Tarp flying away.
Bettina H.

We were supposed to get a window replaced months ago due to the "lifetime guarantee. They cracked the window trying to fix it and said the would have to order a replacement. That was months ago. Through the winter. We are an elderly couple. At this point the tarp the put up is failing and now need a new complete window as the water has come in. No one has called to update us. We have had to call them at least 3 times. We are told 4 more weeks through the winter. Don't use this company.

Windows

I had 7 new windows put in my kitchen. They are very thorough. One person did the initial measurements (Kirsten) who spent 2 hours going over window styles and features, another person came prior to the windows being made to measure a second time for accuracy. Alex and Yuri were the installers once the windows were made. They were very kind, efficient and cleaned up behind them. They also had tips about my new windows which also was great. Finally, Mike came by at the end of the job for QC and to make sure I knew about the lifetime warranty etc. So far, I've been very happy with my new kitchen look and will definitely use them as I upgrade other parts of my house.

The whole process to get our hurricane impact windows and gutters installed was fast, professional, and affordable. They went above and beyond in giving recommendations for other quality contractors for another home remodeling project that didn't fall under the services they sell, but they still helped us with guidance and recommendations for free. Will purchase again for future projects.

Damage from their dumpster

Work was good but the customer service is horrible! Once they got our money we couldn't get in touch with anyone. They left their stuff in our driveway a week after they were finished. Also when the dumpster was taken away they left 2 big scratches in our driveway. We have not heard from anyone after letting them know. All I get is damage control responses on my reviews VP Brantley Friend what kind of business are you running over there?

Dirty $10,000 Window

I want to let Power Home Remodeling know how dissatisfied I am with their service. PHR team is GREAT with getting the sales, making sure customers keep their appointments and the number of phone calls they make to you TO GET THE SALE. After they complete the install, they are through. What about a call to see if a customer is satisfied with their install? What about a call to see if was to their satisfaction. None of those things happen. I know PHR is big on reviews so I want to make sure that I give one on every platform. When they installed my over$20,000 windows, the windows were left dirty, chips of glass was left on the floor and the trim around my custom window made the window look like it was out of shape (and still does). I called them to express my dissatisfaction and they sent the guys out to correct everything (except my custom window), they said that was the best they could do. Well, it's my fault for using them again to install my over $20,000 doors. When the guy came by on my complaint about the windows, he saw that I express interest in doors and again that great sales pitch happened (and I loved the doors). Well, again they installed the items and you should see how they left them. Wow! I did bring it to the installer attentions about their framing being smaller than the one that was up there. He stated they didn't have anything to go around it. Wait, you have an entire remolding department, why don't you have some to fix it. You tell me, my doors are suppose to look worst than when you came? I called once again (because as mentioned before, they call to see if you are satisfied). Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me for hiring you again.

My husband and I had recently discussed replacing our upper windows and decided to move forward after Joey came to our house. Call it "right place, right time". Our questions were answered clearly and were provided with different options that worked for us. For 8 upper windows, the pricing was fair and financing was available. Although our installation window was pushed back a couple times, when the team came, they removed the old and installed the new windows efficiently. Power Home Remodeling stands by over-communicating which we appreciate; however, when we missed calls, we were redirected multiple times or voicemails were nondescript. Overall, we were satisfied with the service and will certainly be returning customers.

Power Home Remodeling came out on Friday, June 5th, 2024, to replace four (4) old windows in our home. Our installers were Mikail and Pedro and they were fantastic!! They arrived on-time to the appointment and were incredibly professional. They got right to work after the arrived and were easily able to take out and replace our own damaged windows. They were both incredibly efficient and had the project completed in 3 hours. The cleaned up their work, put in new sighting, and cleaned the windows before they left. Absolutely love the work they did and the windows look great!! Plus, both of the guys were very attractive. ;) Mike was our Quality Assurance Manager and he came out to inspect all of the work and talk with us on Monday, June 8th, 2024. Mike was also incredible friendly, professional, and helpful. I would HIGHLY recommend Power Home Remodeling if you have any home repairs or remodeling done! They offer competitive pricing, friendly and fast service, and exceptional quality.

Leaks from shoddy window installations.

Run! If you allow them to provide an estimate, they'll stay for 5 hours. Yes, FIVE HOURS. Customer service is extremely rude.

Universal Windows Direct of Atlanta - 4 lite sliding glass door in the place of 3 windows

Universal Windows Direct of Atlanta

We could not be any happier with UWD of Atlanta. We always get 3 quotes for any major renovation…read moreand their quote saved us over 10k from the next closest estimate. Charlie showed us different options of things that we could do to save money without changing the footprint. Eugeniy kept us informed on the timeline as the windows were being made and then as the installation crew were installing. The installation crew were very tidy, professional and had all 32 windows installed in 2 days. Eugeniy stopped by to inspect the work. Completely seamless for us and by far our easiest home renovation project. I highly recommend Universal Windows Direct Of Atlanta.

