Axleboy is great. I wish I could give them 6 stars. I have a 1995 Wrangler YJ. They lifted the body off the frame, blasted and sealed it, replaced the gas tank, lines, etc. They also replaced the 3 speed automatic with an AX15 5 speed, and installed a Ford 8.8 in the rear. They installed 4.56 gears, a locker in front, and a posi in back. That was months ago and no issues. I'm getting ready to take it to Colorado and I have no fear. read more

*ATTENTION*WARNING* Buyers beware!! I have been in the automotive industry from the factory level to building Sema show vehicles for nearly 30yrs. I have had work done here years ago, and Scott the owner was involved and the service was great to my "SEMA" jeep build. I have relocated back to the area, and I'm being told by the Mgr Steve that Scott is pretty hands off now, but he could take care of me. I had them quote me to install a brand new Carli lift on a brand new Ram 2500. Steve quoted me $2300 and I called the manufacturer of the lift, to verify the amount they were quoting me, and they specifically told me that they do them daily at their shop, and it's should be in the range of $1200-$1600 including the alignment, but no more than that. First red flag. I then asked them if they could put new tpms sensors in a brand new set of beadlocks and tires that the tires are already mounted to the rims, and I told him that I needed them to supply the sensors as well. He then quoted me $650, in which I had scheduled a different appointment for that. I also was a supervisor in the military and a department mgr at an automotive manufacturing facility. So I know to be very specific and detailed when I'm explaining services needed. I told him that they were beadlocks, and they needed to be dismounted and sensors installed and rebalanced. He even told me that they wouldn't program the sensors until we got the lift installed. I confirmed everything with him at that time. I took the rims and tires to the shop to drop them off right when they opened. I asked him if they would unload them from the truck, he paused and looked at me as if it was my job to unload them. And said, let me see IF I can find someone to do it. He comes out to the truck and said, well I guess I'm helping YOU unload them. So I unload 2 wheels and we rolled them into the shop. There were around 6-8 guys just standing around talking, since they were just opening, and they watched US roll the tires to the back of the shop. One of the techs whispered to him something, and then Steve came to me, and said "man I didn't know we were doing beadlocks". I said yes I told you that, and not only that, you helped me unload it and wheeled it into the shop! A blind man can see that they were beadlocks, not to mention how much heavier they are compared to regular rim and tire. He then said "let me go check something". So we walked back up to the front counter, and he said "man they'll kill me if I make them do this for $650". he then told me that it would be $1200 to do the job!! I said "no way!" So I went and rolled one of the wheels out to my truck and loaded it, and he followed me out with the other one and said "sorry man". Well "SORRY MAN" doesn't fix anything. I've called 3 other performance shops in the area and they quoted me $300 to do it, minus the cost of the sensors. Scott, if you're reading this, you should really get back in there man, I had a great experience with you and that Big brake kit you did to my Rubicon, but this guy has no integrity, no ethics, and is going to ruin your company name with practices like this, because I'm here to tell you that I've read the past reviews and there are quite a few of these situations on there, and it won't take long for the word to spread. There are a lot of us who have ties to the auto, jeep, and Offroad industry and this kind of publicity will spread fast. An educated shopper will be able to research and see how this guy is inflating the prices and robbing people! I hope this reaches all the people who were shopping around to buy and get parts installed, do a little research, and educate yourselves so guys like this can't take advantage of you and your hard earned money. read more

Axleboys not what they seem. Expectations not met. It is telling when this business gives you back money, apologizes and says they would like a chance to have your business back. After talking to the owner who stated that they know Older Trucks and worked on them all of the time, I felt confident that I could let them do the work. It took much, much longer to get my work done, because I believe they just wanted to go after the big suspension makeovers, lifted, wheels and tires. Big profits in that no doubt. So my older truck kept getting pushed off. And when it came to a simple problem in the service it took even longer. Then when they said it was ready, I paired for it and went to drive it home, only to find it unfinished and un-drivable . Sure they paid for an Uber to take me home, but now another few days wait instead of fixing the mistake on the spot? The truck was with them a Month! Then guess what? They said it's ready again, but the steering wheel is crooked. I go back in and they offer me money back and tell me they want my future business? Sorry, BIG FAIL! Go back to jacking up trucks and selling big wheels and tires, because you don't know suspension and steering and are NO SERVICE SHOP, just a poser. read more

I've waited over a year to post this review hoping that I could find something good to say. I will say this. Amy was very cordial and polite and seemed to do her best. However, there is a serious lack of communication from the shop to the front desk. When I picked up my CJ7 last summer, immediately there were things that weren't done and others that were half done. Lug nuts loose. Shift cover plate missing, parts that were in jeep when dropped off were missing, body mount bolts missing etc. I drove the vehicle straight to my mechanic to repair these items which took about a month to complete. Last month I found out the transmission mount was not tight, wrong mount, loose bolt, and sliding back and forth. Today I found out that they stripped the front U bolt nuts, that the U bolts are backing off and the axle is floating through them. I WOULD NEVER TAKE A VEHICLE TO THIS PLACE!!!!! NEVER!!!! $10,000 and all they could say last summer after I sent in pictures of problems was "we would like to earn your trust back"! No mention of reimbursement, no mention of why they called me and told me it was done when all these very obvious things were incomplete or left undone! No mention of "we will allow a labor credit for future work for your expense for our screw up", nothing but "we would like to earn your trust back". How exactly Axle Boys? By having me leave it in your most incompetent hands again to cost me even more money getting your work repaired/replaced! FORGET IT! WORSE SHOP IN ST. LOUIS!!!! read more

