It's also very clean and doesn't smell. I love the setup of the memory care. Sometimes your loved one may be between the two levels of care, and may benefit from socializing people in the assisted living. Ivy Park allows that when appropriate, which is unique and something I love about this place. I also liked the floor plan of the Memory Care on the third floor. The hallway is like a loop, instead of a straight hallway with fire doors at the ends (where people with dementia may try to leave). The entire place feels like a nice hotel lobby where people gather. I also felt that this place takes fall prevention seriously - it's a major concern for elderly people in general but especially those with dementia. The flooring and the way furniture was set up in the common areas was thoughtful, i.e., there wasn't anything that was sticking out where you could trip or bump into. Another facility I recently toured had multiple strips across the hallway, maybe to cover the flooring joints. I saw a woman walking with a walker, and she had to stop and slightly pick up her walker every time she went over those bumps. I toured 30+ facilities in San Diego County when I worked as a social worker, and I have to say this place was one of the best I've seen. I toured for my father-in-law, and my mother-in-law chose another place closer to her home. But I would have definitely chosen Ivy Park if it were up to me. Highly recommended.

Not only are the surroundings meticulously maintained and beautiful, the care they provided my mother was exceptional. My mother had a lot of medical needs and the staff at the facility were always incredibly professional and they went out of their way to ensure she was comfortable and happy. I was constantly impressed with how the staff went above and beyond to meet her needs and ensure her comfort and well-being. Keeping my mother happy was no easy task and the fact that they were able to cater to her high standards while managing her complex medical needs speaks volumes to the top notch care this facility provides. Ivy Park has a genuine commitment to excellence and I can't recommend them enough. I couldn't have found a better place for my mother. Thank you Ivy Park for your exceptional care of my mother.

We arrived a few mins before our appointment which was at 10am, no one was there. We waited for over 30 mins, called all the numbers on the business cards with no luck getting through to anyone, even the main business card number was disconnected! In addition we saw business cards for Pacifica, thinking maybe they were affiliated which they are not, the individual I spoke with had no idea what Legacy Hills at Poway was. I can't begin to express my disappointment. We even asked a few residents and they said no one is ever at the front desk. Not to mention the tools left parking lot including a table saw!! Completely unprofessional, unacceptable, and a dangerous community.

Over the last 2 years, things have completely changed. There is never anyone at the front desk. If you do find someone, they are unable or unwilling to help any residents. The lobby is filthy, and the property is run down. The worst part of all- they make you believe that if a resident pulls their emergency cord- something will be done. Ha! The alarms are constantly beeping at the front desk and no one cares. Don't rely on anyone checking on you or your loved ones. Resident's packages are left at the front door or on the ground and no one will notify you. The washers don't work and the cards that you have to use don't work. The front desk's answer to this is to call the card company - who never answers the phone! I haven't been able to do my laundry here in a year. There are smokers who sit outside of our windows, and no one will do anything about it. You are welcome to come see the decrepit thread bare flags on the flag posts welcoming you in!

We tried for many year's, but couldn't get them to move to Florida, so I moved to San Diego. I didn't want to burden them by moving in with either daughter, and I didn't want to be alone. So,my daughters each took me to around a dozen places for seniors. I actually cried after visiting some of them. I thought to myself, " I don't belong here". But, when we entered Belmont Sabre Springs, I had a more positive impression . Nobody sitting around with blank stares. People were conversing, laughing, doing things! The place was bright and cheery. Belmont offered a wide variety of activities which were entertaining, intellectual, exercise classes, water aerobics, and best of all, Shabbat Services! That was something not offered at any other Senior living facility we visited. Right then I knew this was the place for me. I'm glad I chose Belmont Sabre Springs because: 1 my daughters live really close 2 I have a lovely view from my apartment 3 l have met some lovely people, many friends, and two really close that I call my "sisters".! 4 I enjoy many activities ( they keep me really busy) such as: Leading our religious services and holiday festivities, painting, mah jongg, Password, Jeopardy, trivia, bingo, interesting lectures, trips to museums, lunches out, movies, Padres games, Safari Wildlife zoo, Carlsbad flower gardens, and other trips. I've become so immersed in my life here I even was voted into President of our Residents Council. 5) And very important, the staff are friendly, helpful, caring! Belmont Sabre Springs was a good choice for me. I like it here. Beryl Bosher

Her care had become more than our family could safely provide around the clock, but that didn't make the decision any easier. We visited many assisted living communities and board-and-care homes, and unfortunately, many of them left us feeling discouraged and heartbroken. The moment we walked into Sunview Gardens, it felt completely different. It was warm, welcoming, and truly felt like a home. The residents were beautifully cared for, dressed nicely, with their hair done, and they genuinely seemed happy and comfortable. There was a warmth and positive energy there that we simply hadn't felt anywhere else. Our mom spent the last few years of her life at Sunview Gardens, and looking back, our only regret is that we didn't make the decision sooner. She loved her home there. She made wonderful friends, and most importantly, she was surrounded by caregivers who treated her with genuine love, patience, dignity, and kindness. The owners clearly take great pride in Sunview Gardens, and that care is reflected in everything--from the incredibly clean and well-kept environment to the attention each resident receives. We always felt that our mom was known, valued, and truly cared for as a person, not simply as a resident. If you are struggling with the guilt and worry that can come with moving someone you love into assisted living, I completely understand. We were once in that exact position. Sunview Gardens gave our family peace of mind, and it gave our mom a loving, happy home during the final years of her life. For that, we will always be grateful. Choosing Sunview Gardens was one of the best decisions we made for our mom, and I would recommend it wholeheartedly to any family looking for a loving and exceptional place for someone they cherish.

Thankfully, a Good Samaritan noticed an elderly woman with a walker headed down Midland St. in Poway. Sunview Gardens was ill-eqipped to care for her. The owner knew she had Alzheimer's and even assessed her! She had no problem opening the gate around the perimeter of the house. It is a very small facility; the staff definitely should have been paying closer attention. In addition, we hired a third party care-giver to stay with her overnight one day/night. This person notified us that a caregiver at Sunview literally yelled at our loved one for coming to the breakfast room before it was time. Stay away from this place if your loved one needs Memory Care.
