He is a super nice guy and equipped with his lifetime of experience working in cars, obviously knows what he's doing. I was in a sticky spot this week, because my BMW got a flat. Russ' is close enough to my home that I could get there without damaging the rim. He doesn't have BMW tires stocked at the shop and I told him I'd love not to spend an arm and a leg having to tow it, so he took the tire off for me so that I could take it to get it replaced, bring it back to him, and he'd put it back on for me. What a guy! Doing it this way might seem inconvenient, but when you have all the time and but small budget margins, this is the guy I need in my life! He also threw some air in my tires earlier this year on the house, 'cause he rocks. I love having Russ' Auto two blocks from my house. The Web shows they merged with Steger, but it's now just Steger and they no longer specialize in foreign cars. They provided a loaner, but had I gone to the dealer I would have had a nice ride. The photo shows the clunker with over 120,000 miles with no power steering I drove. Definitely get a second opinion if you want to use this shop. I was in a hurry and couldn't afford to wait.

Very poor customer service. Went in for a simple emissions inspection. They claimed that it failed,…read morebut still charged me for it. Sent me to a dealership "to fix the problem with my car's computer system". After going to a dealer's shop and paying $125 for their diagnostic and a second emission test, which passed, the dealer suggested that I go back to SL Hills for a refund, because their state-emission tester was faulty. (It happens to the dealer on occasion, so they get a replacement.) Eric, the owner at SL Hills, said that it was the state's machine, and it wasn't his problem if their machine was faulty. Would not give me a refund for the inspection, much less any compensation for the other $100+ that I spent without cause. I won't ever be going back. Any customer looking for helpful customer relations/service and accountability for their work should also look elsewhere, IMHO.
