The Carter Christmas Tree Farm is located in the heart of the Miller Place Historic District…read more Did you know The Carter Christmas Tree Farm listed on the National-Register of Historic Places? Open Saturdays and Sundays only, from November 17th until December 22nd, this is one of our Long Island treasures. I've been using a fake tree for a few years now. I missed having the smell of a real Christmas tree in the house. It gives a special holiday vibe when I see it all decorated. Sure, you can buy a tree from a guy on the side of the road. Obviously they aren't going to hurt us or anything but I have three little kids and I don't want them decorating a tree infested with spiders. I don't know if it's this place or the area, but might be buying a fake tree this year. We put the tree in our backyard. That's where it will live. The one star is for the actual experience of going to the farm and cutting down the tree. That was the best part. Bummer
