The product they are installing seems to be excellent- they are Pella windows and are double paned argon filled. The windows are impact windows not only offering safety from storms but also security and some sound deadening. The installers worked extremely well as a team and the installation of 7 windows and a sliding glass double door was completed in one day. While this product was not inexpensive, it was substantially less than a competitor offering a similar product. I would definitely use these folks again. read more

It made me give one star. THEY DO NOT DESEVE THE ONE STAR. As you will notice, the majority of the reviews are in regard to windows and siding. This company also offers Solar Panel installation. I am a realtor, I was sceptic in installing solar panels on my house, but open to discussion ONLY if the company did NOT file a second lien on my property. I scheduled 3 appointments with 3 different companies. Once a salesperson from each company came into my home, my first question was, "Do you or the lender file a second lien on the property if we choose your company to supply solar panels?" John even gave me an address of a home they just finished in my area. He told me to look up the property on the CAD and see that there are no second loans on their property. I told him to make sure what he is telling me is true, if I find out differently, I will be very upset. He assured me many times in different stories, there is absolutely no way the lender will file a second loan on my property... Awesome. After hearing this we allowed them to continue with their sales pitch. After agreeing with one of their packages, they file out the loan application on an iPad they bring, and once approved they hand you the iPad to sign the loan paper work. Then the job is scheduled..... TO PRESENT DAY. I recently needed to call the loan company to review some questions I had. At this time, I was notified that they did in fact filed a second lien on my property. With this information I was livid! After several days of going back and forth with the loan company I reached out to Power House. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You are NOT able to speak to the manager, or anyone above a "Customer Service" position.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After Many Many attempts I final settled with Simon in the Austin office. He stated that the sales team IS TRAINED to say that the lender does NOT file a second lien. When I brought this to their attention, the response was basically, "I'll talk to the manager and see what we can do..." I asked to be given the commissions that were made by the sales people that came into my house. They LIED to my face, they were TAUGHT to lie to get the deal done. As a 20-year Realtor, If I ever lied to a client just to get the deal, but I was not positive in its truth, I could possibly lose my license, have fees, lose my commission or have my license suspended. I would be beside myself if I ever placed a client in a situation like what Power House has put me in. Being put off for another week, I finally was able to visit with Simon, the conclusion, " Sorry we lied, sorry this is not what you wanted. There is nothing we can do" NO! I was not compensated for their dishonesty, there was no remorse or concern. Simon did say he hopes they change their training model...... Basically, they made a sale and could care less as to how they got it. If you choose to use Power House be VERY CAREFUL they will tell you exactly what you want to hear to make the sale. Their app provided documentation of everything about my project including the contract and before and after pictures of the windows and doors. I had a knock on the door, and someone asked if I was interested in new windows. I was intrigued, knowing that cold air was flying out my bedroom window. Within the days leading up to my appointment I drove to all 3 address and the windows looked nicely updated. What I look for the most in a remodeling company: Don't pay until the work is done. Sign me up. The crew came out a few days earlier than originally scheduled because my windows came in early. They okayed this with me first. I was too excited to pass up an earlier installation. The crew of 4 guys including Brian P were so polite, professional, and attentive to detail. They were vigilant of our pets while working and careful with our personal belongings. They didn't leave until I was completely satisfied with the work. I would point things out and they responded "Yes, ma'am we are going to...." then proceed to explain what was going to be done. Basically I was jumping the gun. We did a final walk through and they were gone with no clean-up to be done by me. Only 3 days later, does Steve D show up for the quality assurance review. I was promised that the install would be done by 3 pm (sales person/preinstall inspection person and twice on Friday. Everything was fine until the day of install, Monday 8-26-24. The install crew didn't show up in the 8-10 am window. Called Power and by the time they contacted the crew and called me back it was already 11:15. I was told the crew was just around the corner and I confirmed that the job would be done by 3 pm was confirmed: LIES. I called back at 11:40 and stayed on the phone with Power until the crew actually arrived at 12:15 p.m. The job was NOT completed as promised. The crew was only able to finish about 20 percent. I called Power again and they attempted to schedule a second appointment for a weekday. I told them that I was NOT taking another day off of work for a job the promised to be completed by 3 p.m. After another return phone call, the second appointment was scheduled for Saturday. I was very lucky that I went up into the attic Tuesday due to damage to the A/C vent pipe being totally clasped from being stepped on. Also two ductwork pipes detached from the rafters but laying 100 percent on the pipes from the A/C evaporator that go to the compressor. Another call to Power. Saturday finally arrived. The radiant barrier was installed but..... I had to tell the crew to raise the duct work in several areas and by this time I was done dealing with them and told them to leave. They also left a lot of wires on the floor of the attic. Another call to Power, the guy they sent out Tuesday/Wednesday just "tucked" the wires up with no care and didn't attached or strap them to anything. He left. I went up to the attic a couple days later to change the settings on my hot water tank and all the wires fell down on my head. Another call to Power. I was told a "Supervisor" would contact me about my issues. No contact for several days. I ended up going up to the attic securing the many wires in an appropriate manner. I was not fun spending several hours doing this. Finally on 9-12-24 I was contacted by a "supervisor" at 3:05 and he wanted to come at 4:15. He showed up on time. While he was here, he told me the reason for the crew not showing up in 8-10 am window was another client was only available in the am only. Power never called me and they just automatically assumed I would be ok with the change. NOT. This was my worst experience with any contractor, handyman, lawn guy etc. that I have ever had. read more
