I bought a used car in February in March has started car shield warranty, had never done this before on any used vehicle I bought. In August started when I first started off in the I knew it was a torque it was I immediately called the company they sent me to a few dealers. I ended up. At big M Chevrolet in Radcliff Kentucky. Transmission was over $10,000 shield didn't really give me any their own inspector out to check it. We are waiting on the final verdict for that, but I have been told by the service advisor at the dealership that it's no problem and had already been preapproved. One of the Worst Warranty Claims Experiences I've Ever Had I purchased a CarShield vehicle service contract because I wanted peace of mind if my car ever needed a major repair. Unfortunately, when I actually needed them, the claims process became one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I've ever had. My air conditioning failed during a stretch of 100-degree weather. I took my vehicle to European Auto Werks, a repair shop I have trusted for years. Instead of helping me get back on the road quickly, CarShield created delay after delay. The adjuster initially told my repair shop that they only needed one photo and the work order. After that was submitted, CarShield changed the requirements and requested approximately 15 photos, a video, and detailed technician notes. My repair shop immediately gathered everything and sent it in. A CarShield representative then called the shop to confirm they had received all of the required documentation and assured them that my air conditioning repair would be approved so the work could begin. That turned out not to be true. When my repair shop was transferred to the next department, they were told there was no approval. Instead, they were asked to submit even more photos and videos--even though CarShield had already confirmed they had everything they needed. With my rental reimbursement about to expire after just one week, my repair shop asked CarShield to send an inspector to personally inspect the vehicle so we could move the claim forward. Even that became another obstacle. After multiple transfers, the representative couldn't even schedule the inspection. Instead, the shop was told that someone else would call back within 24 to 48 hours just to schedule the appointment. Then we would have to wait again for the inspection itself, the inspector's report, and yet another approval decision--all while my rental coverage was running out because of delays that were completely outside of my control. Throughout this process, I received inconsistent information from different representatives, and my repair shop spent valuable time repeatedly responding to changing requests instead of repairing my vehicle. It felt like the goalposts kept moving every time we thought we had satisfied CarShield's requirements. What made this experience even more disappointing was what happened after I shared my experience publicly. Rather than resolving my concerns, I was offered a $10 per month discount on my contract if I would remove my review. I declined because my concern has never been about a discount--it has always been about the way my claim was handled and the lack of transparency throughout the process. A vehicle service contract should provide peace of mind during a stressful repair--not create additional stress, uncertainty, and unnecessary delays. First off , you need to have actual mechanics to evaluate repairs. If you are a Dodge ram owner and know a little bit about the issues that comes from them then what I'm about to explain to you is this. There are a few really bad designs on the Cummins 6.7 motor. One is the grid heater and another is the fuel pump. The grid heater has a problem when it heats up. Over time the bolt like to fall off and go in to the number six cylinder and destroy the motor. But the good news is that you can replace this now with a Banks system. It replaces the heater with a coil heater. There is no real modification to this except the coil heater from the bolt. The cost of repairing or replacing a motor is between 10,000 to 15,000. The cost to save from doing this is 1000. So I got coverage from car shield for my 2018 dodge ram. 6.7 Cummins. I replaced the grid heater to the better bank coil heater to help me and carshield from needing to replace a motor. When I replaced this system that very bolt was loose and about to fall off and destroy my motor. So when I had a vehicle brake down that involved a fuel line braking. They denied my clam and cancelled my contract. And what makes it more interesting they never called to tell me, I found out when the auto shop called me to tell me they denied it. When I called I was told it was because of the banks in take. I explained to them that this was not a modification that would cause more damage to the motor but helped cover the protection better of the motor. They still denied me. Now just a little insight. Two weeks prior to this I had an exhausted manifold leak and they didn't want to pay for this either. They never came to look at it they just said no. I had to right a letter to there higher asking if this is there SOP to just say no without looking at it. With that they reversed their thinking and paid. Theme times I had to use them for repairs. Once for a 2013 BMW X5 the manifold on the dodge and the fuel line. All three time they tried not to pay. So I strongly recommend to not get carshield. They use every loop hole to get out of honoring there policy's. They suck and they suck really bad. read more