My 04 Wrangler Rubicon with only 177,000 miles will be20 years old in October! I was celebrating this with its 3rd top, new carpet and roll bar foam!! Axleboy Stole my UAW STOCK PARTS! Firtthey installed a defective Besttop and it had to be replaced!! then they stole stock Quick Change Parts and billed me for parts I never received!! I never received a warranty on the top either!! And the Dealer knows you did this! With ruining my rear axle!! Thinking I would return there!! puke!! Women do not go there! They took advantage of a 65 year old woman on SS!! CROOKS!! Tommy!! If you want something (repairs, a lift, re-gear, etc) done *correctly* using the best quality parts and techs, go to these guys. They've always treated me well and worked hard to get what I'm looking for and guide me to the best options. Just some highlights are they've found me hard-to-find parts, have a ton of accessories in stock (no waiting for shipping when I waited til the last minute), and even done the best alignment my car has had in years (many other shops had tried but failed). My experience with Axleboy Offroad was mixed. First, very responsive, answered my questions, helped me figure out what I wanted to do and best fit my budget. They were timely in getting the Jeep in and getting the work done. However, that is where things got a little worse. First, I asked for all the takeoffs to be kept. When I went to pick up the Jeep, they "forgot" and I had to go back to get everything. Then, after going back, they "forgot" the bumper again. Also, since picking it up, it has had a strong pull to the right (alignment, tire pressure, etc. are all checked & good...not a road camber issue. At the time, the shop said we'll fit you and get it fixed and the bumper too! Since then...almost 6+ weeks ago, they won't respond to emails, phone calls/messages, etc. Very disappointed. I am likely going to have to find someone to fix it and finish my build. Seems like the issue may be improper alignment & set-up work after the lift/level. Although I liked them throughout the process, once the build was done, the lack of response to address issues and the fact the Jeep was "released to a customer" with this issue is not good customer service. Recently The time came to have some pretty service done to my Jeep and I knew there was only one place I would trust my vehicle and that was AxleBoy. On my 1999 Jeep Wrangler my torque boxes had rusted thru (pretty common on that mode of Jeep) and desperately were in need of repair. I went up to AxleBoy made an appointment and schedule the work. I requested that Bailey be the that assigned technicians or my Jeep as I had seen the work he had done before and was impressed. About 3 weeks later I took my Jeep into AxleBoy and you can see the pictures of the high quality work they performed. Bailey went above and beyond on my Jeep and I couldn't be more satisfied. The quality of the work is in the details, that aren't easily picked up in a picture. I would not hesitate to have AxleBoy and Bailey work on any of my vehicles in the future. I don't have words to describe how unsatisfied I am after having Axleboy work on my 2013 Jeep JK. Took the Jeep here after sliding on some ice in a gas station parking lot and running into a curb. I was told there was $1,700 worth of damage and that I needed to replace several parts on my front end, but was assured the Jeep would drive much better than before. Got the Jeep back and drove for about 300 miles before determining the Jeep was WORSE than before. Notified Axleboy and dropped the Jeep off for adjustments. They proceeded to tell me that I needed ANOTHER $700 worth of parts but this time they guaranteed me it would drive 100% better. $700 later and I can't even drive highway speeds without the Jeep vibrating and shaking all over the road. So, $2,400 spent, and I have a vehicle that is undriveable on the highway. Bottom line, my Jeep was perfectly fine prior to sliding on the ice and trusting Axleboy to perform the repairs. Now it's a complete mess that I will surely have to pay someone else to rectify. read more

Axelboy tried to give me options for replacements and was extremely accommodating with issues that weren't there fault, like setting me up with a rental car due to the delay from the supplier. My truck was supposed to have work done here and i had them do an alignment before i had new tires put on. They claimed to do the alignment so i had them put new tires on my truck. Well it has been a little over three weeks not i dropped my truck back off an now they are claiming my truck is missing parts that would allow them to do a proper alignment. My brand new tires are ruined to the point where the inside edge is completely gone. I had them order all the parts to fix the truck and understand that they would take some time to get in so i told them to call me when ALL the parts where in seeing as this is my daily driver and they already had my truck for 5 days to do an alignment. So they call me back a month later and tell me to drop it off on wed night so they can work on it Thursday and i clarified all the parts are in. Yes they will be here wed before you drop it off. Well that was far from the truth. It is now Tuesday the next week and they have had my truck all week and they haven't done anything to it. The parts are NOT in and then i find out there are parts he didn't even order yet. So you have now had my truck sitting for over 2 weeks almost three at this point and have done nothing to it and all the parts aren't even ordered. I could go on and on about this shop wasting my time and money but you get the point. They have no regard for your time and certainly take no accountability for their actions. All i kept getting was excuse after excuse. I highly reccomend not going here. I have been in a rental car for this whole time and I'm at the point where i have paid double the cost now to rent a car and buy new tires again. read more

I recently took my car to a chain oil change place that also does maintenance work on the vehicle and they told me I needed about $3000 worth of work that I should have done. I had met one of the mechanics at Axleboy, Brian Mottin, and he recommended I bring my car there. After they looked at it they found that half of the stuff the other place recommended was not needed and that there was really only one thing that needed to be completed immediately and what to look for to determine when the other things had to be fixed. They spent several hours with me and had me drive a couple of their Jeeps to understand a couple options.
