I had my car audio system installed at Poway Car Audio in November 2024, and unfortunately my experience has been extremely disappointing. Everything was all good until I started letting them know that there was constant issues .Shortly after the installation, my Bluetooth stopped working properly and my speakers constantly started cutting in and out. I stayed in contact with the shop the entire time and kept them updated about the issues I was experiencing, even after I moved to Arizona. Because I wanted to give them the opportunity to correct the problem, I drove all the way back to San Diego so they could supposedly repair the system. After they looked at it, I was told the issues were fixed, but shortly after leaving, the exact same problems started happening again. I previously found out that the proper transformer/converter was not used during the installation and that the wiring was poorly done and disorganized. I had let them know that and they still did not use the proper transformer and now I'm having issues again. Now I am being told by another professional that the entire system may need to be redone correctly, which could cost me thousands of dollars -- all because the job was not completed properly the first time. This has caused me significant inconvenience, wasted time, travel expenses, frustration, and additional financial burden. I expected professional workmanship and accountability, especially after giving the business multiple opportunities to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, my experience has been the complete opposite. I would not recommend this business based on the poor installation quality, lack of proper repair, and the ongoing problems I have had to deal with ever since. read more

This is the first time I've done pretty anything to my car since having it. I love my music, so much to the point I had blown out most of my speakers. Found this place and stopped in. Omar was super nice and helpful. Once we started talking numbers I was hesitant. I caved in and genuinely I couldn't be happier. Replaced all 8 stock speakers and added a stealth box. Once I got back in my car I'd say it was 1000% worth the price possibly exceeding the price. This place was recommended by my friend Roger. My girlfriend cheated on me with him so I know he has good taste and appreciates great quality. Amir and Emad were very helpful. After consoling me of my recent heartbreak, they were able to do what other shops told me was impossible. They were able to recommend and install an Apple CarPlay compatible head unit for my car. The car I have has built in navigation that had gone bad which Lexus had quoted me to replace for $5300. Poway car audio was able to get me a much better price with more features. I now drive with all the options I wanted in a radio. I'm glad I found this place. They offer many other customizable options that extend beyond the audio like suspension, tinting, alarms, and more. Probably won't take my girlfriend here cause she doesn't deserve anything this nice, but maybe my wife would appreciate it. read more

Moe and Amir were fantastic to work with. I brought my vehicle in and they took a look at it, made initial recommendations, then offered up a few ideas for better sound. I ended getting a system I felt would be best for my listening preference, which included a deck that could play CDs (yes, I still listen to music on CDs!) and a kicker system for amazing bass. They were also generous with the labor as they found that some rodent had chewed up some of the wires that caused a short in the audio electrical system. Very happy with their work and it was completed quickly too! One thing on cost, you can get a system that is really affordable and sounds great, and you can upgrade to a system that may be more tuned into your preference, whatever your budget, they will make it work out so you are happy. I did not have a good experience with this shop. I had them install a new dashcam, hood light, and interior ambient light. When I came to pick up my car, all three installations were not done properly. I made them redo it to fix the issues because the dashcam got cracked, and the interior ambient light strip was installed in the wrong place. I asked them why, and they thought that would be a better place than I requested. They kept making excuses and trying to avoid redoing the work. They kept saying that is not how it works. I gave up and went to another audio shop, and they fixed everything for me within 2 hours. The other shop mentioned that they had done everything wrong with the wiring and more. They are expensive, and do not trust them based on their excuse. read more

My daughter's car radio wasn't working and it was only 16 months old. This was second time it stopped working but we couldn't go back to where we originally bought it because we moved to Poway from the Bat Area. I asked if it could be fixed and they said that they would have to look at it. The salesman was very friendly. Of course, they said it needed to be replaced because it was dead but I have no way of verifying it. It sounded fishy to me but there was nothing I could do. I went with a Pioneer radio but as they were installing it, they said that the top of the dash was breaking due to being parked outside and old. The funny thing is that the car is parked in the garage. I told them to continue because they already started breaking it and it had to be installed. When they finished, the dash was cracked in about 5 spots. The radio looked and sounded good though. I had to come back because I noticed that they tripped the airbag sensor, which theturned off for free. I didn't think about it until after I left but how come the previous installer never had a problem cracking the dash during installation or when he had to get the power on again. Obviously, this technician wasn't very good. I'm happy that my daughter got a new radio but pissed that the technician broke her dash. For that reason, I can't recommend this place. read more

Pretty slow to respond by Yelp but did eventually with a price range of 4-600 to do an entry level car play radio and back up camera. When I got there the actual price was closer to 800. Work was done in a couple of hours. They put in such a cheap antenna that radio reception was poor to awful. The entry system is wired and they dangled the connector out the glove bow where it is subject to pinching and looked very tacky. Promised to follow up to replace antenna with better (for more $) and never did. I got home and spent about an hour rerouting the wire and cutting a hole for it to dress it through the dash. 2 stars as instead of 1 as I could and should have walked out after the bait and switch pricing read more