My mom received a letter from CarShield stating that there "will be a Price Increase to our Vehicle Service Contracts effective 4/29/2026". It then directs her to "call us at (their phone number), so we can hold your VSC at the lowest program rates". My mom does not have (and never has had) a vehicle service contract with CarShield and sending out this notice with language/word choice that implies she does , for example "we can hold [YOUR] VSC at the lowest program rates", is deceptive. It can trick and scare people into unnecessarily contacting CarShield out of fear of having to pay a "price increase" and then getting manipulated or pressured into purchasing a vehicle service contract when they are likely already covered under their own car insurance policy. My mom is senior citizen who is more likely to fall for deceptive mailers like this. My daughter's 2018 Ford Focus suffered catastrophic engine failure. The Ford dealership diagnosed the problem and documented that the failed oil pump drive belt was located inside the oil pan and lubricated by engine oil. I provided maintenance records, cooperated with the inspection process, and did everything CarShield asked me to do. Instead of getting help, I felt like I spent my time fighting the claim. Every time I provided information, it felt like there was another reason, another explanation, or another technicality being used to avoid covering the repair. The process became less about helping a paying customer and more about finding a way to deny the claim. CarShield required inspections and diagnostics, and I ended up paying diagnostic and teardown costs out of pocket. After all the time, paperwork, phone calls, and effort, the claim was still denied. After talking with them I told them that I would let them know when I made a decision. They called me again the very next day, saying they found a better rate for me. I heard the same details. Misleading advertising. Car Shield advertises you, the customer, can take your vehicle to any licensed repair shop for service when needed. This is the information I heard on the TV ads which run all day long. Car Shield uses it's own repair network through an affiliate or partner company, American Auto Shield. Per the various brand name automobile dealerships I queried, Car Shield does not honor or authorize work by dealers. Specifically, our local Ford dealer reports Car Shield, via American Auto Shield, does NOT pay dealership claims. After trying to get Car Shield to pay claims, the dealer stopped dealing with Car Shield altogeher. 2. Sale of your personal information. The minute you sign up with Car Shield, they'll sell all of your personal information to data brokers. Within one day of signing up for services, my cell phone and Email accounts "blew up" with a barrage of sales calls. I had to hire Incogni, an online data broker cleansing services, to make automated requests to more hundreds of data brokers. The service is ongoing and Incogni still is fighting with 75 recalcitrant data brokers to remove my data. 3. Marketing Calls. Once Car Shield has your telephone number, the marketing calls NEVER end. Out of that amount, they only paid about $600-$700. Recently, my car developed a suspension problem. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my Life. I purchased a plan for my 2017 Ford F350 Dually 3 1/2 months ago. And have an issue with my Truck. The Shop initiated a Claim. A Technician at the shop Diagnosed, Verified and submitted his findings to the Management of the shop. They sent out an inspector, he reviewed and confirmed the issue and failure. The "Adaptive steering needs service" warning light came on. He did a bunch of measurements and Test drove the vehicle. A couple days later Carshield sent me an E-Mail stating my Claim was denied and my Policy cancelled. I called immediately and was told I would need to speak to a supervisor. A Supervisor never called. I called again and was told by a "Superviser" that my claim was denied by one of their Underwriters because of Modifications made to it. When I enrolled I told them a "2" leveling kit had been put on the front and aftermarket wheels and tires were on it. The stock tire sire is LT245/75R17 Load E. I put LT275/65R20 Load E on Custom Fuel Cleaver wheels which are designed fo this Ford. No Spacers, the the correct offset. Keep in mind the tires are put on are a Plus 3 fitment. "2.62" bigger in height but well within Industry Standards. They cited tires were "Too Big" . They also stated that the rear of the truck had "3" spacer blocks as a reason. Not True ! O.E. Fitment for a Superduty with the 4:10 gear package. In closing...they had my VIN and all the info I gave them when Enrolling. If there was a premium they could have told me then. Now they want to re-enroll me with a Premium and let me re-claim in 60 Days. You know good and well they would deny and say pre existing condition. This is a VERY BAD company. DO NOT invest your money with this company. If they have a dispute with the repair facility you choose then YOU HAVE TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE. This is in their contract. They have a financial incentive to dispute the hours the repair facility says it needs to complete the repair. My $100 deductible became an $1,100 deductible. This would have been $2,100 deductible, but the repair facility split the difference with me. My car was in the shop from Halloween to December 11th - 42 days. They only pay 7 days of rental. Again their advantage. All of the delays were their problem, or they needed a second independent inspector who did not even leave the parking lot of the repair facility as it was obvious what the problem was with my car. Unbelievable arguments every time you call them. They say "It's in our contract - YOUR responsible!" This came so easily to their mouth as if they say all the time, every day. Imagine not having your car for 42 days of which only 7 are covered, due to their problems, constantly running into arguments, and then having to pay a $1,000 extra to get your car fixed and back in your garage. I went through the process and told the salesman that I was still looking around. He said he would lock me into a first time caller rate. Said I can cancel anytime if you choose to after looking around.
