There are many many people who sell antiques there, each one with a store / shop - their own space. We wandered down the ramp to the lower level and found John's shop... with amazing pieces of Walnut, Cherry, Hickory and other pieces of amazing wood. John cuts the wood from trees, and most pieces have the edge / bark on them (clean / safe for inside). John calls is "live wood," and e dries it in a kiln, making it sold and dry and unlikely to every warp. John also sells brackets for hanging the wooden shelves on the wall. We happened to meet Collin, who gave me a few tips... thankfully. Soon after we got some urethane and applied four coats over the following couple weeks. We also had the brackets powdercoated at Gateway Powdercoating. Gateway was a big help. We called first to understand what they do and how powder coating works - they charge the metal, which makes the paint, which has the opposite charge, stick to it. And they guided us to their location, which is just a bit west of the I-70 Bryan Road exit, on the north side of I-70. When we got there, the team helped our daughter pick the right color... given the many colors Gateway has that was no small feat. In the end she picked a dark shade of brown, which attaches to the metal with many dimples, which make for a wonderful effect. They can powder coat most any piece of metal, from car parts like exhausts, engine parts and wheels to patio furniture and more. We will definitely visit Gateway whenever we need any metal items painted... actually, better than painted - powder coated! Thank you, Gateway Powder Coating! ----- -----

*ATTENTION*WARNING* Buyers beware!!…read moreI have been in the automotive industry from the factory level to building Sema show vehicles for nearly 30yrs. I have had work done here years ago, and Scott the owner was involved and the service was great to my "SEMA" jeep build. I have relocated back to the area, and I'm being told by the Mgr Steve that Scott is pretty hands off now, but he could take care of me. I had them quote me to install a brand new Carli lift on a brand new Ram 2500. Steve quoted me $2300 and I called the manufacturer of the lift, to verify the amount they were quoting me, and they specifically told me that they do them daily at their shop, and it's should be in the range of $1200-$1600 including the alignment, but no more than that. First red flag. I then asked them if they could put new tpms sensors in a brand new set of beadlocks and tires that the tires are already mounted to the rims, and I told him that I needed them to supply the sensors as well. He then quoted me $650, in which I had scheduled a different appointment for that. I also was a supervisor in the military and a department mgr at an automotive manufacturing facility. So I know to be very specific and detailed when I'm explaining services needed. I told him that they were beadlocks, and they needed to be dismounted and sensors installed and rebalanced. He even told me that they wouldn't program the sensors until we got the lift installed. I confirmed everything with him at that time. I took the rims and tires to the shop to drop them off right when they opened. I asked him if they would unload them from the truck, he paused and looked at me as if it was my job to unload them. And said, let me see IF I can find someone to do it. He comes out to the truck and said, well I guess I'm helping YOU unload them. So I unload 2 wheels and we rolled them into the shop. There were around 6-8 guys just standing around talking, since they were just opening, and they watched US roll the tires to the back of the shop. One of the techs whispered to him something, and then Steve came to me, and said "man I didn't know we were doing beadlocks". I said yes I told you that, and not only that, you helped me unload it and wheeled it into the shop! A blind man can see that they were beadlocks, not to mention how much heavier they are compared to regular rim and tire. He then said "let me go check something". So we walked back up to the front counter, and he said "man they'll kill me if I make them do this for $650". he then told me that it would be $1200 to do the job!! I said "no way!" So I went and rolled one of the wheels out to my truck and loaded it, and he followed me out with the other one and said "sorry man". Well "SORRY MAN" doesn't fix anything. I've called 3 other performance shops in the area and they quoted me $300 to do it, minus the cost of the sensors. Scott, if you're reading this, you should really get back in there man, I had a great experience with you and that Big brake kit you did to my Rubicon, but this guy has no integrity, no ethics, and is going to ruin your company name with practices like this, because I'm here to tell you that I've read the past reviews and there are quite a few of these situations on there, and it won't take long for the word to spread. There are a lot of us who have ties to the auto, jeep, and Offroad industry and this kind of publicity will spread fast. An educated shopper will be able to research and see how this guy is inflating the prices and robbing people! I hope this reaches all the people who were shopping around to buy and get parts installed, do a little research, and educate yourselves so guys like this can't take advantage of you and your hard earned money.

BUT we know that what did not work now does work! Thank you, Booms Welding!!! - - - We ordered a pellet smoker and the first one that was delivered was clearly damaged, seemingly before it was put in the box at the factory; the manufacturer sent us a replacement, and since the first one was too big to send back, they let us keep it. The smoker is upright, similar to a dorm or hotel refrigerator (but bigger), and the damage made it out-of-square... it was tilted just a bit, and that bit was just enough to prevent the shelves from being supported on all four corners... if we were to use it and to put meat on it to cook, a sizable amount would have made the shelf tilt and fall. We had met Joel before, searching for help on another home project; Joel was very friendly and helpful; while the part we needed repaired couldn't be repaired (we ultimately found an unexpected replacement...), Joel was straightforward... he clearly understood our ask and shared why he wanted to help but just couldn't. That impressed us. So when we needed the smoker repaired, we called Joel. He came to visit and to determine what to do; Joel suspected that welding a couple metal pieces inside the smoker would provide the support that the shelves needed. We just needed to get the smoker to their shop and their welding equipment. We took the smoker to Booms and dropped it off. Within an hour they had it repaired... they were able to straighten the frame and to then make two welds to hold it in the straightened position. The repair was done so well and so professionally that, when they showed us the two welds, which they painted, in the bright outside sunshine, we could barely the repairs... the smoker, with the welds, looked like brand new. And thus we had a smoker to share with a friend. Thank you, Joel, Stephen and Brandon!! - - - - - -

Due to some dates being pushed up, I needed those bars to be cut down sooner rather than later. I emailed info@booms and had a response within the hour. They asked me if I wanted to bring the bars in or have them pick-up; I chose to deliver them directly to Booms and the gentlemen I spoke with said he should have them done by the end of the day. He notified me later that afternoon that they were done. I just picked the bars up and they look amazing. Exactly what I needed, just as specified. I am very pleased with the work performed by Booms. If you are looking for a professional, local, reliable, and quality metal fabricator - I would highly suggest Booms. I've already mentioned to Booms that I will be in contact about some future projects.
