This was my first time trying St. Hubert. The restaurant had a 15min waitting time, since i was…read morethere during lunch on a work day at 12:15pm but the food was worth the wait :) We tried the Lunch&Go menu. for myself, I ordered the Chicken vol-au-vent a la jardiniere, with creamery coleslaw (the coleslaw was perfect) and the plate was warm, not too hot, the pastry with the creamy sauce was delicious, the chicken was well done, andnthe vegies were good. and it came with a side gravy for the fries. for dessert I ordered Brownies. It was served with warm chocolate, it was a relatively small portion but heavy enough to make u enjoy it. I could've ordered a drink (part of the deal) but i stayed with just water. The price was a little under 15$ including tax, over all experience was good, and definitely will be coming back.

My all time fave roast chix place! We arrived for an early lunch and each ordered the half chix…read morefull meal. The the chicken was roasted to perfection, golden skin slightly crisp and meat tender almost fall off the bone. Just as I remembered it the last time we were in Quebec. The coleslaw was my second fave (vinegrette style..cabbage freshly cut and quickly dressed) ...had like 3 or 4 of that!. Ordered the chicken with side veggies. The veggies were cooked perfectly, bright green with a slight crunch to them (not cooked til army green). Service was spot on with our courteous server, she was patient, knowledgeable, and very accommodating to me as a non French speaker. We sat in the bar area to keep away from crowds during early lunch. But it soon filled up right around the 12:30 lunch crowds so we took our food to go. Overall very good experience and will return!.

Wow! I am really impressed with this chain. Frequently visiting St. Laurent mall, I walked the food…read morecourt over and over again, and just wanted something different, and "healthier". I nervously popped into Poulet Rouge, intimidated by the menu and all the choices and received the friendliest service. I ordered a mini bowl with lettuce as a base. They offer plant based chicken, and opted for that, going with the shisha garlic flavour. The mini comes with a choice of 1 sauce and 3 toppings. I went with the chipotle sauce which had some nice kick to it. I topped it with cucumber, feta and tzatziki. The bowl was a perfect size for a quick light dinner. The plant based chicken was smokey and it was grilled to order. They have a couple seats to dine in away from the food court. Service was super quick and they were so friendly when I asked for recommendations. (sorry I forgot to take a picture, but I will next time I am there, because its now a new fave)

Poulet Rouge has arrived in Ottawa! It is a chain from Montreal that specializes in build your own…read morechicken bowls, salads and wraps. Their chicken is Halal. You can get everything without chicken too if you are a vegetarian/vegan, but they do not have alternate proteins. This location is in the St Laurent Shopping Centre (the other location in Ottawa is at the Rideau Centre). It's in the food court, but they actually have their own private seating, although you can bring your food to the main food court seating as well. I've had Poulet Rouge before, in Montreal, and at the Rideau Centre location as well. I really like the food at this chain. This visit I got the build your own Rouge Bowl ($10.99). You get to choose a chicken flavour (Hercules/lemon, Shisha/garlic, Fusion/BBQ or Volcano/spicy), a base (brown rice or bulgur, you can upgrade to quinoa for an additional cost), a dressing, and 7 toppings. I got the Hercules chicken with brown rice, no dressing, spinach, tomatoes, beets, bell peppers, black beans, cheese, and tzatziki (which counts as a topping and not a dressing). The food here is consistent with the location at Rideau. I feel like they might be a bit more generous with the meats in Montreal, but it's been a while since I've been there, so it might be they've shrunk portions everywhere. The chicken portion is still good, and my bowl was still very tasty. Service was friendly and the place looks clean. Poulet Rouge is definitely a welcomed addition to the St. Laurent food court :)
