, and off we went! Took us about 7-10 min to get through the 5mph zone one-way, so keep that in mind. Warning: So, the only con of the whole experience is that I ended up getting a parking citation. You meet up at South Shore Launch Ramp but you're not actually allowed to park there unless you have a watercraft trailer. I read what it said on the sign, but misunderstood it. So we paid the daily rate of $12 only to end up with a $69 citation on top of it... and still not knowing where we CAN park. Residence Inn next door only allows hotel guests in their parking lot. There's a Hotel Maya further down and the Queen Mary at the end, but I have no idea if you can park there or not. We even asked the officer who cited us where we're allowed to park then, the officer got defensive at first saying she was just doing her job until my friend calmed her down and said that we just wanted to know where we're allowed to park. The officer didn't know either. So! If anyone figures out the parking situation, please inform the rest of us. Otherwise, it seems like the only solution is to be a hotel guest or be prepared to pay a citation fee... Other than the damper at the end with the citation, our overall experience was smooth and we had a blast! I even saw a sea lion pop it's face out briefly! No one fell in or got injured, but I'll definitely be sore from using muscles I didn't think I'd be using haha. read more

Is it possible to give six stars? My family and I were a bit nervous especially with an 8-year old who is scared of open water. But Bryan and Nellie were absolutely amazing. "Safety first" was something we heard from Bryan a few times as he walked us through the operation of the jet skis we would be using. Nothing was left to chance. But he did it in a way that was so efficient and understandable for everyone even my young son. The equipment was in tip top shape and looked awesome. We went out for about an hour and could not have had a better time. Bryan was accessible for my phone and text questions several days before our scheduled excursion by the Queen Mary. The pricing relative to his competitors was low which made the the overall value to me as a picky consumer extremely high. Plus, I did a ton of research before I chose Bryan's outfit. To sum up my experience, I would describe Bryan and Nellie as consummate professionals with a personal and genuinely caring touch. Ideal for a family outing. Check them out. I had a great time with my friend, and although we only rented the jet skis for an hour, it was well worth it. Be sure to look for parking nearby that is available to the public, however. You cannot park at the boat launch parking lot, even if you pay the $12 fee, unless you have a boat trailer attached to the vehicle. We received a $70 citation. read more
