As a girl that grew up and lived in Hawaii for most of her life, one of my lifelong bucket list items was to learn to snowboard (a big ask since I don't skateboard or surf and I am not known for being athletically inclined either). After taking a chance and going with friends up to Lee Canyon to just try, I realized I enjoy it enough to invest in my own gear. When shopping for boots, a friend recommended Powder and Sun. I loved how friendly and welcoming the staff were. They were there to answer any questions I had. There was a great selection of boots (and gear overall). I found a pair that not only looked pretty, but was a good fit and on sale. The staff that helped me also let us know that they can heat mold the boots too (which I did). They also are able to wax your boards too for only $25, which I did at the end of the season. When I need new gear or just need to do some maintenance on my board, I know where to go. read more

We came in looking for a skateboard for our to be seven year old son's birthday gift from his grandparents, and from the moment we walked in, we were greeted so warmly. The staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful in guiding us to exactly what we were looking for. I dont usually write reviews but I love this store! I came here last night with my two dogs and hubs. Right away we were greeted by Chandler, he is very knowledgeable about snowboarding... Recommended the right board for me for my style of riding. I maybe hard headed, but I listened to him and he made great suggestions. I wanted another board to use for my trip next week to Utah. I couldnt be more excited with the new informations I got. I ended up getting a board and finaly getting what I want which is the Burton Step On bindngs and boots. Chandler helped me understand about my boots sizing and made sure it will work for me and installed the bindings and even waxed my board. Chandler even made sure my boots fits me right (felt like a Cinderella helping me with my boots) and explained how to use the Step On style. They are very helpful for sure. The mom in the counter was sweet too and they loved our dogs and we love Honey Bear their baby dog in the store. Chandler your customer service was amazing and I wanna thank you for being so patient with me. We will come back soon since hubs said he might get the Step On bindings too for his board. Overall experience for almost 2 hours that were there was absolutely pleasant. Thank you guys for everything. Also, the Thai place yall said that was good was actually really good. FANTASTIC SERVICE! I walked in needing to upgrade a very old, outdated, and ill-fitting snowboard set-up, and Chandler was incredible. I explained my boots and the heel lift, and he helped size me up (I was wearing a FULL SIZE TOO LARGE BEFORE!) and try on a couple different styles, giving great recommendations for countering my heel lift issues. Ultimately I wasn't able to get new boots here today because my size was out of stock, but he helped me figure out what would work best for my needs. He also helped size me up for a new board based on my height, weight, and riding/terrain style, which again, I was riding on a board that was WAY too big for me. He recommended a board size range, and I found a style I liked but didn't have the size I was looking for... until Chase (and I think I'm messing up the name because my memory is terrible, I'm so sorry) came by, probably saw my visible confusion, and asked if I needed help. I let him know I liked a few boards but was looking for something closer to 140cm, and he immediately went back and brought out that exact board in a 140! They did a wax and tune up on it while I checked out at the register, and I was out the door with my new board! They really have a great team here, and the cutest pup that I wanted to follow around the whole store, lol! These guys are so knowledgeable and really know what they're talking about, and I look forward to coming back here for both my winter boarding and summer skateboard needs! read more

If you don't know... now ya know. Whenever I passed by this place, I always used to think it was some kind of indoor rock climbing gym lol. I was so wrong. My friends and I are going snowboarding. For me, it's my very first time. They recommended I go to powder and sun to get rentals. And that's where the idea of this place completely changed. As I stepped in the store I saw skating gear and snow boarding gear, and just said oooh, boy I was wrong lol. Well let me also take it back a couple steps. I also called before going to the store and overall the person on the phone was super helpful and patient. He answered my questions and even took the time to see what they had in stock for us. So then going back to getting our rentals. Everyone working at the store is super friendly and helpful. I didn't get his name, but he sized me and my boyfriend and set the bindings to the beginner degree for us. Not only was the customer service awesome, the price for rentals = $40. Can't beat that! They just had so much gear! Just an overall great place to find what you need. Great first experience. And will definitely be back! read more

I've shopped around in here a couple of times and I must say I do love their selection for a smaller shop. I brought my board here to get tuned and ended up walking with new bindings as well. Tim is extremely helpful and all of the associates here are very friendly. This place has some rly cool people working here that actually take their time to talk and give advise and recommendations. Not a common practice these days so it great to see the shivelry alive. They usually have a deep selection but can sometimes run thin for a week or two but I'm guessing that's just covid truckers and distribution issues. HO. LEE. SHIT. These guys are the absolute best. Especially Brent (told me one of his fav bands is NOFX. So he's good in my book). Super chill, super helpful. Nothing but professional. I've only begun skating a couple of months ago. I went in last week and bought a longboard. My first one. I'm a bigger dude, and at 35 not exactly young, and bought a 7 ply board. Having no knowledge of boards I didn't think anything of it. I rode it around this week and this morning noticed the layers had split in about 4 different layers. Badly enough it was warping my grip tape. I immediately ran up to the shop fully expecting to have to purchase at least a new deck. Brent took a look at it and decided to swap the deck to a 9 ply for me. I was astounded, quite honestly. If that wasn't good enough he offered to switch my sidewinders out for a set of traditional trucks since I think we both realized sidewinders just aren't feasible. Especially for a beginner like me.
