I would call them on a monthly basis to request a delivery (usually a week in advance) and it would usually be delivered within 3-4 days (they would give0 me a range of expected delivery). It was a fine relationship to start but it soured quickly as time went on. I would have times where they would be several business days late deliverying to the point where I would run on fumes. This happened 3-4 times. One time it ran out (due to them) and they capped my tank so noone could fill it. I was able to have another company inspect and remove. Another time on one of the coldest nights of that year, I almost ran out of propane. Called Amerigas corporate and offered to pay the expensive emergency fee for someone to come out and fill my tank as we went through more propane than normal. I found later that the driver that picked up my job ended up changing his mind and NOONE came to fill my tank. Not to mention I was charged the emergency when they came a day or so later. In most of these situations they apologized and gave me a discount off my fillings but after a while it just wasn't good enough. Once I got my furnace and water heater replace with an On Demand water heater, I ultimately decided to lock into a service contract with another local option instead of taking my chances anymore with Amerigas. If you need your gas to operate your home like I do, do not shop Amerigas. It's not worth the hassle and up/downs.
