A tree unexpectedly took down my power line on a Saturday and pulled the entire power meter and pole off my house. Since it was a weekend my usual electrician wasn't available and he recommended Volt Doctors. Their 24 hr dispatcher immediately answered and they had an electrician on site within two hours on a Saturday evening. Erik, helped get my generator running and hooked up, and an hour after that I had an estimate and repair plan in hand. On Sunday and Monday Summer was in frequent contact with updates and by Monday afternoon the repair was complete and good as new! The job came in under the projected time and under budget, so they reduced the cost to the real hours worked. I can't speak highly enough about Volt Doctors, THIS is how you run a business!

Pros: Prompt response & service Knowledgeable & highly professional Technician Reliable/flexible-Rescheduled appointment to an earlier time slot with no issues Cons: May be cost prohibitive for some In my case: 192.43 Diagnosis fee 779.38 for services rendered: Total cost was 971.81 1) Diagnose garage light fixture not working (ballast/lighting was replaced on (2) units) 2) Estimate to replace a fixture on the outside of home (lighting replaced with a flood light fixture) 3) Estimate for an future install of an outlet in the master bath. Estimate was provided and totaled 868.36 for parts/labor/inspection permit admin fee Summary: I've had other companies out and have experienced poor results. In contrast the work that was performed by the Volt Doctors Tech was done pristinely. I don't recall the Tech's name...he was a quality minded individual...& took great care in performing the work yet worked efficiently (job was completed in under a hour or so).

We…read morehave had E&W service our Generac for well over 10 years and their actual maintenance service was good but they were always trying to upsell us to a new and different generator. It was the early 2000's when ours was installed (not by them) with permit and to code and inspected. But when E&W started their maintenance agreements with us they said the codes have changed and we must upgrade. But no we did not have to. And our Generac has lasted over 20+ years. Then they said we needed a part that cost over $5000 and they would have to remove our generator, bring it to their offices and repair it and bring it back. Could not get answers to my questions because the woman who answers the phones would not let me speak to a tech even though one was standing right next to her. Just rude. Time to move on to a better firm. If I am now going to spend for a new and more powerful generator I experct to be treated with a little respect. Look at your other choices, there are good Generac dealers around - just not E&W.

However, at completion of service they charged me an extra 1.25 hours - when I asked they said it was to cover travel time from the provider's previous location to my home. I requested a refund for that amount and was told it had to go to the owner; for the past 3 weeks I have been leaving multiple messages and emails a week with no response at all. Plus, after a maintenance visit costing $1100, I was told that the coolant still needed to be changed, which would include replacing belts, sensors and thermostats. I don't trust them, feel swindled, and am very disappointed in what had been a go to company for years.

David and Ryan took this as a challenge and systematically ran it down. It was a real puzzle. In the end, it turned out to be a semi shorted receptacle- odd problem, it would create enough leakage to trip a trip a GFI when a plug inserted. It was tripping a GFI that I didn't know existed way up under a built in desk. Bizarro. Both men were extremely polite, on time and had a good sense of humor. The charge was very reasonable- a minimum house call plus the part cost. Wouldn't hesitate to use again.
