The Short Version:
Chain fast food vendor at Les Promenades Gatineau. Pricey for fast food that's way too salty, in my opinion.
The Long Version:
My husband and I were at Les Promenades Gatineau and I was getting hangry, so we had to eat ASAP, lol. We went to the food court, which is unfortunately all chains. We each chose our own meals and then shared with one another. My husband chose Valentine. Valentine is a Canadian chain that started out in Quebec and is famous for its hotdogs. The chain is a bit nostalgic for the hubster because he spent many a drunken nights eating at Valentine in his youth, haha. So he liked it. However, I thought everything was way too salty and the prices are higher than other fast food places.
The 2 hotdogs, poutine and a fountain drink combo was $16.49.
Of note, when you pay the machine prompts you for a tip. Now I don't eat at a lot of fast food restaurants but I don't remember such places asking for tips. I know that places like Tim Hortons, McDonald's, and A&W don't prompt you for a tip. Anyway, service was grumpy and uninterested, but at least quick.
The Poutine was too salty for me, but at least it had sufficient cheese curds. Hotdogs were too rubbery for my tastes. The fountain drink was unremarkable.
Overall, I was not a fan but others might feel differently.