The sales person Charlie met with me and took the appropriate measurements, was respectful of my time, and gave us plenty of options. Their professionalism was what sold me on the company--they were not trying to upsell me, or overcharge like other companies would (one other company gave us a 3 hour sales pitch and quoted 20k for the same six windows). Universal gave us a reasonable price and didn't take up unnecessary time. Eugeniy personally ordered the windows to the custom measurements, and when they arrived he brought one to store so that it wouldn't be damaged in transit. He had recommended that we install a new window in our exit door and it was the right call--that entire area looks much improved! The installers were prompt, professional, and the end result was clean, precise, and expertly done. Eugeniy himself came to check the quality of their work and made sure it was done to his standard before receiving the final payment. It is difficult to know who to trust with these projects--if you're looking for knowledgeable professionals who will meet your budgetary and time constraints, with great communication this is the company you want to go with. We will definitely be back in the future for other windows in our home!

Atlanta Area Window & Door - gap between the sweep and the floor. this was later fixed after a second contractor intervened.

Atlanta Area Window & Door

(17 reviews)

I have used Atlanta Area Window & Door 2 times for front door installation at two different…read moreproperty locations. The first time, I'd give them a 5 star. But the second time, I'm giving them a 3 star. I don't have much to say about the first experience since I thought that they did a great job that I hired them for the second job. However, the second job was riddled with issues and heartache. I shopped for quotes from different companies and I awarded the job to Mark and his team. The reason I award the job to Mark is not due to the price but due to the thoughtful and experienced comments he made and when he addressed my questions. I thought that this guy was someone who care and was not in the job just for the money. However, Mark is not the one that actually does the door install. He had a different team install the door and that would be fine as long as there were no issues with the door install. But there were issues. The installation team are great people - someone you could grab a beer with and chat. But they lacked the problem solving and attitude of someone who owned their own business. Issue #1: After the door was installed, the door did not close well. I had to push extra hard to get the door to shut. I asked the installer if there is something he can do to fix that. He did what he can on installation day (took an entire day to install and they worked past 5pm) and had to come back on a different day. On the second day, they made some changes to the door sweep. This made the door close better. However, this created an issue with a gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. While walking outside at night, I saw streams of light shining from under the front door. This allowed insects to enter my house. I brought this to Mark's attention and asked him not to send the same crew to fix the issue because the installation guy had already told me that he did everything he can. Mark was able to ask another guy to come and fix the issue. The new guy showed up and fixed the issue within 30 mins or less. This guy owned his own door installation business and does the door install himself. During the whole ordeal, Mark showed up on day one to supervise and ensure everything was on track but he did not attempt to remedy the work himself. Issue #2: I paid the original door installers $xx (i forgot the amount) in cash to install a nest doorbell. The doorbell was installed but did not work because a transformer was required and they do not install transformers. I had to pay a separate guy to install the transformer. In hindsight, I would should have paid a separate guy to install doorbell who can also install a transformer if needed. This was probably my fault but I felt like I paid for something that didn't solve my problem. Issue #3: 1-2 months after the door was installed, i noticed that pads at the foot of the door had ripped. I asked Mark to fix and his response was that he would send some pads in the mail for me to fix myself. It's been a month and I haven't seen any pads in my mailbox. I paid almost $6K for doorframe and door (which i still have to paint myself). For this amount of money I was expecting a better streamlined, worry-free experience.

I have never had such a horrendous experience with a company EVER. Unethical, predatory employees,…read morespineless owner. I reached out to several companies back in May 2024 as I thought there was an issue that required window replacement, but it turned out I could fix it with caulk so I did not proceed with any quotes. My quote was done by Jeff. During my quote session, Jeff made several comments that I took as a misunderstanding of social cues, but I now know were not. Two months after my initial quote, I received a text message from Jeff's PERSONAL device. Prior to this, he had only communicated with me via a work device. This text from Jeff was disturbing, inappropriate, and concerning from a safety perspective. Jeff ABUSED his access to customer data to hit on a customer nearly HALF his age. I was hesitant to reach out to the company as I did not know these men (The owner, Mark, and Jeff) and feared retaliation; however, I did not want this to happen to another young woman so I left a review through the BBB. Mark reached out within a few hours expressing his apologies and disgust with Jeff's actions and assured me Jeff would be fired first thing Monday morning. I spent the weekend beefing up my home security system just in case. Come Monday, I hear nothing. Which was fine at first. Tuesday morning, I received an email stating that Jeff was not fired, that Jeff was a "good man", it would "be a loss for us to have to let him go", and asked for my forgiveness. Our definitions of what make a good man are vastly different. I also let Mark know that I would not be manipulated into offering my forgiveness for the sake of politeness or either of their consciences. After letting Mark know of my disappointment, I was told that Jeff never meant to send the text but "accidentally" pressed send while editing the text. This does not explain how Jeff got my phone number on his personal device in the first place. The argument they may use was "there was a discussion about his motorcycle while he was in your home and wanted to follow up on that conversation" but I invite whoever reads this to put themselves in my shoes. A man whom I do not know is in my home and is rambling about his hobby. He already inappropriately hugged me when he saw I owned power tools. Would you feel safe as a petite woman telling a strange man twice your age and twice your size "no, I do not care about your bike. Please leave"? I have already told all of my friends never to use this business due to the lack of ethics and a spine from the owner and its' employees. Your personal information is not protected and enlisting this business to do work to your home is only putting yourself, your wife, your daughters, and your family at risk. My intention here is not to get Jeff fired, but to notify my neighbors and fellow Cobb residents that this business is untrustworthy. His actions regarding this matter are well within his rights as owner and they show his backwards priorities, lack of character, and bad morals. But it is also within my right to protect other women and homeowners in the Cobb area from people like this.
