As a contractor I try to support as many local businesses as possible, it refines my options and gives my clients the best possible outcomes. We create a lot of custom furniture and welds so we need powder coating frequently. My initial job quote with this company went well, I brought sample chair legs to match, they recommended a custom color, the price was higher than my other vendors but the lead time was critical. Today I went to collect my base and the gentleman who did the work was very apologetic about the outcome. He proceeded to show me the many flaws, noted the color was very different from what we'd expected. Claimed they didn't feel good about the work representing their company. Honestly his attitude was amazing, I told him I'd have to live with it due to timing but could he ask for a small discount. His boss the owner comes out and we were blown away by the 180 in attitudes. It made no sense, he was angry and belligerent, told me his manager wasn't here to offer a discount, I offered to leave my credit card number and let them resolve it when he was back. He then said it was none of my damn business but his manager's wife was having a baby, and I wasn't leaving with my piece until it was paid in full. I asked why he was attacking me and so rude, he told me to never come back. He'd been in business 30 years and didn't have to put up with me! At this point my foreman and I were really confused. I can only assume it may have had something to do with us wearing masks. Not one person at the business was. But this angry old dude does not deserve your business. When I do poor work, I don't attack my clients. Avoid powder tech at all costs, inferior work, horrible customer service and hateful owner read more
